Arc knocks on the door of his uncle's study, calling out to him, "Uncle. I bring news." He's careful to not be TO loud. He recalls the time they were working on another of his Uncle's more delicate projects and a maid busted in, leading to an explosion that took weeks to repair. "Another Warforged has gained sentience and has joined protesters complaining about work conditions."
The mysterious woman, unsure how to begin, sheathed her knife in a small hidden compartment in her garters, before touching Brandt’s arm and starting. “I’m Colette. I originally come from Garronia, but my father wasn’t willing to fight for the legion, and we fled the region. We got as far as the border, before black tear raiders destroyed our caravan and butchered my parents. I was three at the time, but had grabbed a hold of a knife and fought through the tears to fight one of the attackers. I can’t have done more than scratch him, but their warleader took a liking to me and took me with him as his personal prize.
Over the next fourteen years, I was treated as a slave, cooking their meals, cleaning their armour, and often receiving beatings when things weren’t to their liking, or whenI tried to stealsome food. Corryn, the raider who “adopted” me, treated me slightly better, but that made things worse when he wasn’t there. As I came of age, a rival of his wanted me, and the two of them fought a duel. Corryn died, and I would wish I had. Gathering all the courage I had, I waited for the right opportunity and killed him, stealing his mount and riding West. I’ve been on the run since, until I got to Duskrock. I’ve found a good place here, but I’m tired of running, and I swore to myself that I’ll take revenge. These tattoos mark me as a raider, they shall see that they succeeded in making me one.
Now, I saw you with Sparks, and read in the paper that he’s planning to go east. If you’re with him, you’re going there to. I want you to teach me how to fight and defend myself and toconvince him to let me come along. I am sure that his company could use a good cook or too, and you don’t live years among raiders without picking up some things about hunting and foraging. If it comes to it, I also think the workers might enjoy having some entertainment along. Please, could you speak to him?”

Arc was pained at the sight of Tiberius. The brilliant mind that had tutored him was increasingly withdrawing into itself, leaving his physical form to decay. With mountains of books and notes piled in amongst leftover food and some spilled and dried liquid, the study was a mess. Tiberius himself had become hunched, with thick stubble and unkempt hair that stood of in frightful whisps of white straw in all directions. On his bald forehead shone in bright golden hues his own impressive dragonmark.

Tarian pocketed the coin and rested one hand on the pommel of her arming sword. A slight smile edged in at one corner of her mouth. “If you wish to, Mister Spudsder. You’re buying my services right now. But I may have to consider that gold as full payment for my services this evening. Depending on how things go, I may need to leave to make a delivery myself.” She leaned down a bit. “You see, I’m starting to think you may have made the butcher’s delivery this morning. Before Milo could make any move to escape, Tarian removed her hand from her sword and showed both palms, face out. “But I wasn’t paid to find you, mind. I don’t care about what you may or may not have done. Whatever the case may be, not one word about you to my other employer.”
In fact, it’d be better for both of us if I didn’t tell him. I wouldn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that tracking down the runner was right. Though, would I have even found Milo or convinced him if I wasn’t tracking down the butcher?
“And you’re paying for my guard services now, so not one word about you to anyone.”
She rested her palm on her pommel again. “As far as whether or not our relationship would be fruitful, how about you make use of my services tonight and decide for yourself? Halflings are supposed to be the most fortunate of all the world’s creatures, so maybe our meeting was meant to be. And I can certainly use the work.”

Arc feels a tinge of pain emotional at his Uncle's state, long gone was the giant of a man in his memories, one who's intelligence drove the family forward, while both improving old technologies and maintaining his self-respect as a living being....yet now? He sighs and kneels down to pick up a few of his Uncle's knocked over things. Glancing up at Tiberius's Dragon Mark, he subconsciously brings his hand up to his ace, moving aside a few bangs of hair to trace the similar mark over his right eye. He had begun wondering if this mark was a badge of honor, or a mark of shame. From what he read in the history books, it seemed as if all the smartest of men and women, eventually lost their minds (if they even lived that long). Standing back up to place his Uncle's things back in his table, Arc hides gives him a slightly sad look, "Uncle, you need to remember to finish your meals....as for the Warforged unit, it's still unclear. All I know is what I overheard from father, that one was seen protesting alongside other strikers from the factory." Arc continues to help tidy up his Uncle's workstation as he talks, "You know him, he's more concerned how this impacts his business ventures and reputation."
Brandt stands up and unsheathes his rapier. "This sword is a rapier. It's a good weapon, because you don't need a lot of strength to wield it. It'll never cut through armor, but it'll fit through those little holes where the joints are and open an artery just right." Brandt points to areas on the neck and on the limbs, noting those as areas that are uncovered by armor and vulnerable to a rapier.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Milo takes a minute to think, not giving any indication of trying to escape. “I have two problems here. One, if you get your man, I don’t get paid. So let’s just make sure I get my payment before we haul him off, Alright? So the plan goes as this , we track down this wanted figure, I get my money, you take him away, and I fill the void he leaves behind. Discontinuing all that unsavory business he has gotten into, got that? The second problem I have is the fact nobody has stricken fear in their adversary with the nameTari, Keeping up Constable?”
Milo heads to the designated drop spot to get his payment then works his way in the direction of the seedier part of town. Looking for anyone that looks like they could give them information about the description he has of the man.

“’Constable’ is my father’s profession. Would’ve been mine if I hadn’t left home.” Tarian watched for signs of anyone looking for Milo, per his instruction. “And ‘Tarian’ suits me just fine. I don’t need people to fear me.”
Tarian loosed her shield from her back and strapped it to her arm. “But I do think you’re mistaken about one thing: I’m not justice, and this isn’t a vendetta. I don’t care about taking care of the butcher. If you or I or the person I’ve been asked to rescue get attacked, that’s one thing. Ensuring your safety is my job. If someone tries to get in the way of me doing my job, I’m not going to just sit back and let them. But as far as I know, no one’s asked me to haul the butcher in.”
Tarian smiled awkwardly. “Though, if you meant that I should pretend to be a constable when we meet whomever we are to meet, well, I don’t think that’s a good idea. If anything, it’d be easier to just be a bodyguard and keep my mouth shut.”

She'd also inquire into what lodgings may be available for the night as it may be too late to get back to her dorm room.
As Milo and Tarian head toward the Docklands through a set of alleys, they notice footsteps and movements in the corner of their eyes. The alleys in front of them are getting increasingly narrow, and about twenty meters ahead of them, a small group seemingly talking and enjoying a drink blocked the path to the front.

As Milo approaches the group of people, he notices that six of them wear an odd assembly of worker’s clothes with bowler hats, neckties, bracers or suit vests thrown together. In many of the hatbands he notices playing cards. At his words, the group turns towards him and Tarian, with evil grins on their faces. One of them, a muscular human with an oiled moustache curling up from the corners of his mouth, replied in a mocking tone:
”Aye, I noes the man, tho gentle he is not. What is it to ya? Wan’ us to take you toos to ‘im? ‘Fraid you won’t have much choice in the matter.” At that, he flashed the long thin butchers knife tucked into his waistband. A quick look around confirmed that the five others were armed too. One of them, a mean-looking halfling with unruly sideburns hissed at one of the civilians: “Git the hells outta here, ain’t nuthin’ to see”. With that, the unaffiliated of the group quickly made a hasty retreat, leaving Milo and Tarian alone in the alley, facing the six gang members.

After Thia finds a room in a nearby inn for the night, Corti heads out back through the streets towards the Golden Gear. She was expected to play there tonight, but hadn’t agreed on any particular time with the barman.
As she got closer to the bar, she could hear the lively atmosphere. When she areuved, Duncan the barkeep was thrilled to see her. “Corti, great of you to make it. Unfortunately the halfling fellow has just left with a young woman heading out to look for someone, but the place is packing and I’m sure these fine workers wanna hear some of your songs.”

At Arc’s words, Tiberius turned to face him, his eyes shining with a feverish fire, though appearing much clearer in speech. “Volten was always... limited. No head for ideas and opportunities. We must find out more about this unit, need to know what drives it, what allows it to be so autonomous. I’m sure you’ve read of units adapting to combat situations and even some who are now making a living as guards or mercenaries, but this is an entirely new thing, this unit seems to defy its very creation. We must understand it!”

Arc nods in agreement, "Agreed Uncle. However, father has currently placed me on an assignment, and I must see it done when the opportunity arises. I'll see that I contact this unit while I wait for a new clue to arise." Seeing as how his father had (indirectly) dismissed him from the assignment, he wouldn't receive any family support for investigating Mrs. Krull's disappearance. Going out and talking to this Warforged unit who was tied to the protests might yield results for both the strikes and the kidnapping.
Arc picks up a few more items of the floor for his Uncle, before looking to him, "....Uncle, wouldn't you like to go meet this unit yourself? Get some air, refresh your mind, maybe inspire yourself?"
“Well well there is no need for an attitude like that. The Name is Milo, I’m charmed to meet you.(Using charm person on the first one to talk to us. Wisdom save 13). We are actually business associates and already have a contract served. Just had to push up the time table is all, simple business.”

Just after he will turn to Tarian, “A little bit of a pickle possibly. No problem for us though”. Giving her inspiration.
