Joshua and Klaus lead the group through the denser forest. After a while you think that maybe you have lost them and need to go back a few yards to pick the trail once more.
It goes down for 200 feet in a strange and hidden recess you failed to notice the first time.
The path is narrow and a strong odor seems to come from further down.
Near the edge of a natural entrance the three you have been following are unpacking weapons and armor from the bag Hick carried. Just above the entrance the skull of a repitilian creature warns would be adventurers away.
If anyone has reason to they would recognize the skull of a Kobold.
Hoyle will try to sneak close enough to the three of them to eavesdrop on their conversation, unless there doesn't appear to be a safe enough spot to do that.
”What are they doing? Is that a skull by the entrance?” Knowing they were going into the entrance so heavily armed made him worry about what could possibly be in there.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"They might not be nice people but they don't deserve to die. We can't let them go in there" Joshua walks out playing his lute. "You three have been very busy today. I think it is time you sleep" with the point chosen in such a way as they are the only ones in the radius. It affects 27 hp
Talon would step out as well.. slowly and with a great deal of hesitation. "Go home... not safe" he would say mimic as he pulls his holy artifact from his belt, squeezing it tightly as his eyes quickly dart from Thomas to his buddies.
Seeing Joshua calmly walk toward them the three jump up a bit ready for a fight, you can sense that they are one edge for all their bravado, and relax a bit when they recognize him.
Thomas gets angry rather quickly though and starts moving toward Joshua but falls asleep almost instantly. James follows suit. Hick stands looking at you a bid dumbfounded.

Tait will also come out from hiding.
"Hick, this is probably not a good idea and could endanger that town. Why don't we gather everyone up and go back to the festival? No one has to know what you have been up to."
(Attempting to use persuasion to talk Hick into agreeing. I will roll below in case needed.)
Klaus following the rest of the group out into the open and seeing everything come to a quick conclusion, looks to Arric, "Well Arric, looks like you got your peaceful solution, but it will be just a matter of time before those idiots, especially Thomas, are up to something else. We should take the boys from here straight to Thomas's dad and let him deal with them. Let Hick's father know as well that he should watch over his equipment better or some fools will take it to go get themselves killed." Finished with his little rant, Klaus will approach and begin helping find ways to bound the two sleeping boys.
Talon would move towards the skull and cast light on it as his rod began to glow in his hands. The rod would glow for just a moment before it seemed to jump to the skull... causing it to grow brightly before the kenku would toss it into the mouth of the cave, hoping to help to give himself and his friends an early warning if anything were to try to approach them from inside...
What weapons and armor did they bring from Hicks' fathers smithy? Is there any form of bow and arrows? Perhaps we can equip ourselves enough to explore the cave?

Klaus keeps his ears open with full intent on keeping track of where the boys are headed.

Hoyle moves closer. The three seem to intent to be bothered. They are putting on armor and sorting out weapons.
They are talking about treasure and how lucky James was to eavesdrop on his father when he talked about this place.
Seeing the armors and weapons you can be sure that Hicks stole them from his father's shop. He is the blacksmith.
(What is the ground / soil like near the entrance? It is the entrance to a cave, correct?)
Arric is confused.
”What are they doing? Is that a skull by the entrance?” Knowing they were going into the entrance so heavily armed made him worry about what could possibly be in there.
Hoyle thinks, they might be in over their heads, but we aren't exactly equipped to help them if there are a lot of kobolds in that cave...
Yes it is the entrance of a cave and it is forest soil that become rock as you get near the cave.

After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)

Hick nods and seems relieved that this wild adventure as not happened.
"Maybe we should tie Thomas before he wakes up. He will not be happy." he says with is head down.
You all know that and in some way you are going to pay for this, knowing Thomas.
Hicks picks the weapons and armor and puts them back in the bag.
"I just hope I can put these back before my dad finds out."
OOC: Talon has a rope but would have have it with him?
Klaus following the rest of the group out into the open and seeing everything come to a quick conclusion, looks to Arric, "Well Arric, looks like you got your peaceful solution, but it will be just a matter of time before those idiots, especially Thomas, are up to something else. Hoyle will come and help Hicks gather his father's gear. While helping he will as Hicks, "So Hicks, what do you know about this cave?"
Arric is going to stand at the mouth of the entrance to make sure nothing is going to sneak out behind them while they aren’t paying attention.

The rod would glow for just a moment before it seemed to jump to the skull... causing it to grow brightly before the kenku would toss it into the mouth of the cave, hoping to help to give himself and his friends an early warning if anything were to try to approach them from inside...
Hick looks at the others.
"We don't know what lies inside but Thomas is pretty sure that there is treasure to be had." he doesn't sound sure himself at all.
Arric nears the cave and he ears something scamper inside toward the back of the cave. It sounds like a squeak.
