Your lungs fill with painful cold as you swing wildly trying to find your foe, but you don't quite connect thanks to the other worldly darkness now engulfing the wight and its coffin...
As your axe comes to rest you feel tendrils attempt to grab at your legs, but you quickly kick at them and resist their grasp.

Squinting into the darkness Rees curses softly and lowers her bow. Firing blindly feels risky, but hopefully the Traveller would guide her magic, since he's the one who gave it to her. Sliding her hand down her arm like she's taking off a glove, Rees casts chill touch
Attack: 5 Damage: 7
(I'm assuming disadvantage because I can't see the thing... and I don't think Rees would have been close to the darkness, but I also don't know how big the room is so if it's not reasonable for her to be out of it then I'll roll the damage/save)

The room is 40'L x 30'W. The darkness engulfs 20' centered on the coffin which is in the middle of the room. So, you can reasonably be backed up out of the darkness near the crawlspace entrance. Correct, you do have Disav as you can't see anything within the dark mass, but you can't see if your spell had any effect either...
Your ghostly skeletal hand appears somewhere in the darkness.. you're not sure if it grabbed on to your foe, or not...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Is Alten in a position where his 30 foot movement will get him across the pit with a running long jump (Alten's long jump is 16 feet with a 10 foot running start and the pit is 10 feet across, correct)? Or will it require movement and Dash action?
On the assumption that the spell is still in effect on the start of Alten's turn, damage: 3

It depends on what side of the coffin your on... I think you'd be on the southern side which would make it 35 feet to the other side of the pit. If you're on the eastern side then you can make it without dashing. I'll leave it up to you since I didn't ask for specific positioning at the beginning of combat.
Does he make the concentration check to maintain the spell? It will make a huge difference in Alten’s choice.
DC 10... 12
Edit:
Talien's first attack misses, but he find the deathlock in the darkness and strikes the party's foe! The darkness remains, however and Talien retreats out of the darkness to regroup.

Alten's up now.. whatcha got? Since he's on the southern side it's 35' to clear the pit with a long jump.
Alten lets out an omphsound from the cold damage. (Concentration check on shield of faith 3)
Fall back. We don't fight well when we can't see.
Alten will use his movement and take the dash action to do a long jump over the pit. Once he gets over the pit, he will get about 15 feet beyond the pit, stop, and turn back for the next round.
edit: I'm rolling like crap, lost concentration on my spell

Just as "Alten" reaches the other side the chittering stops and the darkness suddenly disappears. In front of the coffin a half-elven figure matching Alten's description stands and points across the pit. It yells, "Stop him! He's getting away!" in a voice matching Alten's own.
With her eyes adjusting quickly, Arxius looks at the Alten near her and then to the one it's pointing at. She leans against the coffin and shakes her head. "Perhaps we should just let this one go if it wishes to run, my love. I am exhausted after dealing with that Kobold Clan. I know you wish to keep going but we do really need to go back to the village."

I think I see where you're going with this... I (as the DM) believe Alten (the real one) previously wanted to just go back to the village.. so, you're testing this one right? If so, please roll a deception check.
I would have thought it was to see how he reacts to “my love” since we are are both clearly elven lineage. And that Alten tested her earlier with the making babies demo.

It's a tangled web. My love, she's exhausted, they dealt with the kobolds, she wants to go back to the village.

I'm willing to go with the southern side. Let's see if Talien gets lucky first.

Talien takes 10 damage from the darkness.
He will swing again with Shatterspike and his scimitar.
Attack: 21 Damage: 12
Attack: 17 Damage: 6
He will then if the darkness still remains move out of the darkness to the east.
Edit. If the darkness does not remain he will not move, even if the elf does not die.
