“I’m not sure you Outlanders understand the gravity of the situation Alten spoke of. This specific dragon may not be evil, but she will most likely grow to become evil... it is in the nature of chromatic dragons. My order lost many a good priest to a chromatic dragon nigh on ten years ago when the Cult of Tiamat tried to bring her to this plane. But, whatever you choose I do not recommend giving her back to the kobolds.. who knows what vile deeds they had planned for her”Corkie says.
“It is not our place to dictate,” Arxius says firmly. “We do not get to cast judgments and define the existence of those around us. If none of you wish to take on this task Rees and I will do it ourselves.”
She looks to her friend double checking they are on the same page.
”I will not cage an infant,” she says forcefully. Clearly getting worked up. “And I will not allow you to kill anything for the sin of being born in the wrong form!”
Corkie grows flush as she says, “Letting the wyrmling go free is one thing, but actively trying to return it whence it came is another. There are infinitesimal ways to get yourselves killed taking on this “task” as you say. You don’t know where she came from, how far it is from here, or if she’s even willing to go with you. You don’t even know if her mother wants her back for Pelor’s sake! If she’s one of the White Wyrm’s from the Spine of the World she’s liken to kill Calcryx if you try to return her now!”
"Then we find an alternative," Arxius says. "Nobody should be separated from their kind. From their family. But if she cannot return I will help her find her place."

An evil “infant” is still evil.It is absolutely my duty to judge and condemn evil. That is the purpose of committing one’s life to the service of Torm or any number of different gods.
Where was your concern for the twig blights? They were just born or created to do what they do. But we killed them for the evil that they had done and to prevent them from doing more. Or were they different because they weren’t cute? Or couldn’t talk? What about the Goblins? You didn’t have a problem killing them.
And what about Meepo? Meepo just said it has hurt him. It’s already beginning to prove true to its nature. He doesn’t even want to be with it.

If a creature can communicate, articulate, and care for itself, which this dragon can, I hardly call it an infant. An infant is totally dependent on its parents or caretakers to survive. And I don’t want to cage it.

"The difference with the twig blights and the goblins is that they attacked us. The dragon has not. It hurt Meepo because Meepo and the other kobolds locked it in a cage. I'm not going to attack her -- we don't have to bring her with us, that seems dangerous, but I will not hurt her when she's done nothing but get kidnapped, separated from her people, and try to survive and escape. That's not evil."
""You judge and condemn it for what it is, not for what it has done. Which is nothing. It has done nothing beyond fight the ones that imprisoned it. I am sorry, Meepo, but it should not have been imprisoned in the first place. It should not have been stolen."

Corkie chimes in, "It appears to be able to use its breath weapon already... From what I know about dragons -- which isn't much mind you -- that means it is not newly hatched."

"My cell mate is right. We could debate our positions and morality for the rest of the day and have not made any progress. We need to make a decision regret, dwell, or be mad about it later. There's more goblins in this citadel then the ones you tied up back there and we're probably going to make enemies of your kobold friends as well if you don't return the dragon. That means we're fighting our way out."
