Shan pretends to be angry at the dwarf and yells, "Fine! We'll see for ourselves!"  Then he brushes past the dwarf and heads to the front door, while keeping an eye out for any ambushes.

(OOC: How far from the door am I? Can I make it to the front door in one movement? If so I'm also going to open the front door.)

 Shan moves ( Deception check please with advantage ) toward the door. 

It stands open but a thug, a human, stands in front.

(Seeing my hideous roll, I'll see how they react before I react, but I'm likely going to be starting off init here lol)

Chazrael is going to move toward the door and ready an action. If someone jumps out and attacks, he will draw his shortsword and attack.

Xana readies her crossbow and moves forward to stand a little further back than Chad.

Crash will move forward with a hand on his quarterstaff

As Shan moves toward the door the human seems at first startled then draws his sword as he perceived the intentions. 

Since you are all converging on him and with a clear intent you can all move. 

Ooc: The man is a thug and has 28HP with an AC of 15. I m. Saying this so the one after the kill can make there move appropriately. 

The first room is a rough square with a stair going up and two doors leading left and right. 

As a bonus action Shan casts Spiritual Weapon and has it appear behind the guy in the doorway and attack him. 

6 to hit

4 damage if it hits.

Then he's going to move in and try to nail this guy in the head with his mace.

20 to hit

9 damage if it hits

"How dare you steal a griffon egg and kidnap a girl to do it!"

The man takes the hit and struggles to get his bearing. There are no movements near the altercation.

Crash will move up next to Shan and launch attacks with quarterstaff and fist. 

Chazrael will move up the stairs and draw his short swords.

Xana follows Chaz, raising a hand and firing off an eldritch blast at any enemy she spots.

Attack: 15  Damage: 7

The man is blasted backward into the house and hasn't even moved. He sprawls near the stairs, eyes staring emptily. 

No noise comes from the house but people in the streets have noticed and are moving away to get clear. 

(perception check please for those outside) 

Kriz was going to say something but her companions act swiftly and decisively. She keeps some steps behind her eyes darting around fearing some kind of ambush or deception.

Yes you are perfectly placed to be able to see inside and out. 

As the three men rush toward the back of the group a loud voice shouts from upstairs. 

"Don't come up or we kill the girl." 

Whoever was in the back of the group gets hit from behind by the thugs. 

Two of them attack one of you while the other sends a quarrel into the group. 

1. Attack: 9 Damage: 8
2. Attack: 12 Damage: 5

The quarrel slams into Xana

1. Attack: 19 Damage: 3

Shan yells back up, "Just let her go and we'll let you live!"

No there is no-one you can see. But there are rooms on each side. And the stairs.
