"Hold, Dwaye!!" Soar says before Dwaye gets to the door to open it. "We have an injured man we need to get to safety and there could be anything waiting behind there. And that smell... can we please listen before we go in? Alton do you have any magical means to see behind the door?"

When you listen to the door, you hear screams and yells; you smell something burning, and something acrid.

Renaer looks at the party. "If you want to go see what is going on, I will take Floon back up the tunnel towards safety. Your call."

”There’s someone screaming on the other side of this door, I say we get in as fast as possible, so I vote Renaer takes Floon to safety"

Certain that Dwaye will open the door whether the party votes to do so or not, Renaer and Floon depart westward under the tunnel beneath the waterway.

Soar will stick with the party and nods when asked about opening the door. She hoists a javelin, ready to throw it at whatever looks to be most guilty of causing something else to scream. "Sorry Dwaye. Too many surprises today, didn't mean to be mean. I'm pro-saving-wounded-Floons, but I'm also pro-stopping-people-from-burning/torturing-and-causing-screaming. So let's stop them, and then I'm headed back up to accompany Floon and Renaer."

”It’s okay, we’re all pretty stressed right now” Dwaye says before turning back to the door, readying his Warhammer, then swinging the door open.

Dwaye slams the door open; he witnesses a human on the floor (presumably dead, covered in burns), a duergar in a similar state and condition, and a fire genasi, standing, though not without wounds; on the opposite side of the room is a large grey ooze, which has seemingly crawled up into and then out of the cesspit room there. The fire genasi is trying to ward off the ooze, which draws ever nearer with its caustic body!

(I'd normally try to wait for confirmation from another player before having the door open but I'm trying to get a player into the game. Wh1tefury, introduce your fire genasi sorcerer, and all of you roll initiative!)

Dwaye rushes towards the ooze, and slams his Warhammer sideways, aiming for the front of it, or at least the side that's facing us.

Dwaye slams the ooze dead center, causing oily black liquid to splash everywhere! The ooze recoils.

Dwaye then smells something metallic, like blood; no, not blood, but his warhammer, the steel is corroded! (His warhammer has a -1 damage penalty from here on.)

Physical description: Tall, with ash-black skin, and bright red hair.

Class: Sorcerer

Subclass: Pyromancer

Backstory: Ever since he was a child, Ignis has a connection to flames, one much stronger than normal Fire Genasi. A group of Xanathar radicals kidnapped him to discover the source of this empowered connection via series of experiments. These experiments drove the young Genasi insane, cuasing him to be locked away in a deep dark hole.
