The crewman patrolling the deck halts, staring between the fallen form and Zane. Looking closer, Zane and Hox can see it is the sailor from the crow's nest, dead and bleeding from his snapped neck. A man's scream pierces the night from below the deck, and a small cloud of fog, around five feet wide, descends from the crow's nest above.
Hox wakes from his sleep and stares sleepily at the fog before looking puzzled, "Why is cloud close?" . Hox then listens to Zane, drawing a dagger as he scurries off to find Gruun and Killian.

Hox finds Gruun and Killian nearby, shaking them awake while Zane attempts to color the cloud pink. No color appears, however, and the cloud quickly expands, taking a vaguely humanoid shape. The shape soon solidifies, becoming human, wearing a hooded cloak over pale white skin and a voracious look in his eyes. The man's fingers end in long, jagged claws. He smiles grimly as he walks toward you, revealing fang-like teeth.
Across the deck, a sailor bursts through the hatch leading below decks. "We're under attack!" he shouts past the clamor beneath, seconds before a bat flutters in front of him and also becomes a similar creature to the pale man in front of you.

The man snarls at Zane's insult, glaring at the bard long enough for Gruun to step forward and wrap a lanky arm around him in a bear hug. The bugbear raises his mighty axe, slamming it into the man's leg. The blade of the axe bites in - and stops, barely finding purchase in skin that is tougher than expected. Looking up at Gruun and grinning, the man bares his fangs and says calmly, "Come now, there's no need to panic. I'm here to help you." Gruun's axe lowers toward the deck as one arm goes slack, the other still wrapped around the pale creature.
Killian's blade glows faintly with a dark light as she stands at the ready. "Peculiar..." the man mutters, glancing over for a second, then leaning over and biting Gruun in the arm. The bugbear takes 4.5 piercing damage and 6.5 necrotic damage. The pain registers as a flicker in his mind, snapping him back to his rage. He notes that the wound left by the axe has closed entirely.
Hox disappears from sight into the ship's rigging. A trio of sailors emerges on the far side of the deck, rushing at the other intruder, who has grabbed the patrolman by the throat.
For Hox:
The two invaders on the deck are the only ones in sight, but there are still shouts and screams coming from below deck.
Round 2 Order: Players <===== Vampire
Placement: The vampire is engaged in melee combat with Gruun. Hox, Killian and Zane are 20 feet away.

Zane takes a deep breath and says, "Killian, you do you." (bardic inspiration 1d8. For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw.)
He then takes another deep breath and plays one very specific note on his lute with all his ability, like a shrill whistle, like a thin reed being blown into by a mighty storm. (action: Countercharm)
Countercharm:

Releasing the vampire, Gruun throws his weight into two heavy swings of his axe. The vampire stops both with his hands, allowing the blade to cut into seemingly resistant skin. Killian strides forward, tearing into the vampire's back twice while his attention is turned. Unlike Gruun's axe and the daggers of Hox, which have similar trouble sinking in, the man lets out a howl of pain as Killian's sword draws black blood from vicious wounds. The vampire's hands begin to smoke and repair themselves while he steps toward Gruun, punching both arms forward and dealing 6 bludgeoning damage. Looking to Killian, he states, "Put that thing away before you hurt someone, will you?" The sound of Zane's lute plays like a beacon of clarity to the paladin's mind, reinforcing her will to ignore the sudden compulsion to comply.
Across the deck, the three sailors fall over the second intruder, who ignores them while pulling the patrolman in toward him. With a horrible ripping and gurgling sound, he bites down and tears the sailor's throat out, leaving him to bleed out on the now-stained deck.

"True death? You think one as unholy as myself could bring me death?" the vampire's laugh is cut short by a hiss as it feebly blocks Killian's sword with its arms. As the new deep wounds begin to smoke and repair themselves, the vampire grabs Killian's arm, wrenching her forward, and slams a fist into her face, dealing 12 bludgeoning damage while holding his grip. As Zane continues to play, Hox stabs again into the vampire's leg, though his previous stab wound has almost completely healed. Gruun grabs ahold of the vampire's free arm, but the creature wrenches free, until the bugbear slips an arm beneath the vampire's armpit, holding him still with his arm wrapped around the vampire's, hand pressed into its back. "Hands off, bugbear!" it hisses as it ineffectively attempts to free itself, all the while maintaining its hold around Killian's arm.
Across the deck, the second vampire punches the throat of one of the sailors, dropping him to the deck gasping for air. When the other two attempt to fall upon it, it fades into a mist, reappearing behind them and grabbing one by the back of the neck. Another crewman arrives on the deck, shouting, "Vampires! Half a dozen below!" A white glow radiates through the deck from below, accompanied by a series of growls.
