Mandaway regarded the water crossing, " If we have to attack them, while they are trying to cross the water would be the best time.....and the best time for them to attack us would be while we attempted the same."
Bert will help tie the rope to the near side. He'll also be the first one across the rope (acrobatics: 17) and try to be sneaky on the other side (stealth: 13). He'll try to get close to the inn, alongside Hawk, looking for anything that's changed about the town at all (perception: 24).
The guards reply to Zook, "Until help arrives, either from the villagers returning or from Waterdeep, we have sent a bird to them informing them what happened"
You can't reach the rope that was tied to the other side so it would have to be a new rope and Krakkan would have to jump across which wouldn't be sneaky. Or you climb down into the river try and get through that way
Hawk, your climbing is for things like going up trees and other solid surfaces, the rope is swaying so slightly more difficult. Make an athletics or acrobatics check with advantage just to not lose your grip. Also, due to Berts help you can roll again for the tying for your advantage
Your climbing is fine anyway. It isn't a wall, it is an incredibly steep slope down that require climbing gear to navigate properly. You get to the other side and roll once more for tying the other side (and a stealth if trying to be stealthy)
Hawk will pull up the other rope (the one that was here earlier) and throw the untied end over to the party on the keep side, so they can use that to help cross, or tie it to make a more stable crossing.
You can't really throw a rope 15ft unless you tie something weighty to it and make a general strength check at disadvantage. And it isn't that sneaky.
Not that being sneaky matters much as you tie the rope on and it holds. Until Bert starts to cross. The knot comes loose when Bert is about 15ft across, sending him falling into the water. (I will allow an acrobatics check to dive for noise minimisation)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bert tries to hold onto the rope and swing gently back to the other side without falling into the water so he's essentially landing feet first on the keep-side bank on the balls of his feet, ready to rappel back up: acrobatics 15
(If this is a miserable failure, before he hits the water or it feels like he's going to hit the cliffside too hard, Bert will misty step to the far side.
Unfortunately the rope falls before you have a time to grab it, but you manage to misty step across without making too much noise. The rope is now no longer attached but two of you are across.
Bert looks to Hawk. "Well that could have gone better. And worse. Phew."
He looks across the broken bridge at the others. "Tie something soft and compact, but heavy to the rope and throw it over to us, Krakkan. Maybe that full waterskin, or a bedroll, or something. I'll do my best to help knot it better on this side. If you want to give any of us guidance from Eldath, Mandaway, I don't think anyone would say no."
Sleight of hand checks for catching, and then rope-tying: 1714
Krakkan will tie a water skin ([/roll]1d20+1[/roll]) and throw (8)
(tie roll, 3)
(based on how long it has been since Forge and Krakkan have been online, they will leave the campaign at a suitable point and if they return they may rejoin)
As Krakkan throws the waterskin, the knot falls apart. Unfortunately the throw was a bit off due to the rope and the waterskin hits the wall of the town, off to the side of the bridge, making a bit of noise. You are unsure if anyone heard.

Zook watches the events unfold intently. After all, this was his idea. He’s impressed, but not surprised at Hawk’s climbing ability. However, when the knot come loose and he sees Bert falling towards the water, he lets out a slight giggle, before regaining composure and gasping with awe as the rogue so quickly ends up on the other side. “My my.... he moves more quickly than the windd! It almost seemed as if he instantly flew through the air and landed on his feet. He’s quite a talented fellow!!”
After Krakkan botches the throw, Zook slaps his palm across his face. “Ugh... Who’s idea was this anyway? Maybe I’ll try swimming instead.”
With that, the gnome begins descending the ground under the drawbridge towards the water.
Zook starts to climb down the rope but looses grip, plummeting towards the water. Luckily just near the bottom he catches on and lowers slowly into the water swimming across without a sound.
Around this time, Mandaway, Krakkan and Forge see Kella and the others leaving the Inn. Kella looks around and sees you (but only the three still on the upper end) and waves at you.

Mandaway watches the throw and then the plunge towards the water, " Eldath is not with us today.", he said with a slight smirk.
Mandaway goes to wave back to Kella then thinks better of it, " Its very disappointing....she didn't seem like the kind of person to spend time with such nasty people."
" Lets keep their eyes on us so they don't notice the others", Mandaway suggested, pointing randomly at a point in the distance in the opposite direction to the ones below

Hawk will grab a rope and start climbing.
Sure thing, Zook, on my way down!

That’s what Hawk is going for: the river.
So tie a new rope on this side and start climbing down towards the river.
(Hawk has a climbing speed of 20 ft, so I believe that means no roll is required for climbing)

I was thinking of climbing down the wall to the river and back up the other side to tie the rope.

Bert suggests trying again - unless they want to stay, and let him and Hawk go scout.
