Bert was just going to investigate the walls behind the temple, as well as the buildings to the east of it (think an inn is right next to us). Not interested in the farms at the moment. Staying out of the square, keeping to shadows and staying silent and unseen and patient per that stealth roll if possible. If he gets too close to goblins, risking detection, he'll be patient and wait them out, and then withdraw quietly to the temple.
Looking at the walls, the watchtowers to the north as well as the other graveyard at the north have nothing of interest. Getting near to the building on the far east (other side of the inn) you see a fenced in yard next to the house. Running around in the yard is two goblins chasing some pigs and chickens. You make your way to the door to the house without them noticing and can see that there is a great deal of the house damaged by a rock. Coming back via the inn, you notice that the inn is mostly intact but partly damaged. As you go to enter you notice a pair of goblins entering the inn. It has been almost 3 hours so you decide to head back, but you know where 4 goblins are to either avoid or eradicate.
Forge:
Just before Bert returns, Alf sees 2 goblins coming near the temple. However they proceed to go into the inn instead of into the temple.
Hawk goes around and gives everybody 2 sp and 5 cp each: I found this lying around those Greenies back there, thought I'd share it with you guys!
He also looks for a nice place to set the Unicorn's head, if there's a shrine or mantle for it in the Temple, or just any place it would look nice.
He laughs out loud at Zook's comment, and holds himself from making too much noise. He then tells Zook, while giving coins mentioned above:
I haven't seen anything that could explain what's been going on.. but I did find these coins, here have some! I'm pretty sure the presence of those ugly beasts outside would have scared off most critters around...
There is a couple of wooden chests in the back room, both tipped over and empty. Along with some clothes and other worthless personal belongings thrown around. You could tidy this room up over 3 hours and put it nicely there. Though if goblins come back they will likely take it again
"Ive spotted two goblins heading into the Inn building right next to this one. Time to stay on guard, or we could just go take them out. Just tap me on the shoulder when its time to move I won't be able to hear you say anything to me."and Forge returns to Alf and keeps an eye on the Inn building making sure the goblins don't go anywhere else or approach the temple.
Zook extends his thanks to Hawk for the coins, and he stuffs them into his pouch. He’s very intrigued by Forge’s ability to see through the eyes of his avian companion.
”I don’t think we should do anything until our cleric friend has recovered from his wounds. While we wait, we can perhaps come up with a plan for how to deal with the remaining goblins. If they don’t know we’re here, we can use the element of surprise, and hopefully avoid the kind of trouble we had last time.”
”I suppose it would also help to establish what each of us is good at, so we don’t just rush blindly into combat. I know that Hawk is good with his bow, and also with his blades, and he’s good at hiding until he’s ready to pounce. Forge has some offensse magic he can cast at a distance. Kraken is clearly our muscle, and he can probably pick up two goblins by their feet and bang them together. Bert likes to sneak around and attack from an unseen position, which can be highly advantageous. Although I hate to admit it, I’m no Krakkan, but I’m better at close combat than ranged, partly because I don’t have any long range weapons, just my boomerang and some darts. And, I have my illusions, which can be used to distract, and also help one of us hide if need be; I can creat an imaginary barrier.”
“Have I missed anything? Does anyone have some ideas for how we can combine our strengths in battle, because it appears that we may have a few more in our very near future.”
Bert will make his way back to the temple, waiting for the goblins to enter the inn before silently darting back inside and greeting the others.
"How is Mandaway? I scouted around and don't think they saw me. There were two goblins chasing some chickens around a farmyard on the other side of that inn next door, and there are two that just went into the inn. I didn't see anything else. The town's pretty beat up, farmhouses flattened."
He sinks down into a pew next to Mandaway. "Does anyone remember anything more specific about that reward? I'm not sure I got the full picture."
"Also, what do we want to do? We could creep around and eradicate the goblins who are raiding the place, and then keep one alive to ask them some questions, like what happened and where are the people. Or rest longer. Or leave, but that's no fun."
"My idea? Everyone here sets up just inside the doors, ready for goblins to rush inside. Have melee and ranged weapons and spells ready to fire. I go out and get the attention of a couple at a time, and then act scared and rush back through the door. We all open fire and take down or detain them in here. Evens the odds a bit. Thoughts?"
Zook's eyes light up when he sees Mandaway regain consciousness.
"Oooh, welcome back, my friend! You didn't miss much, Krakkan cleaved the last two goblins with his giant axe, and Hawk found a few coins on the bodies. Apparently, there seem to be a few more goblins scattered about the village, and Bert has a keen plan to deal with them. He's going to lure them inside, where we we can either pop them on their little green heads, or try and make one of them talk to us. I suppose I shouldn't talk about little goblin heads because mine is even smaller than theirs. At least it's not green!"
" So there are no people here after the giant attack? Do we know if the goblins and wolf-things were with the giants or just took the opportunity to scavenge after? We should really ask them....cos if they're just looting seems a bit harsh to be killing the little fellas."
"I agree Mandaway, which is why I tried to take one of the last ones without killing them, but someone had other plans," Bert says, with a short, but understanding, look at the goliath. "I think luring some of them in here may give us more options to talk with them instead of killing them in self defense."
He looks at Hawk, and says, "good point about bows, and they could also try to raise the alarm. Any suggestions for how to avoid both of those things? Anyone have the ability to get someone to rush in here, or be silent? Or do we just roll the dice, as they say..."
It’s tricky... perhaps we can persuade them that we mean no harm and ask to parley? Or maybe threaten then to drop their weapons if they want to live? Or maybe Zook can create the illusion of a Greenie in distress around here to attract them? Or maybe...
Hawk gets caught up in a series of ideas that just get stranger and stranger (or until someone interrupts). He then switches his expression completely and exclaims:
Should we raise the drawbridge so that nobody can escape while we figure out what is going on in this town? If it’s the only way on and off this island, then the worst we’ll have to deal with is already here and Greenie can’t run off to get reinforcements! There must be something out there that destroyed the town with those boulders, Giant or other... and we should try to know more before we get caught up against something beyond our current capabilities!
Bert tries to explain again that he saw four - two in he farmyard and two in the inn. He doesn't want Mandaway to almost die again so he suggested ambush rather than hunting around for them in the open.
To Hawk he suggests that parley and threats would work better after they run into an ambush here in the temple, and also that the illusion might work if it can be done, to entice the goblins to follow Bert into the temple.
He says why don't we try to have an illusory sound of a goblin crying out for help near the temple door, and then have Bert outside in the square, running straight to the temple when he sees a goblin that hears it and starts moving to the temple.

"Is everyone ready?"
Hawk looks pensive, he may be pondering on Bert's plan, but his thoughts are actually dwelling on the spelling of "Mielikki". M-Y-E-E-L-E-E-K-Y?
Out loud he says:
I'm game, but remember the Greenies have bows and arrows as well.. keep your distance.. But I can't see how anything could go wrong!!
He then goes to Forge and pokes him on the shoulder:
Hey Fire dude... I think we’re about to do something fun!

Mandaway got back to his feet, rubbing his side a little, " Lets go...you said theres only two yes, Bert?".
Mandaway is hoping to head for the " farmyard " next to the inn, " Two, we can threaten. I truly hope they will listen to reason."
(So who is doing what? Lots of potential plans have been made but I have no idea which ones are being enacted)
