It seems all my wild jumping around did was waste time and near get some folk killed, mea culpa. That said, I'd like one of those darn long bows!" He looks thoroughly disgusted with himself. Okay I'm going to call this. The way I see it Herman can probably win this final fight by himself without any help from the rest of you.
Genera sees something odd on one of the crazy survivalists and calls over one of the children "Look at this Alex" points at a very ornate wristwatch worn by the body (of the non-electronic, self-winding type) He steels himself and takes it of the body and looks at the back of it "This is my dads! The family got it for him on his 40th birthday."
"Im sure hes ok, these guys must have stolen it while they were asleep or something" comforting Alex and herself.
She gathers the arrows she can find and loots the CSs to find anything useable.
Investigation 14
Hide armour and shields of proper wooden construction. Machetes which count as longswords. Longbows obviously made not purchased but good quality 80 arrows. A map (hand drawn) showing a path to this farm. 4 hunting knives.

He takes a good look at the construction of the longbows. 'We really need to find someone who can replicate these. In the interim, happy to give teach the basics to anyone who wants to learn - Herman, maybe you can do the same with the swords here?'
'Professor, perhaps you can help Genera and the older kids tackle dinner? Max and Thomas will need the night to rest and Aleister will need to tend to them. That leaves just four of us to split the watch - I can take first watch, the rest of you can fight out who has to take what after that'
Aleister will use his healers kit on Thomas and, since he has already used that feature on Max, will clean and pack Max's wounds with a poultice of Yarrow (good for arresting bleeding), nightshade (good for reduction of pain) and an oregano paste (good for fighting infection); then bind up the wounds. Medicine check 18 "If you both lie quiet for the rest of the night and drink lots of the tea I'll make you you should at least be able to walk around in the morning." He swears to himself then says to the rest of the party, "We might have to say another day here if we want everyone fully up to strength; but that will give us a chance to get a few things straight and me a chance to search for some more wild medicines and maybe a few things that can add a bigger kick to any successful strikes against anymore idiots we encounter, and I'm sure there'll be more of those!

He will try to identify the wood they are made from, or, if by a small miracle they are laminate, what types of woods and other materials were used to make them.
