Food, booze prechange knives or tool... that sort of stuff" as practical to trade with the Apaches as warranted. OOC - Thomas renews Darkvision as needed on the party (8 hours) , and keeps a Disguise self active to hide his armor and Ghillie to look like leather clothing. (hourly) His saddlebags are Arcane Locked (Permanent), if possible. If not, Magic Mouth (permanent) on them to go off if they are opened (or cut open) by anyone other than Thomas. Magic Mouth is also on a half dozen small, flat stones marked on one side with a rune that will scream loud and long (10 minutes) when any creature larger than a dog passes within 30 feet, unless a password is heard within 10 seconds, once placed on a solid surface rune side down. All the party knows the password for these stones. (Subject to DM fiat)

Seeing Thomas start, Sarah slips one hand to draw an arrow and slowly readies her bow, searching the environment near them for a threat. Perhaps she's paranoid but better to look a fool than to be a sitting duck and Thomas wasn't the twitchy sort.
When the now-familiar contact goes silent, Thomas reaches out to his companion and hears nothing. Calling sharply up to George and the rest, he tells them. "Unless the magic of his form has been suppressed or something, the only way he'd be out of touch is if the form was destroyed. It takes an hour to call him back into a new form, so we need to find out what's happened." Thomas then drops his disguise and slips into the nearby shadows, staying near the group but looking for suspects. Perception 18

As he says this, he pulls his Ghille cloak up and takes cover on the side of the road, dragging Sarah along with him and making sure she's using the terrain to her advantage to disappear. 'Sarah, you stick close to me if things go sideways, we can support Uthvern and Max when they close in if we run into trouble. Anything you can do to keep them on their feet is good.'

When Thomas looses contact with his familiar Aleister will signal his ravens to perform a standard watch and report action. If they spot anything Ofn will stay loft and Terfysgeath fly back to Aleister and let him known what is going on.

Three people appear out of nowhere behind Max, Uthvern and George. You are surprised. They are armed with rapiers and are wearing studded leather armour.

F**kin' unbelievable. Invisible rogues attack and two of them miss plus the one that hits does wussy damage even when rerolling the weapon damage
George ducks under the first strike from the Ninjas and immediately drops back 25 ft from the combat, hoping to get clear and counting on his speed and armor to keep him safe. Once clear of their blades, he starts pumping arrows at their attackers.
