Sarah breathes a sigh of relief as she reads the Sparta file. ToC was safe, or at least as safe as things got in this world. Athens still bothered her and she hoped the others could figure it out.
"Anyone have the Mending spell? That might put these scraps back together."

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar

<As if I'm good for anything but poking holes in miscreants these days. Not that my dear great grand daughter can move herself to pay a gentleman such as myself the time of day, let alone permit him what little enjoyment I can gain from the world. Locked away such as I-.>
"Ah, I don't think Gramps can help," Sarah interrupts, her cheeks hot. "Granny can give you Guidance and I can help."
"Anyone able to give INT a boost of any kind?" Aleister queries. "What about you Granny? How about 'Gandpa' Sarah?"
Thomas has the best Investigation skill: +3 plus 1d4 from Guidance plus advantage from various actions. Someone wanted to make it very difficult to get any information from those papers.

"I think we should take them with us, preserve them as carefully as possible, and then I can see if I can figure out how to make something that will give a temporary boost to brain power, than we might be able to see what they say. All I know for sure is that having a good leg up in the art of infiltration would be a good thing as far as dealing with Portland."

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
'That's fine, but let's wrap this up and get moving. We still need to rig up carriers to move all the armor and mono-wire we found. I'm worried that while we've been here, our friend the Protector has been moving up North. Alestier - what do you need to turn our bikes into cargo carriers?
The citizens of ToC will assist you with your transportation issues in gratitude for fixing their genetically enhanced monster problem (and say, 10 of the armour?). They will supply a necessary number of horse drawn wagons and some armed troops to help you transport the items back to the marine base. Then the troops will return to town with the wagons.
Day 3 of your trip is coming to an end when ahead you see what looks like an Apache border patrol. As you get closer you see a familiar figure of Eliezer Feldstein. He greets you "Welcome back" he does a quick count "I'm sure there were fewer of you on the way through."
"We've had some success on many fronts, while we were away. Kol Ha-Kavod, we didn't lose anyone." Thomas replies to the question.

Is there anyway to boast Investigation modifier?

OOC - Edited - I was wrong. She has Guidance only, but yes, Help action as we work together to check the scraps out. She does have Mending, though!

The burnt documents are way beyond Mending

Thomas tries his best to make any sense of the destroyed papers:
Investigation: 20 plus Guidance 4
OOC - Ugh.

Uthvern nods, "That'd probably be best."

"It seems a fair bargain," Sarah says to her companions.
'That's more than fair - but we were happy to do the right thing and help rid this world of the old world's sins.'
Okay it was 10 days there so 10 days back. You are moving slower with your wagons but as a larger group there will be less chance of random trouble.
