Just before the troops prep and head out, Thomas reinforces his spells of DarkVision on everyone, then sends Gamliel aloft to scout ahead, this time watching out for errant hawks and other threats. Just to be safe, he also adds the spell of See Invisible on himself. "Unless they are galloping, we can catch up if we move quick. Humans have better endurance over long ranges. "
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
I hate eBay. Australia Post raised their rates so I went into eBay and found all the package items that where effected and reselected the postage option to update the cost. Today was my first sale after the change and when I was printing the postage label it was charging me a different amount from what I just changed in 50 or so listings (higher of course). I ring up the help desk and they are all surprised that their system is putting the wrong amount for postage into a million listings. Like I was the first person in Australia to complain. The nice lady said she would report this and an update would go through to update their system and I would be refunded the difference. This does nothing for existing listings so it was back in to track down all the wrong amounts and change them...AGAIN!
For future reference I'm going to try and remember when a fight might be starting to have you all remind me what spells may be running. Actually, remind me now what spells are running. It may matter.
You follow the tracks of the bad guys. As they seem to have their own eye in the sky are you keeping your birdies close at hand?
If we are talking about long time spells, the Darkvision, Disguise Self, Prestidigitation all last at least 1 hour. As a concentration spell, considering what the group just encountered, Thomas will be maintaining an Alter Self with the melee weapon option as claws. There are Arcane Locks on the saddle bags on his horse, as well. Magic Mouth is on various small stones in his possession as alarm traps, if that matters.

Aleister will concentrate on the tracks of whoever it is we're following, the Forest is his specialty after an hour they should be very difficult for him to lose.
Perception 18 Investigation 15
What does he learn from the tracks? The little minutia - things dropped; the gait of each horse; how they are moving through the forest, evidence of woodcraft of any sort; what, if any, food scraps left; things of that nature.
He will also look for Yarrow, potion of Fortitude (1d4 to CON for 15 min.); Buckeye and Castor Bean for, Oil of Slowness, applied to weapon edges (-1d4 to DEX, CON save for no effect)
Using his Herbal kit and Druidic focus, Medicine 16 , and DM approval of course, to make the stuff.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Sarah: Prestidigitation, Armor of Agathys, Darkness and Mirror Image.
Mirror Image has a duration of 1 minute and a casting time of two minutes so I don't see how you can have it running constantly during a forced march.
Darkness is a 15' radius sphere cast on an item. I assume you have this item covered because no one else can see in magic dankness and it would be obvious as hell during the day. This also suffers from the same problem as Mirror Image. Every 10 minutes you have to spend 2 minutes recasting it. It's the sort of thing you'd cast once you find your target (if you have time).

Looking for herbs while tracking your enemy during a forced march...um, no. You need time to scout around to find plants and stuff.
The tracks give an Indian vibe (as in Native American not Sikh warrior)

Gamliel is dead again. Did you know you can cast Invisibility on a hawk?
Usually you lot have the advantage of selecting the battlefield and catching the other side by surprise. Not this time, your opponent has a lot of power and knows how to use it to best advantage.
Post #2449 "Thomas then spends the time to summon Gamliel back, sticking to the form of the giant owl." concentrating on the invisibility would mean he can't concentrate on the Alter spell.

Sarah has a bead that she's used in the past that has Darkness on it. She keeps it in her pocket in between. I think she'd be willing to keep updating the darkness as rituals can be done while traveling. If you want me to switch to Hex, though, I will. Sarah's defensive options are just a bit bleak. I agree Mirror Image won't work.

I didn't mean you should cast Invisibility on your familiar, I meant the boss enemy cast Invisibility on the hawk. In message #2451 you " then sends Gamliel aloft to scout ahead". And he got wiped out by an Invisible hawk.
I know I've said that Paladins are best suited for this Changed world but I'm beginning to think that Warlocks are a close second.

Any target Aleister engages will be anointed with Hunters Mark first.
OCC How're the Marines doing? They are still with us, yes? A squad (5-6)?
After every long rest, Aleister will cast Goodberries and serve them up to the party 10 at a time.
Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
OOC: Can goodberries be saved? Then used as a potion (one action)?

Hunter's Mark takes 1 minute to cast so if you have a chance to spy out your quarry then yes.
George is casting Longstrider on 6 of you to help with the chase the Marines are following but falling behind.
No, they expire after 24 hours
