Once home again, Sarah regales her Granny with the story of the strange thing found inside the Prophet. She and Granny will do as much research and inquiring as she can among the magical folk as she can to get a better idea of what it was. Sarah also keeps an eye out for how their little deception worked out. Would the PPA and CUT go head-to-head? She hoped so!
Edit: She will also start that bestiary that she was grumbling about earlier. She will include descriptions and things of note of any of the... unusual creatures they've faced.
Granny has new spells, she can for example Animate Dead but she really doesn't want to. It feels like it might corrupt her connection to the divine.
Once back in Detroit Em will spend some time there to make sure the infrastructure of the society will be able to run without him being around constantly. Then, time permitting, he will do the following:
Spend time to meet up with Clan McKenzie to see how they are doing and pick up any interesting gossip/rumors that they might have heard about
Find ways to reach out logistically to where the rest of the party is based out of
Detroit is antagonistic with the PPA and the more alliances Detroit can forge, the better
Bike couriers for all!
Fabricate additional weapons for Em to carry while travelling:
Javelins (maybe with atlatls for increased range), bolas
Look into ways to upgrade his baseball bat; maybe adding spikes or blades to the face of the bat (looking to increase damage on bat in the form of static modifiers rather than increasing die size)
Summoned creatures are now a thing so silver weapons may come in handy
Will travel to meet up with the group and move with them
He believes he should move on to the next phase of development for himself in the post-Change world, which would be adding his abilities to allied groups
Edit: maybe look to trade up/fabricate armor up to either breastplate or half-plate level. or if you're feeling nice, any heavy armor variant. :]

Thats a good point about the silver. I think that might be a priority, now that you reminded me about that. Probably melt down as much jewelry Detroit can muster and coat some existing weapons and fab new ones using some silver in the alloys, or something like that.

How would this work mechanically?
Just mark one or more weapons as silvered, for use in emergencies (facing devils). Other types of summoned creatures require magic weapons, which don't exist. There are some spells Paladin- Magic Weapon, Druid - Shillelagh, Warlock class ability

Does this mean you're using older D&D rules for silvered weapons where they are less effective? Or going with 5e where its the same effectiveness. If it's the latter I would just coat my main weapon.
"Silvered weapons? What a capitol idea!" Aleister expostulates.
He'll add to his 'Happy Patch' : Clematis (blister agent); Castor Bean (Paralysis); Alfalfa (Blindness) - this one will be worked up as a powder to be thrown in the eyes of an opponent.
Will layout proposed statistics for approval soonish.
Have the boffins learned anything from the papers we brought back from the Southern Picnic?

George likes the silvered weapon idea - he'll work on options for his shortsword and a handful of arrows.
He'll also start working his intelligence network to map the contours of the CUT territory and try to assess their relationships with all the relevant powers.
Finally, he'd want to leverage their rescue of Chuck Barstow to learn more about and engage with the Clan MacKenzie. He's hoping to pick up some archery tips from them.

DM searches memory...papers? Is this about the second genetically modified creature that you have completely ignored? The one that is either a 1000 miles away or that may or may not have followed you home. Is that what you mean?

As the French discovered to their sorrow at Agincour, massed long bowmen are very hard to beat. 1000 archers can fire a million arrows in under 20 minutes.
The conflict with the PPA has settled into the cold war stage. Your false flag mission against the CUT has had some moderate success. There are reports of CUT PPA clashes and the Nez Perce Tribe has been left alone.
The PPA have begun to catch up to you on the magic front. The Protectorate has banned all magic except clerical magic used by their tame 'Pope' and his clerics. This has made the new Inquisition quite successful as no one gets past the Question when they can cast Zone of Truth.
The use of familiars and enspelled normal animals has become more difficult as the PPA now uses hawks and rat terriers to keeps creatures from spying.
What have you been doing in the interim?
Come next Monday I will be visiting my brother at Tamworth until after Christmas so I won't really start the next adventure till I get back home after Boxing Day. Merry Christmas to you all.
Thomas will silver his own weapons, including some crossbow bolts, as well as learning some different fighting styles and such. Moar magic, if possible.

Being silvered has no effect on a weapons normal damage.
Hmm, Sarah probably needs to scrape some silver together to give Gramps some new bling. He's technically not magical... Mind if I update him?

Oh and that code!
That's fine

We time jump to 5 years after the change

Aleister will ask Santa for a new "random" dice roller.
Happy Hallowgivemas to you all.
Can Aleister 'tame' 'make friends' with this creature that might or might not have followed us?
'Hey Ma! Looky what fallered me home!'
Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
You could, if you could work out where it is/what is it.
The papers we took from PPA and the book based code.
That code book is only good until they change books. The papers where mainly logistical in nature.
