DM, With what you've stated, can we assume we have all had +1 non-magical weapons made for our standard choices? Or rather, how many +1 quality weapons can each of us have in our inventory?

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Aleister will find a secluded spot, go into an Om state and bring to mind the creature we fought - as it was before it died- then use “Locate Animal”. When he does find it he will make sure all contact re-enforces the absolute promise that Aleister wishes no harm to come to it. If successful contact is established further efforts will ensue.

one. Quality can only go to plus one. Weapon quality can apply to blades and bows. Em uses a club, how does one improve the quality of a club?
There is a 3 year time jump so all this improvement in equipment can easily be justified.
OOC - a club could be made with a metal core and ridged rings in order to focus the impact on a smaller area, or it could knobbed and stubbled to increase it's effectiveness in doing damage through armor.

There is absolutely no similarity between the freaky, deformed thing you killed and the other one; as you would know if all the records related to it hadn't been destroyed. ;-)
It was a baboon the other thing isn't. Different species entirely.

Adding in balancing of the weapon, there's a multitude of characteristics that can be tinkered with for more effectiveness. It just depends on what the intent is -- the more specialized the attribute tuning the higher its effectiveness in that particular usage.
I'll be hitting the road soon. Posting will be limited while I'm visiting my brother. I'll be back home late Thursday so Friday before things are back to normal.
Aleister will start querying the denizens of the forest about any odd or unusual creatures lurking about. He will question the folks in and around town about any odd happenings, food missing in particular, but also the odd noise, perhaps the quick glance of something they later doubted seeing, etcetera. He will go on scouts hither an yon looking for sign. He will set up tell-tails (bits of food in the center of damp ground) and instruct the forest creatures to stay away; if they are hungry come see him and he'll take care of them.

There are some strange creatures but the turn out to be zoo animals released during the Change. If you looked at this from a story telling perspective, (we have all seen thousand of movies and TV shows) the plot twist where the genetically altered creature is revealed... isn't it horribly obvious?
I'm good to go but in no rush. RL has to come first. So, talking about food comas who had tasty treats for the holidays? We had hand-made Chinese dumplings and wontons for breakfast and a nice roast duck and fruit mince cheesecake for dinner. Anyone have goose? Always wanted to try one.
Okay. "Well it seems we were followed by a man made demon/cannibal from ToC; not exactly sure how but, it seems to be eating farm fresh food, including the farmers." He talks to everyone to see if they want to go investigate and solve the problem. He will show all the sword-swingers his new flame-paste (+1d4 dmg, 3 rds - that seem right?) as well as the sling bombs (range of about 60' or so, depending upon windage and launch/target height differential).
OCC Is Sharpen approved for use?

OoC: I am down for some hunting. Can the paste be used on any implement (say javelins)? Could I use my bat to launch the bombs, or do they explode on contact?

Holiday madness has us all in its grasp. Going to be a bit sporadic from my end too.
Lost, lost in the depths of present melee in the chaotic realms of consumption madness.

Yeah, consumption is one way of putting it. I've eaten too much homemade shortbread.... ugh.

Sarah has no idea what the creature is but so long as it's peaceable, she doesn't mind. She is curious, though.
There have been some outlying farms up near Pacific City where all the people have disappeared and they have asked for help to find out what happened.
Guess it's not peaceable then. Sarah's down for a good pincushion-ing.
I see that most of you are still in a food coma from your Christmas excess. That's okay, these games usually grind to a halt over Christmas/New Year.
I literally slept for twenty hours yesterday. And I'm largely just waiting on team.

OCC Very oily goose is.
