Thomas reports on Gamliel's find, as they hide the bodies and evidence of the combat. "How much space do you want to put between us? If we have time to dig a pit or trench, I can hide it for about 10 minutes at a time with an illusion of safe ground. Some place between natural channeling formations to guide them into it would be best. We can't just leave them alone, since we want to infiltrate their operations possibly. These fools would spoil that, if they report we were headed that way."
OOC - How far back are they? Going to have to pick up Hallucinatory Terrain at some point, if this is a regular thing.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar

The people following you aren't from Portland, they're from up north
They are a couple of hours behind you. Also, now that you have taken out the scouts marking your trail they may not be able to follow you at all - being basic fighting types. They where following the trail marked by the scouts, not you.
"Okay, your choice, people. We can easily out run them and leave them to muddle through nearly invisible tracks from our Steeds, or we have some time to plan an ambush. I vote for leave them to wander aimlessly and get on with our mission."

"Yeah, I also see no real reason in engaging unless necessary." Aleister shrugs. "Although," he grins. "It would have been fun to see the scum felled in traps of our own design."

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
‘I’ll have to agree with Aleister on that one. It would debilitate them and at the cost of setting some traps, we could maybe delay them a further day or two, for the necessity of tending their injured army. ‘ ’Why don’t we change direction to fool them? Since their only heading the same direction their scouts are telling them. Since the scouts are dead, they have nearly no means of tracking us. We want to be unpredictable.’
Fire bolt- Shoot a streaking ball of fire towards a foe and deal a measly 1d10 fire damage. Use eldritch blast instead.
Fireball - Drawing magic from your inner reserves, you unleash a devastating nuke that explodes in a circle, hitting multiple enemies, and burning them to a crisp with a godly amount of 8d6 fire damage. Make your DM’s fights look like garbage. It’s also a nice way of TPK your entire party and have them triggered at you for the rest of the week.
Aleister looks around, "If we're going to Portland and these goons aren't a real problem, then let's just lose them. I mean it is not as though we're running around out here dealing justice to all the finks we come up against, we're not the Justice League. Much as I like whack-a-mole do we have the time for that right now?" He spits vigorously, "Let's just lay a false trail, double back, wander up and down a few streams, brush out our tracks and leave 'em in our dust."

"Didn't Blaize say he could hide us and our tracks? That and our mounts would take care of it nicely."
OOC: Pass Without Trace, right?
Yes... but. I looked up the spell and it has a range of self. So it only works for the caster. I just need a decision. Attack the troops or bypass them and head to Portland.
It is targeted on self but has a 30' diameter aura effect;
For the duration, each creature you choose within 30 feet of you (including you) has a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks and can't be tracked except by magical means. A creature that receives this bonus leaves behind no tracks or other traces of its passage.
‘I dunno, should we flee? We could leave behind a present or two,’ Blaize smirks.

Pass without Trace sounds good, with a false trail leading off for a bit.

“Seems we’ll be off to see the wizard of portland and his pee pee’s,” Aleister says, the lower case emphasis obvious from his tone. “So let’s loose the bustards and be on our way.”

So how are you going to enter Portland. Are you going to stash your high tech armour somewhere or try to smuggle it in with you? What's the cover story?
OOC: We'll need to get some scouting done ahead of us but I believe the idea was to sneak in. Sarah can cast Invisibility on 2 targets. Pass Without Trace can give us a bonus to stealth too. But yeah, we need to know a way in.
OOC - Thomas can also invis 2 targets, and he's going to keep his armor on, as well as the Ghillie suit, and use Disguise Self to look as needed, where needed. Find a suitable spot to hunker down in before becoming visible, then use Clairvoyance to explore the place. Before they enter, however, Detect Magic to see what protections may be there to stop them waltzing in invisible.
