"If it makes people avoid us while we travel, so much the better. Avoided fights are the best kind. As far as heading out, a few more minutes should time it just right for a higher tide as we coast inland." With that, Thomas readies his ship, the Prim Sheila, and sails it as needed, where needed.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar

There is a town called Bay City around the bay, you only see 5 or 6 lights in the entire town. Going up the river about a mile you come to a bridge and you only have 10’ clearance. Can the boat pass that?
With help from the party, Thomas fuels the sail and unpins the mast, tilting it horizontal. With slow paddling against the current, they move the boat under the bridge a ways, drop anchor, and re-ship the mast and sail further.
Ooc- it’s possible to do, but moving the unpowered ship against the current will be the issue. Either rowing or someone tows it along the bank.

It will be more efficient to park it before all the work to get past the bridge and out with the bicycles.
While the team is unpacking the bikes, George scouts about 100 yards ahead looking for any evidence of survivors.

It's quiet where you are. It is in fact quiet all the way to the Doc's house. But as you are approaching you can see some figures moving around outside. The silhouette is that of an armoured and armed man. Four that you can see.
Whispering to George "What's the plan? Wait for them to leave, or ask some questions?"

Uthvern nudges George, "Pretty sure you're the sneakiest of us so you go on. Try and see what their saying. If push comes to shove," Uthvern shrugs and grins, "I be there like a bat out of hell!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
George nods his head quietly and shrugs on his Ghillie Cloak and begins slowly crawling through the underbrush to get close enough to hear what's being said:

There are eight guards moving around the outside of the house. They lack discipline and are whining about the cold, my armour chafes, I’m hungry, I’m tired, my feet hurt from all the walking etc etc. they are also unhappy about “Pacco” being inside with the “Sarg” trying to get the safe open. “Who puts books in a safe?”
They are wearing real chain mail with real shields and real longswords. Their shield and tabards have the sigil of the lidless eye.
'8 outside - at least 2 more inside. Armored up with swords and shields. No discipline at all.'
'Juliette and I can crawl in and get things started with a couple of shots - try to thin them out a bit. Once we get the first shots off the rest of you close in and hit them hard - focus our strikes and take them down one at a time.'

That armour looks badass as hell!
I suddenly realised, people will see this a scream “aliens!”. They’ll probably think you are the cause of the Change.
George:
'This armor is amazing - weird looking but amazing - we may be able to use it's unusual looks to our advantage.'
'I say we head out to hit the shore on schedule - Thomas, are we ready to go?'

Uthvern stands off to the side, dressed like an alien in the armour ready for what comes next.

Uthvern could tow it on land if need be, though he'd probably need help due to how heavy it is.

Or a sneaky person could stealth up to them in the dark and listen to what they are saying to each other.

Eva nods. “I like this plan. “
