"The 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption was the most destructive in U.S. history. Fifty-seven people died, and thousands of animals were killed,. More than 200 homes were destroyed, and more than 185 miles of roads and 15 miles of railways were damaged."
This amount of death and destruction may have left a residue that certain arcane rituals can draw on.
OOC: Ick. Yeah, I figured that might be it. Bloody necromancers.
"It makes sense. Those kinds of energies can stain a place for generations. Maybe we should contact Granny to see if she can purify some of that once we're done. Might still be beyond her but she might have an idea of what could help."
"I expect a lot of that type of people are swarming around where the World Trade Center went down.Ghouls and vultures, feeding off death."

Aleister just wonders what the bear is doing; does it seem to be following or leading this bunch of what-evers? Have the number of track makers increased at all? Is there any litter alongthe trail, as in stuff that might be dropped - stuff that might offer further information or guesstimates as to what is going on?

"You know there is all this weird scat going on and it seems to be increasing in occurrence." Aleister observes.

'weird scat' Funny you should mention that, you've been following this strange menagerie for 3 days and the bear hasn't taken a shit in all that time. Nether has the horse nor most of the people.

'Well, on the bright side, at least they're not Eaters. Let's find this foul scum and wipe them from the planet. Sweet Jesus, what kind of world is this...'
George takes to slinking ahead of the group, looking to find their quarry and hopefully ambush them along the road.

George and your eyes in the sky warn that you have caught up with the bizarre caravan. George peaks from the foliage and sees that there are three people, one with strange tattoos on his face in splint armour and shield armed with a flail. The other two are in plate with two handed swords. The is a menagerie of walking dead. A bear and horse and 10 ex people
Upon hearing the report, Thomas says "That Magic Circle spell will block undead from reaching anyone inside it. Should we lure them to a preset ambush point where we can have one set up? Even have a Tower inside it as a reinforced position? That way we set the battleground and have a distinct advantage over what they plan."

Aleister will use 'Hunter's Mark' on the tattooed sun of a beech; Staying out of range, like 50-60' from any close combat untill he has no choice but to engage.

If we are prepping before initiative, Thomas will lay down a Magic Circle vs Undead and fiends (just in case). If we have more than 10 minutes, he will also 'build' a Tower, but that's stretching it, I think. After the Circle (and other) is in place, he will offer to rush out, shoot a fire arrow or two and rush back.
Initiative. 11
He will use his Steed's speed of 110 to move into crossbow range, fire at least one fire arrow at the Necromancer and then, if he starts sending missiles or monsters after him, move back fast out of range, then shoot again, harassing the monsters.
Oh, and the Steed will be using Dodge as it's action to help Thomas out.

OOC- Moe, if you want, take a Steed and do the same, if you want to be bait.

OOC - Who needs subtle? We can do this all night long - chase them down, pop up defenses, snipe at them until they drop.

Any sign that there was anything eaten along the way, grass or leaves, bark, flesh of any kind - bones?
Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Mostly no, indications are that there only couple of people eating in this group

Copy that. Will do.
Sarah takes a place either in the Circle or Tower that gives a clear line of sight. Once in position, she does her best to hide.
