“Interesting spells,” says Hadrian, musing over the scrolls. “Some of this magic is beyond my power. Perhaps these treasures should go to young Rose and Thorne.”

(I don't think that your level matters when using the scrolls. Either way, you definitely know that it's definitely beyond the powers of Rose and Thorn, who are 10 and 7)

Fae bounces up and down. "Yay magicky stuff, gimme the letter!"

Fae reads the letter and sees the exact same thing that he did.

“Were going to have to tell the kids. But I think first we should find out where Mommy and Daddy dedicated to cut up people and get rid of any evil spirits that may still be around.” Enialis suggests to the group. 

(So where are you going now?)

“I’m not quite sure that this baby is still alive,” says Hadrian, “and I’m less and less convinced that things are as they seem here. Still, on the chance that the child could be saved, we should search the rest of the house.”

Hadrian will suggest that we search the rest of the third floor, and then proceed to finish up searching the ground level.

"Didn't the letter mention a stillborn son?  And there was a shroud over the cradle.  I don't like the way things are turning out..."  Phanuel follows the group to whatever horror they find next.  He's not backing out of the exploration, just a bit worried about the state of things here.

"I'm sure it'll be fine!" Fae says airily. "You have to be optimistic. Let''s go back upstairs!"

You all return upstairs. The northern room is still unexplored, but first, everyone make a Perception check.

Enialis: You're in a house

Fae and Phanuel: You don't see anything out of the ordinary.

Elyse: You see a secret door in the west wall.  It pushes open easily to reveal a cobweb-filled wooden staircase leading up to the attic.

"This way," is all Elyse says as she heads up the stairs, still holding the glaive at her side.

You all move up the cobweb-filled staircase into the attic hall which is choked with dust and cobwebs. There are four doors in this hall; two on the north end and two on the south end. Which door do you enter first?

Elyse will open the first door on her left.

Hadrian follows, shield at the ready.

Hadrian and Elyse enter into a spare bedroom. This web-filled room contains a slender bed, a nightstand, a rocking chair, an empty wardrobe, and a small iron stove. There is nothing of note in here.
