Manfred steps close to Penumbra, and gently strums his lute. The music drapes around the room with gentle healing waves, but with Penumbra as its focal point. (24 hp back)
The guardhouse certainly seems secure enough that you could take a long rest here. The wind blowing through the mountain pass masks any mundane noises you make, so it seems the dragon remains unaware of your presence here. (If you want, you can take a long rest and start up first thing in the morning!)
"Perhaps it's best if we do take a night's rest before continuing on..." Wakka pondered out loud as he took a better look around the guardhouse they were in. "If we end up clashing with the creature soon, I'd rather be as prepared as possible, both mentally and physically. Thoughts?"
Manfred nods. ‘A good long rest will do us all good. Give me a few minutes and I’ll rustle us up Leomund’s Tiny Hut to keep us extra safe and comfortable...’
The magical hut keeps the party warm and safe, a welcome change from the bitter cold always sapping away your energy. In the night you hear the sounds of the dragon taking flight - probably going hunting. Shortly after sunrise you hear it return to the main fortress structure. You wait an hour, listening and peering through the arrow slits in the barbican to make sure the beast is settled in for a nap after feeding.
Perkas thanks Manfred for making the but for them to sleep in. While they are waiting for the dragon to nap Perkas wants to search the area for anything of use, like bolts or anything the bandits before them may have missed.
Investigation: 8
When the group is ready, ”well how do you want to proceed? Are we walking in the front door, or should we see if there is another way in?"
Manfred looks around at the group. ‘I’d like a go at persuading it to leave peacefully, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look around first. We might learn something helpful...?’
"I agree. Asking it to leave nicely seems like a good way to start, followed by maybe agreeing to do/ help it with something in exchange for leaving; leaving a fight as our last resort. I'm not sure how big of a dragon it is but only fool would underestimate one, no matter their size." Wakka commented after resting the previous evening
(I think it's ice, due to how we found the orcs frozen)
Perkas nods in agreement "I would prefer not to meet my maker sooner than expected, so I agree with leaving the fighting to a last resort." She calmly thinks for a minute. "I don't know why it would want to leave if it's got a good food source...To learn about such a great creature and it's habits first hand would surely be a benefit."
Though her wounds are healed Penumbra welcomes the chance to rest up before meeting a dragon. She finds a spot inside the hut sits with her back to the wall and gets some sleep.
In the morning Penumbra exits the hut to stretch her wings. "Thanks for the lodging Manfred, I don't suppose you can magic us up a complimentary breakfast?" She says with a smirk. After settling for some dry rations for breakfast Penumbra prepares to meet a dragon. "So who's gonna do the talking?"
Manfred flourishes a bow ‘Why, your charming bard of course! I might sometimes trip over my own tongue while trying to extricate our forthright warrior here from a social faux pas,’ he smiles to Wakka at this point, to show he’s teasing, ‘but I’m certainly, based on my understanding, our best chance to negotiate it into moving to other climes.’ he frowns at this point, thinking.
There are two dragons that have ice/cold breath weapons - white and silver. The smallest, least intelligent, and most animalistic of the chromatic dragons, white dragons dwell in frigid climes, favoring arctic areas or icy mountains. They are vicious, cruel reptiles driven by hunger and greed. Conversely, silver dragons are generally the friendliest and most social of the metallic dragons who often assist good creatures in need.

’Where would we ask it to move to?’

"Far enough away that it doesn't bother the guild anymore I suppose. I'm sure you'll think of something when the time comes." Wakka replied as he patted Manfred on the shoulder. Stepping forward towards the nearby stairway, Wakka turned to the others with a grin and asked, "Well shall we get the show on the road? Probably shouldn't keep our reptilian friend waiting."
‘From what I remember of white dragons, there’ll be some quick talking to avoid a scrap, so be ready for anything...’ Manfred advises, suddenly a little nervous...
"You will be alright Manfred. Although with how sure Wakka is maybe you both should devise a plan." With a readjustment and double check that all is well with her supplies she follows Wakka.
This solid stone bridge spans the 35-foot gap between the gatehouse and the main fortress, 50 feet above the trail that passes underneath it. The bridge is edged by 3-foot-high stone railings.
Mounted to the fortress wall north of the door is an iron bell with a short, rusty chain dangling from it. The door stands ajar, its crossbar broken. Damage to the door suggests it was forced open at some point.

Perhaps nods with walks "I'm down a little, that bugger managed to get a bolt at me. I'll be fine for now with a nights sleep if we can get it."
