"I don't need magic to be invisible." Penumbra says as she melts into the shadows.
Stealth: 32
Penumbra heads up the stairs making her way towards the bridge. She keeps an eye open for any sort of traps or hazards as she goes. Once she reaches the doorway to the bridge she will pause and examine the bridge as well as listening for any sign of a dragon.
Penumbra fades into the shadows...actually becomes the shadows. A cold, howling wind blows hard, preventing you from hearing anything. But you see no signs of the dragon. From your observations earlier you know the dragon landed on the roof of the fortress and has not left.
Penumbra makes her way across the bridge and checks the door then returns to the group.

"Well I haven't been eaten, but I had a thought while I was being invisible. If you are gonna try being diplomatic perhaps I shouldn't sneak in uninvited. I think it might be better to try knocking."
(Wakka is walking across the bridge to enter the fortress. Penumbra and Perkas think knocking, or ringing the bell, would be prudent. Manfred sounds like he could go either way. The door is ajar and you can enter without moving it. So unless anyone moves to stop Wakka:
Fortress Entrance
This short, empty corridor has arrow slits in the north and south walls, and a closed door in the west wall. It is 5' wide and 10' long.
Perhaps nods in response to manfred. "Well it's open, just be careful and look out for traps. This was still a fortress before the dragon got here ya know." She whispered to the others.
There are no traps in this entryway. It is a small area obviously used to trap and "dispose of" attackers. The next door is closed, it does not appear to be locked or trapped. You can look into the arrow slits and see a long, narrow passages leading north and south. They are dark, but let in a little light from the other arrow slits along the way...
OOC: Sorry I misunderstood, I thought we had to go either north or south. Wakka will go through the western door then. Let me know if I need to reroll :)
The door opens easy enough, although you can see the fittings on the back to bar the door. Beyond is a 30'x25' audience chamber. There is a large fireplace on the north wall, and another door in the southern wall. Shields, weapons, and tapestries once festooned the walls here, but were tore down and destroyed, presumably by invading orcs years ago. A dozen humanoid skeletons in rusty armor lie scattered amid the debris. Painted on the stone floor is a 10-foot-diameter, shield-shaped crest that features a black tower being struck by a golden bolt of lightning — the emblem of the warlord Delsendra Amzarr. Manfred detects three stirges fluttering about the cold and dismal hall.
(Map updated. Wakka is inside the room, Manfred is next to the door but outside the room, followed by Penumbra and then Perkas.)
"Where?" Wakka asked as he looked around futilely. "I'd rather not surprise the dragon this way so maybe a quick, coordinated strike to silence them would be best." Wakka offered.
Seeing Wakka struggling to see the stirges where they are, Manfred moves to within 20feet of them, and opts to throw a dagger at one of them, quickly drawing another dagger...

Manfred nods ‘I was hoping we might understand the lay of the land in case things went bad, but I guess we can wing it if needed, no pun intended!’
He rolls his shoulders, settles the lute into position on his hip. ‘Shall we go then?’
"Penumbra does have a point there. Worst case if there is no answer I guess we could go in anyway, or look for another way in."

"Lets just walk in through the front door and see what happens..." Wakka commented as he began to move across the bridge towards the fortress.

'I'm erring towards looking around before we wake the dragon...' says Manfred quietly, starting to feel nervous about the next few minutes or hours...

On a whim, Wakka headed to the northern path at the intersection and attempted to peer around the corner to see what was beyond.

Manfred is waiting by the open door until the way ahead is scouted, and listening intently for trouble...

‘Stirges!’ whispers Manfred urgently, pointing, followed by ‘Don’t tread on the crest!’
He pulls out a dagger, ready to throw it when or if Wakka draws he attention of the stirges (or if Manfred does!)
