Rhanloi's Romp Through the Sword Coast

"Change of plans, they have hostages..." Wakka whispered.  "I'm gonna make a scene, you guys try and save them." Wakka added before charging down the stairs.  Pointing first at the chanter on the table, he focused and threw a side table as hard as he could at the leader before pointing to a second cultist (the orange one) and attempting to shove them away from the hostages.  "I think we've all had enough rain for one day."  he commented to the room as he charged towards the one he had just thrown (the orange one) and attempting to block them off from the hostages.

• Action: Telekinetic Movement - "Throw" the table to the right of black cultist at him (ideally with enough force to disrupt the lead cultist and/ or knock him down)
• Bonus Action: Telekinetic Shove (against Orange Cultist): DC14 STR Save or shoved 5ft away
• Movement: Get as close to the Orange Cultist as possible. 

Leaving Tallow and Genren, for now, to deal with the prisoners, Manfred turns his attention (and ire!) onto the cultist most recently working on the ritual, and starts whisperingwhisperingwhispering in his direction....

(Dissonant Whispers for 20 psychic damage, DC15 WIS ST for half damage and to avoid fleeing)

Surprise round!

• Wakka pulls a full "Poltergeist" on the unsuspecting cult, flinging tables and bodies! (Backes' DC13 Dex save: 17. Cultist DC14 Str save: 8) The fighter then rushes around the stairs, leaps over the table and comes between the fanatic (blue-gray), the cultist (orange) and the steps up to the villagers.
• Genren, doing his best impression of your friendly neighborhood Spiderman, walks up the wall over the front doors and shoots the fanatic, then directs his dancing blade to follow-up with a swift strike, nearly killing the robed man!
• Tallow comes around the edge of the staircase, lines up the fanatic and cultist that Wakka just shoved, and shoots forth a caustic spray that melts the face of the fanatic and (DC16 Dex: 12) ??? the orange cultist.
• Manfred tries to get into Backes' mind, whisperingwhisperingwhispering... (DC15 Wis: 6)

• The red-orange cultist steps up and strikes at Wakka with his scimitar. (Attack: 12 Damage: 4)
• Tallow...?
• Backes stops his chanting and yells out a warning before jumping off of the table, drawing two shortswords, and engaging Wakka in a deadly melee! (Attack 1: 27 Damage: 19 // Attack 2: 19 Damage: 9 // Attack 3!: 8 Damage: 6)
• The yellow cultist moves around to the edge of the staircase and attacks Manfred with a scimitar. (Attack: 19 Damage: 7)
• Genren...
• Manfred...
• Wakka...

Manfred grits his teeth as the blow lands (DC10 CON ST to maintain concentration - 14), and quickly whispers something to the (yellow) cultist...

Grenren continues to circle around on the walls until he is able to jump off and get in close to the prisoners. He sends out his dancing weapon to strike at nearest cultist (red) before firing an arrow at him as he takes a half shuffle back to set his sights: 

Bow: Attack: 26 Damage: 7

Dancing weapon: Attack: 15 Damage: 7

Sneak attack if applicable since he's engaged with Waka: 13

Tallow waves his spoon in a figure eight and shouts "Creme Brule!" A bolt of fire explodes from the bowl of the spoon towards Backes Attack: 21 Damage: 8 

Round 1 (con't):  

• Tallow shoots a bolt of fire at Backes, hitting the man in his chest.
• Genren Spider-walks around to the stage before attacking the cultist, killing him with a quick one-two combo.
• Manfred gets into the mind of his opponent and dropping the weakling to the floor, blood flowing from his ears, nose, and eyes! (DC15 Wis: 2)
• Wakka...

Seeing Genren covering the captives, Wakka turned to the leader and attacked him with all his might!

• Attack: Hit 13/ Damage 15 Slashing
• Extra Attack: 28 (Nat 20!!)/ Damage 16 Slashing + 4 Cold + 15 Force = 35 Total Damage
  • Using (1) charge of Bite of Winter & (1) Psionic Energy Die for extra damage (with double dice due to Crit)
• OOC: @Rhanloi, did you already subtract the Damage from Wakka's sheet or do still need to do that?

• Wakka misses with his first attack, but his follow-through cuts into the man's muscle-bound arm. (@Zoldier - I already subtracted the damage from your character sheet - should be -27 hp)

• Responding to Backes' shout, two new cultists run in from the courtyard/stable area! (Red and Green)
• Tallow...

Tallow sees the Red and Green cultists and shouts to them:  "It's shocking that all of you would get mixed up with some stupid cult!"  

Tallow will use his Staff of Thunder and Lightning to make a lightning strike against the two new assailants Dex save of DC17 taking half damage on success. 28

• Responding to Backes' shout, two new cultists run in from the courtyard/stable area! (Red and Green)
• Tallow lets loose a bolt of lightning against the two new opponents, channeling the fury of the storm outside towards these two and frying them both. (DC17 Dex: Red 7; Green 8 - even half damage will finish these off!)
• Backes presses the attack against Wakka, the blood-lust evident in his glare! (Attack 1: 13 Damage: 11 ; Attack 2: 10 Damage: 8 ; Attack 3: 27 Damage: 18)

Quickly stowing his lute on his back, Manfred pulls out his rapier and runs into the room, lunging for Backes, the fingers on his other hand drumming out a rhythm to keep the thread of his control of the weather running while he does so.. (17 to hit, 7 piercing damage)

Spotting Wakka's injuries, he finally utters a resonant word of power, filling him with renewed vigour... (9hp back for Wakka)

Genren will look at the hostages and give them a confident smile, "Be calm, once we deal with this one I will set you free... for now stay behind me as no harm will come to you on our watch. Heads Up Wakka!" 

The elf  takes aim with his longbow once again, shifting his weight and adjusting his angles to shoot around his ally. He takes in a deep meditative breath before letting loose his arrow in one smooth motion(using bonus action for steady aim rather than dancing weapon. It'll hover near me in case more enemies arrive).

• Genren makes an expert shot, hitting Backes in the shoulder.
• Manfred runs behind Backes, but the man uses his weapons to block the bard's rapier attack.

Continuing his clash with the leader, Wakka did his best to parry the enemy's blows while finding the perfect opportunity to finish them off once and for all!

• Attack: Hit 13/ Damage 11
• Extra Attack: Hit 26/ Damage: 8 + 4 Slashing & Cold Damage (using (1) charge of Bite of Winter)

• Wakka hits once with his follow-through, continuing to wear down the surprisingly strong man!

Round 3: Tallow(-0) :: Black Backes(-89) :: Genren(-14) :: Manfred(-9) :: Wakka(-44)

Tallow will look at Backes and move as necessary to get a good shot and shout "Creme Brule!" as a fire bolt Attack: 25 Damage: 7

• Tallow hits Backes with a fire bolt - and is surprised when another sphere comes at the enemy...seems the gnome finally followed you downstairs and is leaning aroud the edge of the staircase, hand outstretched from the spell she cast! (Attack: 11 Damage: 9)
• Backes yells at you "You can't stop us! Talos will rip the skin from your bodies with his power and wash your unworthy bones into the sea!" He disengages from Wakka before moving into the kitchen and down a trapdoor to the basement!
