"If you're offering, I wouldn't turn it down," Darvin replies to Kaelani, rubbing a gash in his arm. "From the looks of you, I'm guessing you might have something more potent than I do?"
Kaelani reaches out with his Divine Sense and is immediately alrted to the presence of undead nearby. He quickly pinpoints their locations and realizes he senses the presence of the undead at each of the pillars that line the front of the chapel.
Kaelani make an Intelligence (History) check and then an Intelligence (Arcana or Religion) check
Tibi flies over the building and in the back can see a pit. (G6) The path around the chapel has been sundered by a deep hole in the ground, filled with a putrid purple mist. The haze filling the hole blocks any sense of how deep it might be, or of what might lie within.
He can also see into the back of the chapel and sees that the once-beautiful main area of the chapel is littered with broken furnishings and splintered chairs.
About now Tibi returns from his reconnaissance of the other side of the chapel in order to hear Kaelani say "Be ready, companions. I sense several undead creatures - one at each of the columns here! Shall we dispatch them?"Just as Kaelani finishes making his suggestion he hears a voice from above "Oi Sobpa you and I are going to have words one day if you keep insisting on taking on the role of Decionist in this company!"He turns to the others and continues "before you follow this bloke into an attack - you might be interested in knowing that there is a rather large hole on the other side of the chapel which is filled with a putrid purple mist and could be a portal of some sort."
Drabash has a think as he scratches his chin. "How about we deal with the undead and then investigate the mist? As my Pa would say, 2 birds one stone!"
Kaelani will pass on any insights he recalls from his history studies. He then stands ready to take care of the undead creatures he detected at the front of the building.
"Right lets work from north to south. Drabash you take the two north of the steps and protect our backs while Reya and Kaelani work their way south from the stairs. I'll come in from the east. Darvin you provide fire support please. Ok people lets go!"Tibi says. Once people are in position he swoops in and attacks the third undead south of the steps Attack: 26 Damage: 8 and Attack: 26 Damage: 7 plus sneak attack 10 before flying past (Fancy footwork) to a height and distance of about 20 feet away.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kaelani grins and steps forward, concentrating for a moment before twin flashes of light streak towards the first two undead in his designated zone (so columns 3 and 4). On a hit, the next attack roll made against these targets have advantage, thanks to the mystical dim light glittering on them! "Let's shed some light on these subjects, shall we?"
(OOC: I'm going to bot Drabash as Zipnok (aka Jono) has just flown out from Perth - he was in quarantine over Christmas - to start work at a goldmine at a place called Jundee which for those who are interested in Australian geography is as they say the middle of bloody nowhere - its approximately 1,000 km to the northeast of Perth in an area that Herbert Hoover once described as as a land of "black flies, red dust and white heat")
Drabash sketches a salute to Tibi and leaps up the steps. He engages the first undead with his battle axes: Attack: 13 Damage: 7 - right hand Attack: 27 Damage: 13 - right hand Attack: 8 Damage: 11- left hand (bonus action)
Kaelani can see that the pillars have images of persons etched onto them and suddenly realizes that they resemble heroes of Elturel’s past. He recognizes Agnithar, Zokel of Torm, Bertra Zomes, Yevina Druen, Ca’sar, and Xivik Looren though a couple of the other pillars he cannot recall the names. He also understands that a pillar can be empowered with radiant energy if the name of the hero it represents is spoken aloud as an action.
As the group steps closer to the pillars and Kaelani senses the presence of the undead they come out of the pillars and reveal themselves.
The party quickly leaps into action to eliminate the threats as quickly as possible.
Tibi quickly destroys a Shadow as Drabash does the same
Kaelani lights up a Specter nearest to him though it is still up.
Reya swings her blade at another.
Attack: 22 Damage: 8
Attack: 15 Damage: 5
But is disappointed to see that while she made solid hits he steel doesn't seem to be as effective as the other's magical blades.
Kaelani again calls on the magical power coursing through his blood, sending twin streaks of light at two of the undead creatures by Reya and Darvin (we're the ones south of the steps, right?) "The signs indicate our victory this day! Press on, strike hard!" he calls out to help motivate the party.
Guiding Bolt 1 Attack: 23 Radiant Damage: 13 Guiding Bolt 2 Attack: 16 Radiant Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. On a hit, the next attack roll made against these targets have advantage, thanks to the mystical dim light glittering on them.

You're having fun playing your character as you alluded to in the PM and I'm having fun being a Bossy Boots - no worries from my end.

Darvin is up
Darvin runs up to help Kaelani, and tries to finish off the specter with his rapier of warning, then assumes a defensive stance.

(Current AC is 26 if that hit)
If the specter is dissipated, he uses the remainder of his movement (40' in total) to advance toward the pillar Reya is standing at.

Between Darvin and Kaelani the 2 shadows and the specter are destroyed.
One shadow remains by Drabash and the other specter's location is unknown.
Tibi flips his short sword to Reya saying “you may find this of use next time. I’ll get it back later.”
