This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Everything is going through it," Darvin says with a puzzled expression. "How are we supposed to destroy this thing?"
"I wonder..." he backs away from it, testing whether it will react.
He then fires a beam of magical force through his rapier at the thing, as he continues to move backward toward the door.
Attack: 15 Damage: 5
OoC: These attack rolls are not helping. It is at least immune to cold, and either has an AC of at least 20 or is also immune to even magical piercing damage. Was hoping to test whether force damage could hurt it, if only Darvin had any ability to aim.
Whistler thinks for a moment and sheathes his sword. Taking the dodge action, he whistles to get the groups attention and starts to walk back out of the room, not taking his eyes of the weapon to see if it follows or stays where it is.
"Well... I really really need a rest now... Glad we didn't rest in that room! Can you imagine if I hadn't found that axe and it attacked us while we were taking a quick nap!" The verdan would say leaning heavily against his staff.
"Alright, let's see if we can find a quiet place to sit for a bit," Darvin says. Maybe in the little room just up out of the water, at the L-shaped bend in the passage? We shouldn't get any surprises from this side, and it should be fairly easy to keep watch to the north.
Can you imagine if I hadn't found that axe and it attacked us while we were taking a quick nap!"
Tibi laughs at Gil's rationalisation "but if you didn't keep sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong you wouldn't have woken up the axe or whatever was wielding it!"
"Hey now! I have an important job! To collect and keep track of treasure... which means I have to look for it." He would say as he wipes blood from his face with his sleeve. "I take my job very seriously..." He would say as he slouches down against the wall. "This.. seems like a good spot for a rest.." He would say as he struggles to keep his eyes open.
"Tymora bless me" Tibi calls as he attempts to hit the haft of the battle-axe with a crossbow bolt and pin it to the wall Attack: 12 Damage: 8
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Tibi's bolt flies through the spectral axe and snaps against the far wall.
With Gilbert having fled the room, the axe turns on Whistler
Attack: 17 Damage: 9

Hearing Whistler's whistle, Tibi turns and sees the Kenku leave the room "good idea" as he too backs away from the room

As each of you leave the room the axe continues to swing as it hovers over the empty coffin. It does not follow you out of the room.
"WHAT WAS THAT THING?!?" Gil would say as he gasps to catch his breath as black blood pours from his body.
Whistler shrugs at Gilbert's question. He then turns to Tibi and with some awkward gesturing asks if they can try and sneak past it?

You are able to take a rest in the small room off of the main corridor. Long or short?
Gil would be ok with a long rest.. but a short rest is fine
OoC: Ok with just a short rest for now. Hoping we can get through this dungeon and then go to sleep above ground.
