Zurzg cocks his head to the side and appeared confused at first. Although memories were fuzzy these days, there were some there regarding the many, many, many times Margaret at least had been wary of even letting others be in the lead by no more than ten feet of the party, paranoid of danger, and rather keen to voice it. Or perhaps she didn't want him to lead by that far ahead still?
After scratching his head at that he just shrugged, gave a two fingered salute, and press on further down the channel for the forge room itself. He tries to keep an eye out for both danger and dastardly webbing in need of a good burn. But still not fully understanding or caring too much. If its possible for his small bodied figure to slip past and keep ahead quietly, then he did so trusting the others to handle most of the burning.
And when its possible only THEN did he break out his own torch again to start carefully cooking the webbing as before.
Zurzg, you carefully approach the corner of the channel from time to time burning strands of spider-silk where necessary. When you look around the corner, you see a giant spider on the ceiling above the funrnace, 3 bugbears who took cover behind corners and the waterwheel, as well as Nobody, who is restrained, gaged and held at knifepoint by one of the drow, who looks expectingly in your direction. It doesn‘t seam as if he saw Zurzg yet, but because of the torch and the glowing piton, you are sure he knows your group is there.

Zurzg does as quick a headcount as he can, nods to himself, and quietly motions for the others to stop before scrabbling back to the others. In a surprisingly and in someways disturbing non-Zurzg way, he whispers concise details on the location of enemies and their numbers. He only hesitates at the Nobody party, and appeared to be weighing the pros and cons of his next words before finally coming out and admitting the tiefling's condition.
He can only shrug at any further inquiry about Nobody's condition, and would plainly shake his head at any hope of being able to sneak around to help there. "Maybe snake have chance to? If close enough, maybe wizard do something? But they have good idea we're coming this way. May suspect if take too long." He adds at a whisper and nods sagely. "If only Zurzg could get close. He could easily smash elfie dead."

(Familiars are feys/fiends or celestials, but they have the stats of creatures, i can‘t find anywhere that they gain speach or higher inteligence, so i will rule that a 1 Int snake does not understand a telepathic message from someone beside its master. Unless someone has a better argument i will say that it requires either a shared language or at least an intelligence of 6 to have some kind of communication with the message cantrip.)
