After seeing the two get up safely, Effort will use thaumaturgy again to open the windows at Brask‘s shout.
(if she can‘t from this angle, she will misty step up there, avoiding the flames, and do it. MS is a bonus action, but AFAIK we‘re not in combat yet anyhow.)
Burik will run through the flames on the left, hoping the barrier will hold for long enough. He'll look for any walls weakened by the flames near the boys as he approaches.
Burik, as you charge forward into the flames, you look ahead to the far end of the barn. It isn't difficult to see that the back wall that the boys are up against is starting to fall away as the flames do their damage - it looks like it would be easy to push through or knock down, although the drop to the hard earth below is at least 30 feet. Maybe more. There are also the open windows on your side of the barn, although that would require bringing the boys back through some pretty intense fire. As you continue to run through, it lashes at you again, almost angry. Roll another DEX save. DC15 or suffer 5 fire damage. Take half damage on a successful save.
Brask, running down the right side of the barn is more straightforward and the flames aren't as bad - which is good, considering, ya know, all the fur - but the smoke is absolutely suffocating. Effort misty steps up to the loft, thinking she'll open the windows, but when she gets there the windows are actually open, with the air coming in them pushing the smoke against the left side of the barn, where there aren't windows. She's not sure if closing them would help or make things worse. You can roll an investigation check if you'd like to ponder this.
About halfway through, Brask can't avoid it anymore and accidentally sucks in a big inhale of smoke. Brask, roll a CON save. DC15 or suffer 6 damage. Take half damage on a successful save.
You can almost see the windows shutting and the smoke filling the loft, suffocating everyone and filling your lungs with dark, cloudy fumes. It seems like a very bad idea.
Effort turns towards the left side of the barn and immediately begins casting eldritch blast at the wall there, trying to destroy it to let some of the choking smoke out.
The boy who looks older is maybe 10 or 11. He's currently conscious and kneeling over his brother, who looks to be 6 or 7 and is at best unconscious. The older brother looks in bad shape too, disoriented and nauseous from the smoke, but is at least somewhat alert.
Effort blasts the barn ceiling near one of the windows, opening up a bigger hole as a giant plume of built up black smoke exits the barn. It seems to relieve Brask of some difficulty breathing in as he makes his way toward the children, although it doesn't completely remedy the problem. He is nearing the end of the barn, but the smoke gets thicker again as he runs away from the large opening. Roll another CON save with advantage thanks to Effort's blast. DC15 or take 7 damage. Half on a successful save.
Burik reaches the children first. The stout dwarf is able to avoid most of the larger flames, and only suffers a few small burns on the way down the length of the barn loft. He's confident he can break through the wall here and survive the fall, but carrying and positioning both children safely might be difficult. He turns to see Brask struggling, but almost at the back of the building.
Up to you if you want to grab both kids or just one (either the older, conscious boy or the younger, unconscious one).
Burik will break a big hole in the wall, getting the boys to breathe the fresh air from outside. He keeps looking back towards Brask and the fire, waiting for him to get there. "Hurry!" If the fires start getting too close or the boys get worse before Brask can get there, he'll take both and try the jump. Otherwise he'll take the unconscious one when Brask gets there. (also if there's time before the jump and the unconscious boy is not obviously alive (chest moving from breathing etc.), he'll cast spare the dying on him)
The older boy crawls toward the opening in the roof, sucking in fresh air but still looking quite panicked. Brask arrives coughing uncontrollably, but still on his feet. Burik leans down over the unconscious boy, casting his spell as quickly as he can. He then scoops him up, and turning toward the opening, jumps out and turns his body to take the brunt of the fall. The ground comes up to meet him quickly, as he slams down with a heavy thud, taking 13 damage. Still cradling the boy, he carefully rolls over and places him on the ground.
Brask and the older boy are still standing in the burning loft. As Brask turns to look back out the way he came, a huge section of the burning roof caves in, wiping out part of the loft and separating him from Effort and the ladders.
How far is the gap? Does it look jumpable? Brask can jump eighteen feet with a decent run-up.
If it's feasible, he will just grab the kid, carry him fireman-style, and jump over to the ladders. If needed, he will use an action surge to dash so that he has enough movement to get through the difficult terrain.
Looking through the remaining smoke, the gap looks to be about 15-20 feet. You're pretty confident you could make it across with a running start, but it'll be tougher carrying an 11-year old on your back.
You can jump out the same way Burik did, or roll a DC15 acrobatics check to see if you can make it across the gap with the boy. On a fail, you'll fall and I'll roll to see if the fire affects you.
Okay, so Brask heads over to the window with the boy in his arms, takes a deep breath (Second Wind for 11 HP), and jumps, using his body to protect the boy from the fall.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Brask picks up the child, the boy instinctively wraps his arms around Brask's broad, hairy neck. It feels...Brask isn't sure. Nice? He hasn't felt this way very often.
He hops off the side of the loft and turns his body to take the impact. His muscle-y, thick hide takes some of the brunt, but Brask still suffers 9 damage.
Brask lets out a groan as the boy lets go and slowly gets up. He still seems shaken, but in relatively good health. The younger brother is still unconscious on the ground, but appears to be breathing thanks to Burik. Alongside Effort, you see the mother and father running around the corner of the barn, yelling. "Liam! Engar!" The mother falls to her knees next to the younger boy, sobbing. The father and older son embrace. The father looks upset but fights back tears. He gets down on one knee and puts his hands on the boy's shoulders.
"What happened, Eng?" He asks sternly yet compassionately. "Are you alright?"
The boy turns to look at his brother, then back to his father. "Pa..." He pauses for a second. "Pa, it were a dragon."
Brask's DEX save: 17
He takes a deep breath and races down the right side through the smoke. Get the windows!

Effort clenches her hands together, casting guidance and ponders what exactly would help concerning those windows:
Investigation: 20

Choking but undeterred, he rushes on towards the kids. How old are they? Are they conscious or unconscious?

Burik will charge forwards, ignoring the licking flames around him.
As soon as he can he will break through a bit of the wall, grab one (or both) of the children and jump down, putting his body in the way of harm.

Effort points at Burik and casts message: “Wet a cloth for yourself and each boy and cover your mouths and noses! It will help with the smoke!“
(If she has time, she would tell Brask the same with another cast of the spell. If not, sorry man, the kids gotta come first :P )
Brask just keeps running towards the boys.

Seeing Brask exit the building with the second boy in tow, Effort uses her misty step to safely teleport away from the flames and back to the ground.
