(Sorry for the delay! Rather hectic work week + a burst pipe in my house!)
"Yes, finding these 'Sons Oshait' that you mentioned before would seem like a good place to start...And I too wouldn't mind having a roof over our heads for a night or two." Kurama replied. "Though I fear we may be more than a ways off from Frost Shore if I understand our general location. Perhaps making it to the river first should be our goal? From there, we could find a ship to expedite our trip to Frost Shore."
When the group began eating the mammoth, we was shocked how tender the meat was once cooked. He did take Pip's advice and attempt to eat the meat raw as well, but quickly came to realize that uncooked meat was not for him. He felt a slight itch to pull out one of his notebooks, but quickly shook that feeling away, content to enjoy the meal with his friends back "above".
Effort nods in thanks and recognition of Pip's tastes -- she'd certainly eaten worse. But, like Kurama, she gravitates to the cooked meat instead, enjoying her first full and hearty meal in a long while. "It is good to be back," she says between bites, tearing into the meat with gusto.
Over the course of the meal, she spends some time explaining Cadmael's sightings -- "The campfire may hold something of interest. Travelers with news, and more precise directions to our next destination. The cult cannot have been idle while we were away; I think it would be worth it to intercept them, if just for some rumors."

Travelers with news, and more precise directions to our next destination. The cult cannot have been idle while we were away; I think it would be worth it to intercept them, if just for some rumors."
"I agree, though perhaps we should approach them in the morning..." Kurama added, remembering the last time they attempted to approach a camped group at night.
OK, waiting until morning! Let me know how you set up camp - lighting a fire? Snuggling up by the mammoth? It's only a bit chilly during the day but you can guess that the night is going to get pretty damn cold.
Brask gathers the wood necessary to make a good fire, but leaves scouting a good location to the others with more skill than he. He will bring Pip along with him to help, if the goblin is willing. You reckon it gets cold here? he asks the others, having little knowledge of or interest in the weather (he's a city boy).
"Yes, it will get very cold at night." Kurama replied matter-of-factly. Looking around and not seeing a better location to camp for the night (at least with that roll xp), he turned to the others and said, "Though it might smell terrible, I recommend that stay near the creature and use it as a wind buffer. It might help a little but it won't matter if the fire goes out..."
(Is there a decent amount of firewood or other flammable things around?)
Haha! This isn't the prettiest campsite you've made...
There aren't a lot of branches and sticks around but you're able to gather enough, along with some dried mosses and lichens, to get a fire going. It's not an impressive one but camping between the flames and the large mammoth helps to keep you from freezing. The bright side of the low temperatures is that the mammoth actually doesn't smell that bad!
Brask keeps an ear perked up but the night passes by without incident. The winds pick up a bit which makes it tough to hear, but sunlight slowly begins to creep up and over the distant mountains to your east as morning approaches. As you squint and start to open your eyes, though, you realize there are about a dozen dwarves in a half-circle around your camp. They wield mostly shortbows and crossbows, although a few have heavier weapons at the ready - hammers, axes, and the like.
One of them steps forward with a huge, bushy red beard. It has a few strips of white running through it, and his face is a bit weathered beneath. He wears some hide armor over fur, and has a warhammer strapped to his back. "No need for alarm, long as you all aren't looking for trouble. We been tracking this beast for two days now, and suspected you may have gotten to it when we saw your fire last night."
Though cold and not the most comfortable campsite Kurama had ever rested, he was so tired from their journey home and the fight with the beast that he fell asleep almost instantly. When morning came and he awoke to find a group of dwarves surrounding their camp, it took Kurama a few moments to come to and gather his bearings. "We mean you no harm as well," he began drowsily, stifling a yawn, "We are new to the area and this beast charged at us as soon as we were in its sights. We had no choice but to defeat it. I apologize if we stole what was yours, but you are welcome to its remains. We have far to travel and cannot take it with us." After a beat, he added, "Do you know how far away we are from Frost Shore?"
"Ha! Headed to the festival?" The red-bearded dwarf asks as if he already knows the answer. "You're a bit off the beaten path here. Shore is about three days from here, two if you really hoof it. We'll be headed back in that direction now, thanks to you making quick work of this mammoth. Free to tag along if you'd like."
A foursome of dwarves head off as he begins to speak, but return a few minutes later with a large sled. They go to work carving up the mammoth. The oldest of the four, a dwarf with a salt-and-pepper beard and a necklace of bones turns to you. "Fur is yours if ya want it. You made the kill, after all."
Hells yes, Brask says, and will happily take the fur. I wonder if we can make this into a cloak or two. You folk really need to grow more hair on your bodies,he says idly to Kurama, Effort and Pip. It's not healthy to be up in the mountains without a decent amount of fur.
"Thank you for the kind offer. We will take what we can carry." Kuram replied to the dwarves. "And we do not know the way to Frost Shore, so we will join you as well on your return journey, assuming my companions are in agreement..."
Then turning to Brask, he added with a smile, "I was raised in the mountains. It will take harsher weather than this to truly affect me." A second later, a particularly cold gust of wind swirled around the monk - freezing him to his core - but he did his best to ignore it and act unaffected in front of the minotaur.

Head toward the camp now, or wait until morning after a rest?

(Kurama would vote to wait till the morning though he would be fine if the group preferred to go immediately)
