Despite the wounds inflicted by the Party, the ettercap still stands.

The ettercap collapses to the deck, and lies deathly still. What do you do?

Toonary would like to try and harvest things from the creatures for poisoning or healing

Ever skeptical, Gridolpho plunges his blade into the prone Ettercap.

“What a strange creature” says Seethe “how it could have come here?” 

"Eh, ya know how it is Bubbles. Summin fergets to sweep up a few crumbs an' next thing ya know tha liddle buggers are everywhere."

"Toonary always cleans up mess."

"And, hence, no spidders on ya."

Gridolpho retrieves his accouterments and inspects the room.

Maya, still a spider, will skitter around and do a quick perimeter check. As she does, she will adjust spider webs to provide a clearer path for her companions to walk about. She'd make chattering noises and point to the stone alter of Lolth with her front legs then point to herself, repeating the action a couple times. The druid was trying to communicate who the alter was dedicated too. Hopefully, after the others clue in, she would take a closer look at and around the alter with her spidey senses.

(Maya) Make a Perception Check (DC 15). 

(Toonary) You manage to harvest a poison gland from inside the ettercap's mouth. However, you will need to find some way to preserve it, or it will lose potency in a day or two. 

(Gridolpho) You pull the Captain's Log from the debris. Fortunately it's written in common. Unfortunately, most of it's unreadable, still you make out enough to discern the Emperor's fate.

A great storm separated the ship from its escorts. Running low on food, and potable water the Captain was forced to drop anchor off an uncharted island. The last entry describes an attack on the Emperor of the Waves, by Orcs, and goblins alongside monstrous vermin. The crew manages to repel the attack , but suffers heavy casualties. The Captain writes that he fears the attack was a precursor to a larger one.

That is the last entry.

“Well, feck. Tree ta one summa these baddies and their beasties scarpered with tha deeds we’re lookin’ fer.”

Gridolpho tosses the log gently to Seethe.

If a spider could shrug, she'd shrug.
