Kalmar thinks about Ringo’s plan nodding in agreement before wincing slightly I like the staking the place out part, Fluttercloak, maybe you could do your disguise magic and do it? But if we’re pretending we don’t know each other I think three separate people asking after Floon is more suspicious then three of his friends getting together to look for him. Plus that way we can share a room. I get the feeling we ought to play this safe, watch each other's backs. And, you and I have our little routine with people, Ringo, so that’s good.
Fluttercloak nods. He is still in disguise as a city watch at the moment, but he hangs his hook-nosed head, casting thaumaturgy. You both hear an ominous whisper, No more spells...He does also nods at Kalmar words of caution, speaking in a different Ringo's voice, the sing-song voice of the famous bard Ringo Starski, "All together now!", and prays briefly over Ringo the party member, giving him the blessing of the trickster ((Advantage on stealth for the next hour)).
The three of you decide to pass by Old Xoblob's for now, opting instead to head straight for The Skewered Dragon. How would you like to approach?
Fluttercloak speaks a combination of Kalmar and Ringo's recent words. "...stake out the place before heading in..--..ought to play this safe, watch each other's backs..."

If Ringo agrees, Kalmar proposes this approach. The way I see it, Flutter posts up across the street in a Watchmen type pose while Ringo and I go in and start asking some questions. If anyone pops out when they hear us asking around Flutter can make a note of their appearance and what direction they’re heading in. And we should all keep an eye out for eye monster tattoos and black dragons. I can’t shake the feeling that one and or the other are involved in this mess.
The Skewered Dragon faces an alley that runs between Net St and Filet Ln in the Dock ward, and it looks like a ruin. Both its front facing windows have been smashed, and a ship's anchor is lodged in the roof. Through the windows, you can see a group of haggard patrons drinking from huge tankards. They all look up at you as you enter.

"Evenin'" a few of them reply halfheartedly. The barkeep comes back wordlessly with two similarly enormous wooden tankards each foaming at the brim. He eyes both of you.

Kal pays for the drinks and, when the bartender goes back about his business, says to Ringo under his breath. Not exactly the welcoming sort, how do you want to handle this?
Ringo eyes dart back and forth over the rim of his tankard that he barely manages to hold and whispers to Kalmar, “maybe play it cool? I can play some tunes while you question them? Maybe say you’re looking to join them or needing some work?”
Kalmar surveys the room again for anyone showing any indications of allegiance one way or another, sigils, tattoos, colors, anything. perception22 while he surveys the room he says to Ringo Right on, I’ll ask the bartender about our missing friend. I’ll start off saying he’s just a friend but move into saying he owes us money since that seems like something these types would understand.
Ringo puts the tankard on the bar and then asks the bartender, “is it okay if I play a song or two for you and your patrons? I usually split whatever coinage I manage to make 60-40 with the owners.”
Ringo, the barkeep eyes you for a moment and nods, before looking up at the approaching Kalmar.
Kalmar, you get a good discerning look at the other patrons. It truly looks like they are simply dock workers who seem suspicious of strangers as a general rule.

Kalmar calls out to the barkeep again. Beggin yer parden, neighbor, I’m looking for a friend a’ mine. Name a’ Floon, ‘e drinks in ‘ere, I ‘eard. Ringo my lad, lets go get some answers. With that Kalmar strides towards the doors of the Skewered Dragon and goes inside.
Ringo follows a few feet behind and tries gets a layout of the people.

Kal takes in the room and walks over to the bar. Alright barkeep, a tankard of ale, please, for me and my friend.
Ringo saunters up next to Kalmar and takes out his horn and starts to shine it with with. “Evening gents.”
"Evenin'" a few of them reply halfheartedly. The barkeep comes back wordlessly with two similarly enormous wooden tankards each foaming at the brim. He eyes both of you.
