The drow smiles at the elf woman, and sits in front of her - :"It might be time for us to decide whether or not we want to have some kind of contact with natives and which form of contact that would be. Shuushar's suggestion to visit Sloobludop does not bode me well. In general, kuo-toa are not like him. Not when within their city. He may be leading us to a trap. He got nothing to loose and his people might want to see us dead for some form of sacrifice to their deities."
A brief pause and the drow kept a locked stare of his reddish lilac eyes to the elf's eyes - "Mantol-Derith is a large city, heavily guarded and protected by strong magic. Merchants travel there often. Of course it is for Underdark dwellers, so mainly drow, illithid, svirfneblin, and duergar are found there. You see, there is a chance to find a caravan going to the surface or even to find my contacts and take us closer to Ched Nasad. That is definitely my favorite option."
Pointing to another direction, Ree'lyn directs Amara's look as he speaks - "Gracklstugh is a huge cavern city and subterranean port. You might know it lies far beneath the Evermoors. I am sure you are familiar with that region on the surface. Problem is, it is mainly home to duergar, including some derro. I don't think we want to meet them. The duergar of Gracklstugh patroll the Darklake."
Another pause and a brief gesture to indicate emphasis - "It would take us two days to transverse the Darklake from Mantol-Derith to Gracklstugh by boat. That is just a glimpse of how large is this lake. So, for how long would we want to go around?"
"I wonder if we could go to Blingdenstone, the Svirfneblin city. I might have problems there. Or I might run into one of my contacts." - upon saying that the drow smiles, waiting to see if he pointed out well enough how bad most of these options were.
It was all dark around her. A void of endless nothing. Was she floating? She couldn't tell. But she felt the endless expanse around her body, almost as if she were swimming. As she looked around, the only thing visible was a large symbol that had been burned onto her back. Now able to fully glimpse at it, she forced it to memory.
What are you? I have to know.
You will learn... But for now... You are weak. You must become stronger. I cannot have you dissapoint me.
With his words, the previous black symbol before her began to glow and pain racked her body, her own marking burning beyond any extent she had felt before. As her body wretched in pain, the voice continued.
Your sight has been expanded, as well as the flesh that clings to your bones and the blood that flows within. You are no longer as weak. As frail. However... I will grant you something else. The power to shield yourself.
AS the burning subsides, Ash's sight begins to clear, her breathing hitches in her throat as she realizes where she is. Dark shapes flow around her, clearing into the debris of a broken ship. Wood, glass, crates of various items float down around her as she herself flails in the water. The deep expanse of nothing around her as she struggles to find the surface.
When she feels her lungs screaming for air, she claws past the water faster, catching a glimpse of what she thinks is the surface. A bright light ahead of her as her vision fades to nothing and the breath leaves her body. The only thing left is the deep voice in her head.
Send Umbra my regards
Ash awakens with a startled gasp and wide eyes, everything brighter to her now. When she spots the bear, she scampers back a little from it with heavy breaths, her body feeling... more powerful. And as the others wake up, the faint burning subsides, and she puts on a normal expression, calming her nerves.
Now:
As they wait, Ash glances over to Jezzika, searching her for her Teddy bear. The voices in her head are gone for now, something that which should be calming is quite unnerving for her.
Where are you bear? What do you want from me?
After searching for a minute, Ash pulls out a notebook from her pack, moving to sketch out the symbol in as much detail as the dream had showed.
What did it mean? Did anyone around here know? Who could she ask? Why doesn't she know herself?
After a moment with an aggravated hufflepuff, she closes the book and drops it back into her pack, moving to stressfully fluff her hair a little as they wait for Svana's rat to return. Almost absentmindedly Ash raises and lowers herself on her toes, not entirely realizing she's doing it as it hasn't been something she's done since she was younger.

Amara raises an eyebrow. "Do something in Blingdenstone, did you? And why are you so interested in Ched Nasad?" she says with a faint smile and piercing look before her face turns serious. "I know the size of Darklake, and the basics of most of these locations. Out of our current options, I think Blingdenstone or Mantol-Derith are the best options. Jimjar could likely help guide us to Blingdenstone, and we could see if anyone could assist with Mantol-Derith, or we could just use the map and the expertise of the Underdark inhabitants in our group. We could drop the others off at or near the places they wanted without actually going in-for example, part ways with Shuushar a few hours or more from Sloobludop. Personally, I would like to get the others who don't live down here to the surface as quickly as possible."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The night before:
After the wizard had alarmed the perimeter of their campsite and had her ration for dinner, Svana sat herself against the wall and looked through her spellbook. If anyone looked at her, it would seem as if she were only reading and not lost in thought, in her memories of two weeks ago.
"--Marriage?" She questioned up at her father, swallowing down the knot that had formed when they denied her attending her school of choosing. "B-but, I hadn't planned for marriage, n-not yet. I-I have so much to learn--"
"That you will learn in time," Her father sits back in his seat, looking down at her from his perch. "After a few years, a few children--"
"Children?" Svana scoffs at the mention. "You can't expect me to--to sit around a-and raise children! That wasn't what I studied for--"
"We had you and your sisters study many subjects, my dear," Her mother speaks, loud yet gentle. "Or have you forgotten what you've learned in so little time?"
"No--!"
"Do you fail to understand what this union would bring to our family? How all this pointless fighting will finally be put to rest?" Her mother inquires, a slender white eyebrow now raising in interest at what her youngest daughter would answer.
Svana hesitates with her mouth agape, her brain screaming at them, at her, to defy them, and the words that dared to do it were stuck with the knot that reappeared in her throat. A few seconds later, she closes her mouth as she straightens herself, allowing her bangs to cover her eyes, the corners stinging with tears that wanted to fall.
"I do."
Svana remembers how quickly they arranged her meeting with the Tashal's, how she couldn't even say goodbye to her sisters when they were off to their schools of choice, and how much she cried the nights leading up to that fateful day she entered the carriage. Now she was here, deep in the depths of the underdark, surrounded by people she slowly was growing fond of, all with the thought of freedom in mind, but there was an unknown threat that began to turn face and loom over them. Would she be able to hold her own?
With that question in mind, Svana began to study.
"There are many holes in the walls," She relays to the group. "There's a square room with oil... and it continues into another passage." Svana returns and gives a look to everyone else. "We would need to transverse deeper into this passway if I am to see anything more. If there are no objections, I will look at the right cavern." Assuming no one stops her, she has Chandra go down the right tunnel and sniff around.

Ree'lyn smiles and licks his lips when Amara asks about what did he do in Blingdenstone. - "It is not so much what I did, as for what the Svirfneblin and the Drow have been into. We fight a lot, the Drow invaded their city and slaughtered most of them, they took it back and rebuilt part of it. There is much to be recovered from in there. I do know there are surface traders there as well. My point is safety and distance. It should take us about a month to get to Blingdenstone. And I would like us to go to a place that is known for trade, rather than endangering ourselves in a place with no chance of contacting help, like Sloobludop or Gracklstugh ."
Amara nods. "I agree. Going somewhere we're at a lower risk of being stuck without any chance of leaving is a good idea. So, Blingdenstone or Mantol-Derith, hmm? And Blingdenstone runs the risk of our drow members being accosted, while I suspect Mantol-Derith runs the risk of the weaker looking members of our party being attacked if they're alone." She nibbles her lip. "So we'll have to decide on one. How close are they each to our current location, by your estimation? I know Blingdenstone is a month or so from the Gracklstugh docks and Mantol-Derith a little over two tendays, typically, but you may know if there are any new changes to the area that would affect travel time or danger." She raises an eyebrow at Ree'lyn.
It is worth noting that this entire time, Amara has kept the map folded up neatly.
"So we agree. I am glad we have had this conversation. I believe Mantol-Derith should be closer than Blingdenstone. But we may come across Gracklstugh patrols sooner than we would get there. Perhaps two tendays is a safe bet." - apparently having finished the conversation, Ree'lyn looks at Amara, briefly with no word, then adds: - "About that map of yours. How did you get it? Is it reliable?"
"It's quite reliable," Amara replies calmly. "It's the product of generations of trips through the Underdark. It's a sort of...family heirloom, I suppose," she says coolly, keeping her answer vague.
Ash, noticing Talike begin down the pathway, springs out of her stupor and quickly moves to grab her wrist, tugging her back to the group. "Ah! Talike! You can't wander off by yourself. It's smarter to stay with the group. Svana has her familiar checking out both paths for safety. Until the group as a whole decides, we should stay here. Mind looking at something for me?"

Ash offers Talike a slight smile. "That's alright. Just don't go wandering off. We dont need you running into trouble on your own." Theres a pause as Talike moves to keep walking before a slight mischievous smile comes onto Ash's face. "Oh and Talike. You never answered me yesterday. Sorry if I embarrassed you." Getting up for the day Ronnal can't help but feel hot, then he remembers theirs a pockets of lava near by. By the gods as he goes to warn the group sure enough the lava breaks through. Ronnal tires his best on his own, ducking and dodging the lava barely succeeding. He continues with group try to outmaneuver the fungi, using his shield as cover then resting again for the night.
Finally arriving at the Darklake Ronnal mentions no wanting to be here long as, he explains that something dangerous could be in those waters. The day proving to be uneventful he rest for the next day. He remains quiet keeping a lookout as the group decides what to do next.
