Corum will try and sneak into the room relatively unnoticed (Stealth 22) and just try and watch with a keen eye if he notices anything (Perception i guess? 18)
Approaching Altaira you see that she has scratched bloody patches on her arms and legs, where the skin is an angry red and flaking. Her eyes are completely bloodshot, and she hisses and growls at you as you approach.
Corum
The only thing that catches your eye is a tarnished, pewter pendant on a necklace which sits on the desk. Etched into the round pendant is the symbol of a water lily.
As you cast the spell, the open wounds on her arms and legs heal, though the skin remains remains red and irritated. For a moment, she sighs and relaxes, her eyes beginning to close in exhaustion.
Corum will take that pendant he sees and gently lay it closer to her. Walking back to the door he whispers, Come on, lets try and figure this out so she can be back to her normal self. We will need her help to get this place ready for whats out in the forest.
"Yes we do need to figure out what is causing this as it appears what we have done so far has not fixed the issue." Ulrich says. "Let's go to the water source and continue our investigation there."
Catching Altaira scratch her legs as the guys were leaving, Navi would try to take a quick look before leaving. Was it a rash? A bite(s)? that she could be scratching at?
Her skin, though healed, is still red and irritated. As she continues to scratch, the skin can be seen as still noticeably "flaky". It is certainly not a bite, nor would it appear to be a rash, as Healing would achieve a more lasting effect.
Looking around and listening to everything going on outside Corum turns to Vizzini, So where would you suggest we go to first? Time is not on our side.
"You suspect something may be the cause? Only two things come to mind for a next step. As you said, though it may be nothing more than coincidence, it started not long after the Governor returned. His place be at the west end of the waterfront. There's also a healer of sorts in town. Don't know where she stays, but she's middle aged, about middle height, light blonde. I believe she goes by the name of Connie."
Corum nods along with Viz, Thank you sir. So guys where do you feel we should go to first? Shake down the governor or see if this healer has anything that might help?
"I would say the governor first as this "disease" started with his arrival, so either he brought it or it came on his ship. The local healer seems to be out of her element obviously as the "disease" is rampant through the village." Ulrich offers.
Aware now of what you are looking for, as you make your way along the waterfront, you notice that many of the people have red blotches. Surprisingly, those that seem to be less tipsy and festive have a few visible splotches and even peeling skin.
Even seeing the irritated skin, makes you feel itchy.
As you make your way to the end of the waterfront, small groups are engaged in drinking and loud conversations, half hidden in shadows couples exchange amorous greetings. The general festival attitude is everywhere to be seen, and given the hard work you saw on previous visits deserved.
Unable to get directions from the merry makers, you nevertheless find the Govenor's residence. Distinguished by the Embosses emblem of the company on the door. The door, however, is ajar. It has obviously been forced open.
