In her interplanar travels as a goth warrior, Renn recognizes this creature easily as a modron, a monodrone to be exact. This one seems to be completely different than a normal modron, it's mind seemingly reverted to a sort of childlike state.

Recognizing Renn speaking Infernal to the creature Brotherhood turns his attention back to the strange creature. "A Modron huh? Well it doesn't seem to speak Infernal, barely speaks common from the sounds of it. I think Pierpont has the right idea though, we should go to where this thing came from and see what's going on. I'm not sure in it's current state our friend here will be able to provide much information."
Helena gets up from her knee and dusts herself off. "Huh. How fascinating. But I agree. We can talk to the creature as we make our way to the island, seeing as it has agreed to come with us."
Pierpont had travelled many times by boat in his line of work. He found himself a nice place near the middle of the boat and out of the way of those who would need to deal with sails and ropes; all he real work of sailing. For now, he just wanted to focus on preparing himself for whatever lay ahead. Quietly he checks the pockets of his backpack and the contents of his pouches, ensuring he knows exactly where everything is so he can get it at a moments notice.
Brotherhood will be waiting near the front of the ship as well but is keeping an eye on the horizon. Waiting to see the island come into view as they get closer.
As the ship grows close to the island, the first thing you see is a massive bank of fog obscuring a small, flat island in the distance. As you progress, the water undergoes a strange change, turning from a relatively clear, blue-green shade to an opaque, silty black. The air fills with a strange perfume-y smell.

Pierpont hikes his backpack onto his shoulders, ensures his rapiers are free in their scabbards on his belt and makes his way to the port side of the boat, watching as the island draws nearer. The strange surroundings put him on edge. This is not natural. He watches in silence as the sailors work hard to bring them safely to the island.

Brotherhood will go to the side of the ship and try to look along the shore of the island, looking to see if theres any movement at all along the shore line

"Captain, I feel I must ask, but when we are done with our mission here, how are we to signal you to pick us up? I don't suppose you plan to just hang around the island waiting for us."

As you pull up closer, you notice several things. First, the surface of the island is a barren, rocky landscape of strange, geometrical terraces in various colors. The terraces are built up of square and rectangular lumps of gray, brown, black, and red stone or clay, though some areas glitter like bronze. The thick fog gives it an eerie, twilight feel. In the distance, not far from the island, is a ship, floating in the water(as ships do). In the water, brotherhood notices three distinct shapes, about human sized, swimming under the water towards them. The way they swim is more like frogs than fish. Additionally, as you grow closer, you see a couple of reddish spots in the otherwise colorless mist.
seemingly oblivious, the captain chuckles.
"Right, I almost forgot!"
He pulls a small stone shaped like a man's head out of his pocket.
"You can use this sending stone to contact me. I'll have its counterpart on me at all times."

Brotherhood takes the sending stone from the Captain then quickly looks back to the water looking for the figures. "Did anyone else see that? Three figures swimming in the water towards us, I thought nothing lived in these waters?"
If I can still see them I'll try to see If I can tell what they are and how far out they are.

"It's a modron... " says Renn, relaying the above info.

"Captain if you don't mind, lets shove off and get a move on." Aka says.

The preparations soon finish, and you all set out. As Renn walks up onto the ship, the modron trails behind her, and follows her wherever she goes.
What do you do while on the ship?
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Aka will head to the front of the ship and just gaze out at the view.
"Oh perfect, I picked up a stray," laughs Renn. Renn tries to find the best view of the ocean she can as this is a whole new experience.

Helena will also head to the front of the ship, keeping an eye out for nothing in particular and just enjoying the trip.
Pierpont ( as stated above) resting. Staying out of the way am double checking gear is in the right place. Almost OCD in his actions.

"Fascinating," whispers Aka, "I have never seen anything of the life before." Yelling out to the Captain, "Captain, where will you be landing us?"
"Unless you'd like to swim in that water, I'll bring you up right to the island."
