Gorlahk The Half-Orc Lieutenant approaches Laieivis (OOC this is pretty much a copy/paste from a post I just made on Team2)
"So, you want to learn our Way? We are the eyes in the sky. We scout ahead of the Dwarves, and report any movement to Captain Shatterstone and his Men through Commander Byllian. He can communicate with people from quite a distance. We only engage the Enemy if necessary, and provide air support in case of an ambush. There is a lot of Enemy movement between us and Pinekeep, which is a three day journey on foot, or about five hours for us. The Black Dragonborn has erected Siege weapons on the walls of Pinekeep, so we need to stay clear of them. No hero stuff...We've already lost two good riders and Eagles to them. If we can provide advanced recon and support to the Dwarves as they fight their way to Pinekeep through traps and ambush parties, then we can make sure we have a fighting chance once they finally get to the fortified town. With Shatterstone's Company on the ground drawing the attention of those Siege Weapons, we can reign reign death from above, with arrows, boulders, talons and beaks. But until then, it's gonna be three days of grueling trekking across the Mountains and flying in icy winds, on constant lookout for Gnolls, Kobolts and Dragonborn warriors, Black Red and Green. But hey, at least we'll have each other, right me'Lord?"
Gorlahk chuckles, and nudges Laieivis in the ribs, in a friendly, playful way, still putting on his helmet and shutting the visor, as he steps back towards his Eagle. "Welcome to the War, Brother! Blindly following orders, and hope you live to fight another day. That's what it's all about!"
"I wish we were given some sort of notice on our intended roles. The longer we go without such, the more I suspect we are being used as fodder. Sacrificial lambs."
"Works for me!" Gorlahk was practically copy of Uthar minus royal status, so, Laievis meant what he said. "Ready to start. How do you do it? An eagle for every rider to make a bond, or whoever is available?"
"It looks like we are taking the eagles. I guess Pony stays here this trip." Peshley starts to walk toward the Eagle Rider. "Those gnolls along the road sounded like they were doing more than just waiting for the army. I think we should go check them out first.
Cade - Looking at everyone talking about riding the eagles he says, "I am not too keen on riding the eagles...while I think they will have a great advantage for what is to come...I think we need to try and garnish help from others. I am willing to go along and attempt to seek help for this fight...I am just unsure of which to choose. But, if the group decides that we ride the eagles...then that is what we shall do."
OOC Still no news from Uther, but at this point it looks like Team1 will go Air Force. Which is perfect, because Team2 looks like they are going to stay on the ground. Peshley could possibly entrust her Pony/Unicorn to one of them so that it would be able to still tag along.
Gorlahk pulls out a small silver whistle, and blows a complex coded message out to his Squadron.
Five Eagles dive down from the sky, with no riders, and land in front of the Team.
"Each one of you will have their own Eagle. They rode with some of our fallen brothers throughout several mass Battles, so they might be a little feisty at first. But let's take them out for a quick spin around the City before we depart, shall we? I've been ordered to give you a crash course while Belian rallies the troups. Everyone, mount up!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Laievis Animal Handling40 + 2 (? since we got Inspiration :) )
(Laievis will entrust Blizzard to the people taking care about eagles - they might know how to handle horses and Laievis himself is to used to be mobile to part with the mount)

(Oh, in that case I should roll again.)
New Animal Handling roll: 13
(Just to clarify, I had originally rolled a 5, with +4 to make 9, mistook the inspiration for the bardic type so rolled D20 again, rolled a 9, total of 13. Still rolling like crap. Lol Also, since we're set to fly, I guess we will be trusting the army with Taranonn. Thoughts?)
You all saddle up fairly easily, and the Eagles seem way smarter than the average bird. Everyone successfully takes their Eagle to the skies.
Gorlahk leads you through a short course throughout the City, starting with the High Peak, where the Observatory tower's giant stone "donut" stands as the highest building in the City.
"Let's fly through that Circle right there!" Gorlahk dives, and zooms through the Observatory.
Roll an Acrobatics check DC 10.
"That was fun, now for the Barrel roll!"
Gorlahk dives even lower, towards the bridge between the High and Low Peaks, and performs a Barrel roll right past the Hanging Chicken Tavern, barely grazing the balcony where Gavin is standing ready with a small barrel of ale, which he tosses into the air. With one hand, Gorlahk snatches it as he is hanging upside down from his flying mount, and with the other hand, he tosses Gavin a bag of gold.
"That's what we call a Beer run in the 15th Squadron, woohoo! Your turn now!"
Everyone roll another Acrobatics check.
"All right! Lets regroup with the rest of the Squadron now. Last one there is on Eagle poop patrol for the rest of the Journey, haha! Yaaah"
Gorlahk's Eagle uses the momentum from the dive and barrel roll to jet back down to the departing army.
Everyone Roll 1 final Animal Handling check. Gorlahk got a 16 on his roll.
As everyone gets back from the Test Course, and land, the Dwarves on the ground are finally marching out of the City Gates...
Seleth Belian greets you, as he's briefing his Riders.
"I hope you've learned as much as you can. I understand these are highly unorthodox methods to hire civilian groups to accompany trained Air Warriors, but you have all encountered some of this Evil first-handed and lived to tell the tale. These desperate times call for desperate measures, and the Alliance welcomes your help. Should you ever fall in Battle, your names shall live on forever in the 15th Squadron."
The other Riders beat their Chests in unison and shout "Hoorah!"
Commander Belian resumes his instructions.
"Now, all of you have your Flight patterns, I want constant updates on Ennemy activity. If you see something, fire a Flare and wait for reinforcements. Do NOT engage unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. Gorlahk..."
The Half-Orc salutes, after giving everyone (including the Pcs) 2 Flares, similar to the ones used to summon them right after you got back from the FeyWild.
"Sir yes Sir!"
"Take the Knights of the Hanging Chicken towards the Crossroads. There have been more and more Kobolt and Gnoll activity in that area. Lots of cliffs and caves. Its a real haven for them, and most likely they've been digging underground networks. People have been gone missing for a few weeks now. Sir Dauntley of Melaasone and his Squire are both presumed dead. Local Peasants, Livestock, Granit Clan scouts. If we can establish a pattern of Caves, land troups might be able to avoid them, or just maybe find the Source of it all... Now RIDERS OF THE 15TH SQUADRON, WE FLY!"
