Lucia says, "That, I don't know. There isn't much chance of the Guard being in on Rat Liver but I'm not sure if they can really protect us or not."

Well, your a guardsman right? i will leave it up to you. If you think it will do us good then let them know, if not then we keep to ourselves. 

"Alright, how about this then? You're almost dead so why don't you go and get some sleep. I'll go over and talk to the guard myself."

I can wait a few minutes while you talk to the guard. I will feel better knowing nether of us are alone. 

(your making me paranoid of Tomoe's girlfriend)

Lucia nods and goes over to talk to the Dragon born.

16 (I was hoping it would be a high roll)

While the conversation goes on, she starts to look shocked and then exasperated. Finally The Dragonborn and Lucia seem to have come to an agreement. She waves him farewell and returns. "Okay so... we just dodged a bullet. Apparently the people who first went to get the Guard after the fight broke out said, "A white haired foreign girl; a brown haired girl with tan skin and a fair skinned blonde with short hair were responsible for starting the fight. After the fire was handled, the guards were going to go arrest these three ladies and I managed to talk them out of it."

Tomoe stays close to Lucia, though she supposes anyone would be stupid to attack with so many city guard present. 

At hearing the good news, Tomoe gently but firmly grabs Lucia's face and brings it close, causing their foreheads to touch. Seductively, Tomoe says You are so arousing to me right now. If we were not covered in blood i would kiss you so much. Remind me later that i owe you some intense bedroom time.

Kate looks pissed and says, "So what you're saying is: who ever Boss Rat is, he's smarter than we gave him credit for. He somehow figured out who we are; what we look like; what our plan with Shirai was and then tried to have the guards arrest us in case Shrike couldn't do the job. So where does that leave us?"

It is not good. Understatement i know, but we are now attracting a lot more attention than i wished for us at this stage. We need allies.

"But where can we find allies? We have no idea who's a spy and who isn't" Kate says.

We need to find this spy. And we really need to get their attention off of us so we can regroup properly. This day has been a total disaster. So much for all the bounty we made on the ooze. 

Tomoe has a bit of a revelation. Do you think we are being followed by someone? Is the hideout safe ?

Lucia shakes her head and says, "No, if they had someone follow us, I would have noticed. I think the spies are actually people who are placed in locations where the boss suspects us to frequent: The Diurnal District, The slums and the smaller bosses. I think they are trying to figure out our hideout but haven't got there yet." Lucia pauses and says, "Do you remember what Shirai said? He said that his "Ojisama" figured out your identity. What if he was being literal? What if the boss had his spies find us out indirectly via clues or manipulating completely innocent people into gathering information for them? Remember the tailor who was ecstatic to see you? I don't think she was a spy but what if after she left, the spy took the guise of another curious commoner and confronted her and asked her what she learned about you?"

That makes sense. We have to be vigilant from now on. We have been too casual. Should we move hideouts? 

"I don't know. Maybe though will that really help much or will it just give the boss a chance to figure out where we moved to?"

Hmmm, maybe we should check on Kate's room at the uhm....other place ee have to hide out...Tomoe is worried people are listening in on them.

"Alright let's go." Kate says.

DM: The party knows this but I don't get it. Where are you going now?

Kate's place that we set up to act as a sort of decoy hideout at the brown fox. I want to see if its been raided or if it's still intact. 

DM: For the record, Brown Fox is Kate's Merc name. In the merc business, nobody uses their real names. The tavern was The Dancing Weaver.

You head to Kate's old room at the Dancing weaver. Surprisingly, it's been left in tact. The reason you moved in the first place was because the late Ruttman sent a team of assassins after you there. That place was already compromised so Kate expected it to be looted but it wasn't. Guess the Boss Rat didn't want to attract any more of the Town Guard's attention.

(Right, i knew that...i forgot the name of the inn/tavern is all. That's my story and i'm sticking to it.)

Think we can get away with moving back here? Although, there probably is not enough space for us all. 

Kate says, "We could but if we try to move, the spies might see us. Honestly if we're moving we should go somewhere less obvious." She sits down on her old bed and says, "You know, there is a bright side to all this. The fact that Boss Rat is trying so hard to get us means we're probably getting uncomfortably close to finding out where his HQ is. We just have to figure out our next target and shake them for information." Lucia adds, "Good point." She turns to Tomoe and says, "So what's the plan, Chief? We going to continue attacking or lay low for a while? If we do attack, are we confident we can take down someone like Shrike? I doubt the other bosses that are on his level are any less competent at fighting than he was."

Tomoe paces across the room. You are both right. We are getting closer and closer to the source. But we have awoken a sleeping bear and we just got mauled. 

I have an idea, but you both may not like it.
