Zhao Wang nods. Ingrid can feel him buy it. He then begins making his sermon.

DM: The sermon is long and very persuasive so I will just put a summery of it here.

"Tell me, have you ever seen a friend or family get turned down for employment while someone inferior to them in every way got the job just because the incompetent one was noble born? Have you seen people be blatantly disregarded because of their race and birth; two things they have no control over? Tell me, what is commonly seen as the most elegant race in this city? It's elves isn't it? Now think, why is this the case? Have you ever noticed that the vast majority of noble families consist of elves and humans? What about the race that is seen as filth, tieflings? How many tieflings of nobility have you seen? The gods are worshiped by all of us and we were all created by the same gods. Then is it right for people to be treated poorly just because of their birth while others are put on pedestals and given positions they are unqualified for just because they are of noble birth? It is true that their ancestors did many noble things to earn their respect and honor. However, the current nobles did no such thing. They are still treated with such high regard purely for the virtues of their fathers. This is a blatant disregard for the gods' will because every person will be judged equally by Abphony in the afterlife. So why do we spoil not only the worldly life of so many people and drive them to sinful acts to survive just so they were unlucky enough to be born as a tiefling or as part of lower class family? Is this right in anyway? No it isn't but we live in a society where this blasphemy is not only ignored but encouraged. The society has embraced this blasphemy and become one with sin. We have all know that the greatest sin is blasphemy and heresy. We all know what punishment lies in the afterlife for those who commit such unforgivable acts. So why do we ignore this great sin that has engulfed and merged with our society? Why do we ignore and forgive the unforgivable. Is it because it is a part of normality? Normality does not dictate what is good and what is evil, the will of the gods do. By ignoring this grave sin, we are perpetuating it and thus we sin ourselves. So you may ask how we may be saved from this sin? We must stand against it! We must purge this blasphemy by purging the arrogance of the undeserving nobility. Each person should be judged on their own merits and not on the merits of their wealth and family history. Only those who are blessed by the gods and those who have earned their respect by their deeds are deserving of the title "noble". Their race, family, economics should not matter; only their actions and devotion should matter. Just like any heretic the sinful must be destroyed so that the sin might be purged from our lands. So tell me? How do we purge such a sin from our society? We have no choice but to treat it with the same severity as we would had the offender been a person. We must collapse the existing walls of society as they are irreparably tainted with blasphemy. We must construct new norms and new practices that are in line with the wishes of the gods. The greatest of goals require the hardest of sacrifices. So we must work to bring down this evil society to obtain our perfect holy land. Then all shall enjoy a society which is blessed by the gods themselves. Amen!"

What does Ingrid feel about this?

Ingrid doesn't disagree with the core principles, but the execution and doesn't sit right. She doesn't agree with the train of thought that leads to the blasphemy bit. But she can play along. 

DM: I gave the summery but the whole sermon had much better justification for the actions. Also, I'm not as persuasive as the character so...

(Without magic, Ingrid wont really be convinced that the method is right. ) 

Though Ingrid doesn't agree with the methods, at the end of the sermon, she has to admit that there is no other way.

(I protest that. With out being magically compelled she would disagree with that being the only way. I would say that she is more open to the plight and the potential cause of the suffering.)

(I mean it's your character so you know how she would react better than I do. Though she would be less inclined to go against these guys even if she disagrees with it being the only way. Reason: The Priest has been recruiting people like her for a good while now. It's what he does. There's no magic so it's not a charm but it is persuasive. Basically I'm saying she can disagree like you said but she's not very comfortable with going against these guys either.)

(That's fine, because she is young i can play it off as her being to inexperienced to see other options at this time. )

Ingrid wonders to herself if this priest has the truth of the matter or not. He may be right. She will need to stick around for sure to find out. 

So with the sermon over, what will Ingrid be doing.

Also since Ingrid is separate from the party, what is Tomoe and the others doing since morning?

Ingrid will discuss the sermon with the men that recruited her. 

Aside from worrying how Ingrid is doing, Tomoe is looking  for a merc job that will net some quick and relatively easy cash. 

Okay... what is Ingrid discussing?

Also Tomoe doesn't find a job today.

That was somewhat eye opening She says to them. How do we go about bringing justice to the blasphemers? 

The soldiers says, "We must weaken to society at its foundations for we are too few to attack directly. Thus we need more funds. To do that we are running this shop. On the other side, we are robbing the rich and selling them drugs so that the nobility may be addled."

Ingrid has a realization that the paladins may not know that the drugs are finding their way t the citizens they are trying to help. 

So, you take advantage of their lifestyle of excess and in turn use that money to undermine their unearned power?

"Exactly. Slowly but surely we shall dethrone them."

Clever, those that partake will never see it coming. But what of those who do not spend their days in drug addled ignorance? Is it truly so bad that ALL the nobles have fallen from grace ?

"Yes. Though some are more active than others, the fact that they let the Blasphemy continue to plague the society while they do nothing with their wealth and power to stop it is almost as grave of a sin as it is to actively partake in it. These are passive heretics while the others are active. As long as nobility exists in its current state, we will not be able to rid the world of heretics."

I see, those who do nothing are just as bad because they refuse to act. I think i am understanding everything more, and things are becoming clearer to me. Something must be done. 

"Exactly. We need all the funds we can get. Would you consider donating to our cause? Every little bit helps."

I have no money myself. She says truthfully as the party never gave her any finds. But i can work. I am strong for my age and size.
