Chronero - Single Player DnD

As Tomoe finishes signing and putting her bloody fingerprint on the designated area, the contract glows and a symbol appears on it, signifying that the deal is sealed. The symbol depicts a large eye looking down from the sky at a graveyard. Various humanoid shapes are walking toward the eye. The contract disappears and the elf says, "Come. Let us begin the ritual."

He leads Tomoe up the stairs to a large ceremonial room. She finds Ingrid's coffin tossed carelessly to one side. In the middle of the room, lies Ingrid's bare body. Red chalk has been used to draw runes on Ingrid's body. It is at the center of a ritual circle filled with many runes and symbols that make no sense to Tomoe. Hanging above her is a large chandelier filled with scented candles. The hobgoblin and the boy are standing close to Ingrid's hands. Two more hooded figures, an orc and a Tabaxi are sitting close to Ingrid's feet. Finally the elf takes his place at Ingrid's head. All of them have golden cups next to them and there is a bowl next to Ingrid's head. He begins chanting and so do the others in the room. Soon the chalked runes begins to glow. Tomoe feels a chill rundown her spine. It is as if Death itself was staring down on her. That is when the elf reaches over to a table and begins slathering Ingrid in various strange concoctions. After more chanting, he takes a sacrificial dagger, covered in glowing runes and cuts his palm. The blood pours into the bowl as he hands the dagger clockwise to the others. Each of them also pour their own blood into the cups. Then everything is quiet. One by one, the hooded figure stand and say an arcane phrase as they hand the cup to the elf, who mixes the blood with the one that is in the bowl. This is done counter-clockwise. Finally, with a bowl full of blood, the four begin chanting again as the elf pours the blood into the fire. The fire seems to go out at first, before it starts making a strange sound. It turns a strange shade of blue and begins growing again. The Elf throws a fist full of diamond dust followed by obsidian into the fire. He then takes the bloodied sacrificial dagger and heats it in the fire. With the heated dagger, he carves a symbol onto Ingrid's chest. The remaining time is spent chanting however, the wound on Ingrid's body seems to shrink and shrink until it forms fine scars on her chest that depecit the same symbol that appeared on the contract.

The whole ceremony lasts 1 hour. At the end of it the fire goes out, Ingrid's body flashes and all the potion evaporates along with the chalk marks. The circle on the floor dissipates. At first things are quiet. Then Ingrid opens her eyes. She slowly and weakly sits back up and rubs her eyes. She looks very disoriented.

Tomoe looks to the Elf to make sure it's alright to approach.

It is alright to approach.

Tomoe approaches with caution. Emi-chan?

Ingrid seems a bit confused at first, "O... Onee-chan?" She rubs her eyes and then slowly recognizes Tomoe as the disorientation subsides a bit. She runs up and hugs Tomoe. She asks , "Where are we. What happened? I was in a large room. The sky was made of black marble. The room was dark and bright at the same time. There was a young girl in a dark purple dress. Simon was there... so where the many people Kate killed. They were... zombie like."

Ingrid looks like herself for the most part. There are a few subtle differences though. She has a scar tattoo of the Elf's god's symbol on her chest now. Her skin is slightly paler than usual and seems a little bit sickly. She has dark circles and bags under her eyes and the place where her neck broke has a calloused permanent bruise.

Tomoe gently embraces her sister. All that matters right now is, that I gotten you back. Tomoe begins to shed tears of joy.

Ingrid seems a bit confused still now. "I missed you too Onee-chan. But... Where are we now? We didn't lose right? Right?"

Tomoe collects herself and says No, we won. And we have our best lead on the boss yet. I am not sure where we are now, but we should bot stay long. 

I Ingrid naked?

Yes she is. Though all of her stuff is piled in one corner of the room and you can just take it.

Ingrid nods and then stands. She realizes that she isn't wearing clothes as her disorientation lessens. She quickly hunches back down and tries to cover herself. Her pale face turns a red though it is still a paler shade of red then what is expected.

Here, let me get you your things. Tomoe quickly recovers Ingrids clothing. She doesnt seem to care about Ingrids resurrection scars or her paleness. She did just come back to life after all. Hopefully there are no sever lasting side effects.

(Like being marked by a dark god and potentially being mind controlled or worse by said dark god)

(Hey, it's a evil god who forcefully snatched a soul from the god of the afterlife. And the soul was someone who had completed their life time on Earth. It is pretty obvious that bad things are going to happen later down the line because of this)

Ingrid quickly puts on her clothes. She says, "Thanks Onee-chan. I'm... still not sure what happened but I am back to you and Kate so..." She then says excitedly, "Kate! How is she? I'm sure she was able wreck Zhao's business."

(Oh yea, bad stuff us coming. But I'll burn down that bridge when I get to it....if I survive. Oh! Is the God of death going to come to me and make me go on an adventure to undo the damage I did by contracting with an evil God to steal a soul?!)

Kate and Lucia are fine. As usual, Kate carved our way out, literally. Tomoe hugs her sister again and looks around to see if the creepy guys that gave their blood to bring Ingrid back are still there.

(Nah. The good god of death pretty much does not want to deal with the evil one so she'll just let you do your thing and then maybe intervene if things start to go very wrong for her. )

The creepy elf is still there but the others have gone. He steps up and says, "Praise Morpheus for reuniting a family broken up unfairly and too early."

Does Tomoe recognize that name at all? Not that she can tell anyone anyways.
