The group steps through the door to find themselves in a huge room. The floor has the same black and white checkered pattern. On either side of the room is a long tunnel of flowing water 10ft deep. A carpet goes from the doors the party came from to a large pillar made in the middle of the room. The pillar is made of wood and reinforced with steel. It goes all the way up to the ceiling that is a whole 30ft high. On the ceiling, from the pillar are 4 beams going in a Cross pattern to support the otherwise stone ceiling. From that ceiling hangs chandeliers of Continual Flame that light the room. At the opposite end of a room is a set of wide marble stairs lead up to a marble corridor. Both the North and South Walls are 20ft high, holding up balconies with marble railings. There are also marble pillars attached to the walls. The walls hang banners of red and blue, showing the same symbol of the cult.
On the 20ft high balconies are four Birdmen (AKA Aaracokra) decked out in magical Leather+1 and armed with Heavy Crossbows+1. There are two on each side, ready to shoot the party from high up in the air and from behind the cover of the Railings. In the center of the room is an Air elemental.
Kate grips her sword and gives the Elemental her icy cold glare. Tomoe and friends fell a chill surrounding them and numbing them a bit to pain without hampering their ability to fight. This magical chill was. of course, due to Kate's aura. The barbarian Charges the Elemental and leaps high into the air. She brings her sword down on the creature with a devastating blow that cuts right through it and cuts a sizeable chunk out of the ground itself. The elemental howls in pain and retaliates with powerful strikes to Kate's jaw and gut. Kate powers through the pain though and continues to stare down the elemental. "Ptooh!" Kate spits a bit of her blood at the Elemental's "feet". Lucia moves in with her trusty shovel and bashes the air out of the Elemental, not to be outdone by Kate. She then punches so swiftly that she manages to strike the whirlwind body of the elemental itself. Dull thuds ring out in the room each time the detective's gloved fists connect with the creature. Then Lucia jumps up into the air and somersaults backwards to land on her feet a bit further away, not wanting to be in melee of the elemental.
Mystery's turn.

Mystery casts a spell on Kate and uses her tried and true tactic of putting herself behind her Mystress to keep the enemies from targeting her. It seemed to work well so far. The only time the tiefling had gotten hit was during the arena fight and then she was alone and was the only target with no Tomoe to hide behind. The problem with relying on the same strategy over and over again is that at some point, it's going to fail and it will come as a devastating shock. That's exactly what happened here.
The birdmen with their +1 Crossbows, spread their wings and leap off the 20ft tall balcony, flying high in the air away from the reach of Kate, Lucia and Ingrid. Seeing the tan skin barbarian grow to match the air elemental size after the tiefling girl cast a spell made them weary. The fact that she chose to hide behind one of the more heavily armored warriors made them treat her as an easier target.
Mystery barely managed to hop back to avoid the first bolt. It stuck between her legs. The second bolt hit her at the side of her belly and sliced all the way through, leaving a deep, nasty gash in its wake that poured blood unlike any wound Mystery had received before. The third shot hit her in the arm and took a bit of her flesh with it as the bloodied bolt joined the other blood soaked ammo stuck to the floors and walls.Gritting her teeth, Mystery managed to bravely hold on to the spell. Finally the fourth bolt sunk deep into Mystery's back. The pain was finally too much and her spell failed, dropping Kate down to normal size again.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tomoe takes out her shiny new bow and launches a volly at the bird that hurt Mystery the most. It's easy to tell because Mysterys infernal heritage causes dark purple flames to surround the one that did it.

The purple flames nearly cook the birdman2 out of the sky. Charred and still smoking, it remains in the air. Tomoe tries to finish it off by shooting two arrows. Both of the magic laced arrows are nimbly dodged by the flying warrior. They continue moving and hit the ceiling. ((You actually didn't have any arrows but I figured she would have looted the Drider's quiver as well so I gave you 20 arrows bonus. Two of that 20 spent. No, in my games you may not recover spent arrows))
Ingrid attempts to charge in and put the elemental out of its misery but the creature's windy body was too strong for her to punch through with her sword arm. Her sword was knocked to one side and she barely managed to keep a grip on it. Kate. however didn't have this problem. She swung hard and chopped into the Elemental more. Knowing that Kate is too strong to stop with the force of winds, the elemental dodges the second blow Kate attempts. The barbarian then coats herself in her cold air to protect herself and protect it did! The elemental moves over Kate and Ingrid and increase the intensity of its gusts in a swift but powerful burst. Ingrid is sent flying south and she falls short of landing in the channel of water. Kate meanwhile uses her protective cold air to counter the winds. She stands proud, taking no real damage. She grins menacingly at the Elemental "That all you got?"
Lucia tries to finish off the Elemental. She was getting increasingly worried about those damned flying crossbow birds. However, the shovel seemed to be the perfect shape to get deflected by the Elemental's body. She tried kicking it but the awkward position she was in thanks to her first attack failing made the kick land with no force. "Shit" She swears.
Mystery starts feeling light headed. The sounds of battle seem to slowly fade and the room get darker. Her wounds start to feel numb. She touches the large gash on her side and then looks at her hand, covered in dark blue blood. Her eyes roll up and then she collapses to the ground from lack of blood. (DEATH SAVE)
With one of the ranged attackers of Tomoe's team down, the birdmen focus fire on Tomoe herself. She didn't have the shield to block the arrows so the samurai had to try her best and dig deep. She managed to avoid all the arrows by an impressive feat of acrobatics, combining side-steps, dodges and rolls. Knocking that she could shoot back with her bow, the birdmen fly back to the 20ft high balconies, get on the ground and take cover behind pillars and railings, making it extra difficult to hit them.
Tomoe feeds Mystery a healing potion and she slowly gets back up and into the fight. Ingrid runs up and impales the Elemental on her Light Brand long sword. The power of her sword surges and the elemental glows for a second before exploding into a whirlwind and dissipating. Lucia looks up the balconies and the birdmen. She says, "We can't fight them like this. Kate! Let's go see if we can find some way to get up there." Kate nods, "Tomoe! Stay here and try to keep shooting them down. We'll be right back!" The two then rush far west and goes through the archway at the eastern end of the room, using their superior speed to try and cross as much distance as they can.
Mystery casts her spell and holds one of the Birdmen in place. Seeing Mystery get up again, the remaining birdmen pop out of cover to shoot her. Two bolts fly and while one, Mystery dodges, the second bolt strikes Mystery square in her chest and sends her to the ground. Mystery does not get up. (DEATH SAVES)
The with Mystery on the floor with a bolt sticking out of her, the last Birdman turns his attention to Tomoe and launches a bolt. The bolt flies quick and just like Mystery, strikes Tomoe square in the chest. However unlike her servant, the noble does not go down that easily.
Tomoe takes aim and fires off a volley of the entrenched birdmen. Though two of the arrows hit the railings, one hits Birdman2 straight between the eyes and blows up his head completely as it passes through. The now brain and gore covered arrow sticks to the wall and splatters it with bits of the birdman's brains. The other arrow hits the Birdman4 right on the wing, causing him to let out a screech. Ingrid moves up and tries to help by forcing one of the Birdmen to come within striking distance. Sadly, her Command Word is resisted by the iron will of the winged snipers.
The Birdmen begin their counter-attack against Tomoe. The birdman1 shoots Tomoe. The bolt hits Tomoe's sternum with great force. The force of the impact causes a spray of blood to erupt and knock Tomoe to the ground. If the bolt in her chest wasn't bad enough, Tomoe hits her head on the ground too. The Birdman3 shoot where Tomoe stood but did not anticipate the samurai to fall to the ground. The shot flies over Tomoe. Sadly the same can't be said about Birdman4. He takes careful aim and shoots, The bolt hits Tomoe's thigh and strikes her bone.
Lucia places one hand on her hip and twirls the shovel around like a Baton. She says, "Whatever you say, Chief. I think I like this Shovel." This time when she twirled the shovel around though, there was no pain. A good night's rest did Lucia well.

Tomoe's turn. (Tomoe is Prone)
Tomoe stands and gains a Second Wind 10 .
She fires another couple shots at the birdman. (Assuming atleast 1 is visible)
