Tomoe chuckles, I am not above kissing to me it feel better either. 

(also, 30 pages of this. And you thought Tomoe would be Dead on arrival)

Speaking of which, Kate looks up and says, "I wonder what my boyfriend's up to?"

Hopefully, he is keeping his insides inside. Tomoe quips.

"Yeah that's likely. He's not involved in any dangerous jobs like we are." Lucia comments, "So we talking about boys now?"

Tomoe sighs a little I would prefer talking about cute girls, but that is probobly just me. I was the only girl at my knights academy so I think my preferences may be abnormal.

Lucia leans back on both her hands and says, "I don't know. I'm kinda like that as well. Well... I swing both ways actually. I met this handsome wanderer boy once. He had long flowing golden hair. I also met a few cute girls as well."

She sits back up and says, "What's it like in the academy? I've been more self taught and I went through some basic training in the guard. Though I'm betting it's not the same thing as Knight Academy."

Difficult. Atleast for me. It is tradition in my country that the first born son of noble familys be sent to a military academy and serve atleast one term. As my mother was told she became barren shortly after I was born, I went instead. It is exceedingly disciplined. Everyday is combat training and studying war history. What downtime I had was almost never to myself. I was always with the other boys and was treated like one.  Tomoe pauses for a moment to mentally skip over some of the more personal and intimate details. 

As far as the physical training goes, I was taught to wield every kind if weapon. And to utilize any kind of armor. Though, I never reached Kate's impressive strength, so i prefer small arms and lighter armor. It alows me the use of a shield, which has saved my live a few times.

"I started out as a guard. There's no specialized training in the guard. The training is more sectioned off into divisions, each with their own set of skills. I always was observant so I was in the investigations division during training. I tried fighting with light armor and concealed blades like they taught me to but that wasn't exactly a good option. It's hard to handle disguises with armor on and people tend to see you as a high priority target when you have these things on. So I honed my reflexes and unarmed fighting. Why do you think I dress the way I do? with so much skin exposed and nothing bigger than a club, people think a well-placed knife or a grab from behind would be all that it would take to take me down. They have no idea that it would be much harder."

Tomoe smiles pleasantly. It has had its desired effects on me I think. Tomoe leans in to Lucia to whisper so Kate cant hear her. It is why I let Kate decide to trust you. Your looks played right into my biggest weakness. 

Tomoe speaks at her normal volume again. So Kate, how did you come to wield such a large weapon with such ease and power to cleave men in two?

"Me? Well as you can tell, I'm a Barbarian. But I didn't grow up in any warrior tribe or in the wilderness. I grew up in the streets, in the slums. At that time, Rat Liver was not a thing. Instead, the people that would become Rat Liver, were small disjointed street gangs. To survive in such a place, I had to get tough. Armor was too expensive so had to learn to do without it. I picked weapons off of random people that were killed by thugs. One of them happened to be a heavily armored guard with a great sword. I don't know how to use heavy armor so I took his great sword. Then I got even stronger from swinging it around so much."

As good a reason as any I guess.

If either of you need to take a power nap. You can use my lap as a pillow.  Tomoe smiles a toothy, full smile.

Both girls decline the offer.

After some time you can hear footsteps and people banging on the door, trying to break it down.

Did we finish our short rest?

No you did not.

Tomoe cautiously approaches the door, weapons drawn , and listens to what the people on the other side might be saying to themselves.

It's really hard to approach the door due to the barricade. You can't get right next to the door. Roll perception to see what you hear.

You hear them on the other side trying to break the door down. "It's no use. The barricade is too strong." "Well then, they'll have to come out eventually. We'll ambush them here when they come out."

Looks like they failed to break the door down and now plan to trap the place around the door.
