Priya had already walked to the west door. She opens it to reveal a dark and narrow passage that leads downwards. The stairs are half-melted and slippery. It looks pitch black down the stairs but Priya doesn't seem to mind. Everyone must make a DC15 Acrobatics check to walk down the stairs. If you can't see in the darkness, make the check with disadvantage. If you fail, you fall down the stairs and take 10 Bludgeoning damage.
For maximum suspense (Actually because of speed), why don't you roll the check for your allies? Their bonuses are: Kate: +5 Priya: +4 Lucia: +4
Priya walks down the stairs just fine followed by Lucia. Then Tomoe and Kate start walking. Tomoe loses her footing and tumbles down the stairs, hitting her head a few times until she crashed on to the cellar floor and the world went dark around her. She didn't lose consciousness, the torch went out and it was dark. With the light source suddenly gone, Kate takes a misstep and falls head-first on to the stone floor of the cellar. There was slime and corrosion everywhere but it wasn't enough to make the stone floor soft enough.
Lucia, losing her sight asks, "What happened? I heard a crash." Priya, who seems to see in the dark just fine says, "Oh my! Tomoe and Kate fell down the stairs. Are you two alright? I hope you aren't hurt too badly."

Are you hurt too Kate? Tomoe asks as she stands back up and lights a new torch. I am not sure which is worse. The broken bones or being covered in the nasty sludge.
Priya looks into the nest and says, "Well... I don't have anything to deal with this. Oozes reproduce slowly so I was hoping to just kill all of them."
Priya says, "Not really. We killed 5 so there should be at most, 10-15 down there. Maybe less. I'm not sure but it's not too many." She looks down into the hole and says "However, how are we going to get in? I was going to climb down but I don't want you or anyone else to fall again. Especially not in a Ooze nest."
Kate looks down into the hole. "Yeah we can smoke them out. But we saw that this slime trail puts fire out." Lucia says, "Maybe we can keep searching the house for something useful? We never figured out what was going on in that bedroom on the second floor."
