Chronero - Single Player DnD

Gokul gets ready and anticipates Kate's approach. He lunges with a punch which Kate blocks with her sword. Then He goes into a kick which is also blocked. Kate seems to not have fully adjusted to this human's unusual flight ability and so does not expect it when Gokul lifts his other leg off the ground and kicks Kate in the jaw. She doesn't go down yet though.

Kate's turn.

Kate wraps herself in her cold aura and tries to finish the fight as fast as possible.

Gokul dodges the first sword swing and then catches Kate's arm on the second swing. He then delivers two very powerful punches into Kate's gut. The barbarian falls to her knees and with a final chop to the side of her head, Kate's eyes roll up and she falls unconscious. Luckily, it was agreed that there would be no killing so Kate was stable. She's just going to wake up really sore later. A good night's rest would do her good. Gokul meanwhile walked out of this fight without a single scratch on him. The elf cheers and swoons at the monk's victory. Lucia is dumbfounded at how easily and badly Kate was just beaten. That and the monk's uncanny flight abilities. Gokul says, "That was a fun fight! It was easier than expected though. I'm going to search for tougher opponents. Hey Tomoe!  Tell you friend to train more. Then we can fight again when she get stronger."

He says this, though his voice is cheerful as always. Lucia sighs and walks over to Kate. She shouts, "Chief! Help me load Kate back into the cart. She needs to sleep off her injuries."

Tomoe helps put Kate in the cart. And she was having such a confidence boost from beating the vine monster. Now we really need to her to have fun on our upcoming girls night, even if we have to do it ourselves. 

Lucia agrees, "Yeah. This loss is going to really gut her confidence levels. Though that man... I think I've figured out a bit of what got Seraph so depressed. You remember the elf that was with him? Well, she's actually from Brass City. She is not necessarily a merc but the Guard hires her from time to time for intelligence work. Seraph had a major crush on her. Looks like Gokul stole her before he had the chance to confess... Though there's probably more to it than that. He's not the type to get this depressed over a girl her never even confessed to... At least I hope he isn't."

That Gokul seems to be missing a few things in his head. What ever could she see in him?

Lucia shrugs, "I'm not sure. He's good looking and is pretty strong. Maybe he's a real charmer when he's not trying to get into fights so who knows."

The group drives their cart into Brass City and drags Kate to bed to sleep off her injuries. Turning in the Bounty at the local guard, nets them a pretty penny. Lucia then asks, "So Chief, what's the plan? We've got some money now. Do we hire workers to build our base or get the materials and build it ourselves? What about sending Mystery to City of Haze to find Kitty-Cat? Since none of us can go with her or we'll have our heads shot off, we'll have to hire a merc to go with Mystery for protection. Also if we want to hire the sniper for ourselves, we'll need to send her with some gold. I heard Kitty-Cat charges 10,000 GP normally but that elf mercenary did say she might work for cheaper if we give her a sad backstory."

We have enough to fill Kitty-Kats full fee, let's find out how much it will cost us to hire a body guard for Mystery. We may have to return to that first set of ruins.

My page says we have a bit over 11000gp so we will go see how much a bidy guard merc will charge to get Mystery to Kitty and back safely. 

Lucia looks to Kate's room and says, "Well we can take a trip to the Golden Dune and ask some of the mercs there. It shouldn't take us too long to just check."

let us go. Mystery, stay here with Kate and Ingrid.

Lucia and Tomoe walk through the streets of Brass City, bathed in the dark blue light of dusk. Lights can be seen from the various houses as the people get ready to relax after a long day of work. Arriving at the Golden Dune, they find the same group of mercs still around.

There is Gemini, looking a bit drunk. The middle-aged human woman is still there, this time she seems to be playing cards with some patrons. The half-orc is still in his corner. The Dwarf is looking disappointed in Gemini for getting drunk this quickly. It looks like the two were having a drinking competition with the elf and she lost. The human male merc is smoking a cig and trying to impress some ladies.

Tomoe will approach the half orc and ask if they do bodyguard escort work.

The half-orc says, "I do. 6,000 GP" He seems to be a man of few words.

Tomoe thanks him and moves on to the dwarf and the drunk Gemini

The dwarf says, "Lookin' for a bodyguard eh? You've come to the right guy for the job. Norbert here won't let anyone lay a finger on the one he's guarding... if you can pay his fee that is. 5000 GP." Gemini looks up and says, "Hic... Oh. Itsh you guys again. Guard Duty? I dunno. I'm not a very tanky type. 3000 GP and I'll do it though. Hic"

Tomoe thanks them for their time and talks with Lucia privately.

It looks like we will have to go back to the first set of ruins and see what is left for us there. We can only just afford Kitty Kat, we will need alot more monet for the body guard.

Lucia sighs. "Well, if you say so. When are we going again?"

Let us have our night out with Kate to cheer her up first. We will venture back out afterwards.

"Sounds good Chief. We can go out a bit earlier tomorrow to pick up her outfit. She agreed to let us pick her outfit for tomorrow night remember?"
