Darion spins round as he hears Ellis, glancing over at Erro's quick reaction and shout. He will stand by to help pull on the rope, or give any other assistance as needed. He would use his Luck with any dice roll under 15.

Erro shouts but his cries to the crew are drowned out by the wind and rain. He resorts to smacking Rawk and pointing to Ellis. Rawk immediately spots Ellis' form in the water and grasps onto the rope in Erro's outstretched hands. Time seems slow as water droplets are flung from Rawk's powerful wings with each flap. She surges forward fighting through the wind and arrives at Ellis hovering a few feet over him. She lowers the rope down to Ellis and he grabs on wrapping the rope around his arms with all the strength he can muster. Rawk inches closer and closer constantly monitoring the waves until her talons reach Ellis' shoulders. Her talons curl under each armpit and lift up while her wings flap violently to increase altitude above the waves.
Water drips from Ellis' form as Rawk carries him back over to the catamaran. Another wave halts your progress and you carefully time your descent to the deck. Kellar, Darion and Elia slowly pull the rope as Rawk approaches while Erro continues to turn and adjust the sail to maintain course and position. Rawk carefully sets Ellis down onto the deck and you all grab onto hand holds as you crest another wave. Ellis untangles his partially bound arms and settles back into his position.
Darion looks at Ellis concerned "Are you okay?" he yells above the sound of the storm. He will then look around to see if there is anything that could keep Ellis warm, worried he might catch his death of chill.
“Well done, Rawk!” Erro will yell as he makes an adjustment to the sail. “I don’t know what we’d do without you.” He’ll morbidly add, lowly, to himself, “drown I guess.” Another close scrape. Maybe it was all luck.
Ellis shivers, wet and so thankful that he had been saved as he heard the others. "Y-Yeah, just wet and cold. Thank you so much Rawk for saving me." he says back, nodding and smiling before using Prestidigitation to try to warm/dry his shirt.
Over the next 30 minutes you brave through the worst of the storm while Erro successfully prevents disaster at the helm. The wind and waves abate slightly though the rain continues on for another hour. As the storm continues to pass over you look out at the fleet and find that all of the other ships have survived. Some look a bit rough but all are still functioning. You hear the horn from the lead longship sound across the water, this time in short triple bursts. You watch as the fleet collects tighter in and slows dropping to a quarter sail. The flanking longships glide steadily up alongside the lead longship and you see the captains of each board the lead vessel. About 20 minutes pass while the rain continues to soak your bodies before you see the flag bearing sailors climb up and begin signaling the fleet. From you close proximity you hear a sailor from the lead longship shout, "Full sails, Kainui lies ahead." Just as when the chieftain spoke you hear a single chant echo across the wind. Then a second later the whole fleet resounds the chant three times and abruptly stops. Only the wet sails unfurling break the silence and you set off on the final leg of your trek.
The horn blows and you assume your rowing positions. Your clammy hands slide across the handles of the oars with each motion and Rawk takes the helm to give Erro a break. Kellar nods and gives a supportive pat on the back to Erro, choosing to take Erro's spot on the rowing line for the first hour to give him a full break. You row for an hour and hear the horn sound signaling an end to the shift. Your hands ache and you welcome the short rest. The rain slowly subsides and sparse rays of sunlight pierce through the puffy white clouds to the east at a steep angle. From the angle you estimate its mid afternoon, though your body feels as if it were midnight. The horn blares again and you resume rowing. The cool air from the storm is nearly gone by the time the horn sounds again to end the second rowing shift. A familiar humid heat wave begins to settle in and your breaths become heavier. As Rawk glides across the water and maneuvers a bit south you catch a glimpse of a column of smoke to the southwest. It appears to be miles away but just the sight of it causes your heart to skip a beat.
You take another short rest before the horn echoes out and resume rowing. You row for two hours straight, your bodies straining to maintain after the exertion from trying to survive the storm. The column of smoke grows larger and the outline of the village can be seen only 5 miles away. The clouds are now sporadic and the red orange sky ahead denotes the approaching end to the day. "We should arrive in an hour or so."Kellar says. "The storm tried to kill us but our will to live was too strong. In the end the storm only aided us by pushing us towards our destination faster than we could ourselves. We are fortunate, no doubt, but I hope you all have learned the value of determination."

Erro had never been more ready to get to dry land. So close to Kainui he couldn’t help but laugh- the sort of laugh one reflexively does after just surviving a near scrape with disaster. “Determination indeed, Kellar! We will be sure to tell the elders of your bravery. It wouldn’t have been possible without you. Part of the victory against the Yuan-ti will be because of you!”

Darion sighs a little with relief, stretching tired muscles. "It will be good to finally move on with the next stage of the offensive against thy Yuan-ti" he gestures vaguely in the direction of the jungle "However, I am not looking forward to more tramping through the jungle."
Though Darion wont say it out loud, as he does not want to disrespect that people who were killed in the first storm, he really rather enjoyed the sailing. One day, he thinks, it would be good to learn to sail - he had never felt so free as when he was on the water.

Con: 21.
Rawk looked forward to their return to the ground. While sailing was a bit like flying she didn't care much for being tied down to one central location, at least one that was so small. She enjoyed the adventure and added knowledge but she couldn't wait to soar through the branches of the trees once again. There was a second reason as well, one she tried to keep contained though it wanted to break out. her inner rage and hatred of the yuan-ti may finally be satisfied.
The anticipation of your arrival causes time to slow and each foot seems to take an eternity. Erro, you look down at your hands and realize you have some significant blisters that have popped from the exertion of fighting the storm and rowing in the wet conditions. You look around to everyone else and see they all appear to be fine. You fight through the pain and continue to assist in any way possible before Elia takes notice and catches a glimpse of your hands. "Goodness Erro. You should've said something." she whispers to you not wanting to draw attention to it. "Allow me to assist you."she says and covertly as you exchange a bit of rope to be tied down she clasps both your hands in hers and casts cure wounds. You feel a surge of cool soothing energy flow through your hands and look down to see the blisters have scabbed over to partial calluses. They're still a bit pink around the edges but the burning sensation you have become accustomed to in the last few hours has vanished.
As you finish the last leg of your journey across the lake you can already see a gathering from within Kainui. Multiple onlookers cheer at the sight of such a force and a few canoes paddle out to guide the large longships in. You land and make your way down the deck. Once again, Erro's legs seem to lose their natural function and he falls into the water resigning to take the much shorter swim to shore as compared to last time. Rather than standing to walk the last few feet Erro crawls up to a stump and sits. Erro the world around you seems to continuously move up and down as if you were still on the boat. However this time you feel more nauseous and fight the urge to puke. While Erro sits you all watch as the cheiftain greets the council.
"Your fleet has grown since I lasted visited Faelar. You made good time. I trust the gods were kind to you on your journey." Arion says with an extended hand. Faelar, the Dom-Ryn chief grins and grabs the hand pulling her in for a strong embrace. "Kind... for letting us live and guiding us here quickly. Some were not as fortunate." Arion does not resist the embrace and as they pull apart she says softly, "My condolences." Arion turns slightly and address the crowd, "Come, let us welcome our guests. Tonight we will celebrate the alliance forged in bravery. Tomorrow we set off for Dom-Gar to once and for all rid our lands of the yuan-ti." A cheer erupts from the Kainui crowd while the Dom-Ryn soldiers all chant in unison. Arion and Faelar turn to your group and motion you to follow.
Darion looks at the bedraggled Erro, and decides not to repeat his jape from before. When Erro is within reach, he'll offer an arm out to help steady him. "That was good steering you showed there! Thank you for helping keep us on course!" Robyn will land on Erro's shoulder and give him a sympathetic nuzzle.
Darion will follow the rest, keen to get a good nights sleep if possible.
Seeing Erro struggle Rawk will come up behind him and grab under his shoulders. Then as delicately as she can she’ll lift and carry Erro along with the group wherever they need to go.
(I can lift up to 480 pounds so unless Erro’s been pigging out on our rations I think I got him. Lol )
Erro is immesnely thankful towards Ellia as the gnawing pain subsides. "Ellia, you are a treasure! Whenever all this is over and we get back home, anything you need, you just say the word." This allows him more thoroughly enjoy the sight of land. This enjoyment is short lived as he immediately plummets into the water. Green-faced, he thinks "Ah yes, the sea legs."
He will thank Darion for the compliment and note that he must have remembered to turn his necromancy off this time, which he also thanks him for. Erro hesitates reflexively as Robyn lands on his shoulder expecting to feel the warm drip of offal going down his back again, but he is pleased to find only affection. He had planned to barf on her in revenge, but he held this back (hopefully).
Erro resigns himself to the indignity of being carried along in the talons of Rawk for all to see. He barely made it to the stump, after all. He gives a proud nod and "good day" to anyone that they pass who looks at him.
As the sun sets in the sky Erro fights the urge to puke but as Rawk lifts you up your stomach lurches and you vomit up your dinner. You embrace the discomfort too exhausted and dizzy to fight the feeling anymore and sit. You take deep breaths and periodically hold your eyes closed. This time the sensation is much worse and you unconsciously sway back and forth slightly trying to adjust. The group follows alongside the leaders of the villages while everyone else works on disembarking and unloading supplies. You enter into a large teepee similar to the one you entered before and sit in a circle.
Arion looks to each of you then Faelar and speaks. "We are nearly prepared for war. Some in the village are still wary of the odds but I believe the sight of the Dom-Ryn fleet may sway their opinions. We have 60 spears, 40 swords, 20 shamans and 100 bows to aid in the war effort. The rest will remain here to defend our walls, women and children." Chieftain Faelar nods at the respectable number and adds, "Though we lost some to the storms we bring 108 spears, 120 swords and 200 bows. We also brought rations for 30 days. If the war goes on longer than that I fear we must depend on Dom-Gar to support the soldiers."
Elia chimes in, "We should be able to accommodate that. We have another druid at Dom-Gar now working on improving the harvest. Depending on how many come from Dom-Eko and Gnavi, we should have enough to sustain an army for an additional 60 days." "That is good to hear."Faelar replies. Arion nods and says, "If you wish to make the return journey together we will be ready to depart in 2 days."
“Can we help expedite the process in any way?” Rawk asks “I’d prefer to go all together. That large a force should scare off almost any predator. I’d also like to return home as soon as we can.” She says worrying about her father and the others back at her village. Patience was not one of her strengths but thanks to her father she had learned how to deal with it.
Ellis feels really bad for how sick Erro is, listening to everyone before hearing Rawk. "Yes, if there is any way we could be able to get back faster, that would be great." he says back with a smile and a nod.
Darion frowns a little listening to Ellis and Rawk. Though he often prefers action to waiting, he is concerned about the need to prepare "I know we are all keen to get this thing done, to destroy the Yuan-ti, but we must be careful we don't go off half-cocked. Best to be prepared if a couple of days is needed."
If the group is staying, Darion will want to ask around and see if it is possible to get some of the rare materials he needs for transcribing a spell (55gp worth). He will then need six hours to copy a spell from the Necromancer's book into his own.
