"I am fine with waiting. If I can be of assistance though, I'd like to help." Rawk says knowing Erro's situation is not the best and understanding the need for quality over speed.
Erro looks up and smiles at Rawk in appreciation. He notices a tiny bit of vomit that has splattered onto one of her talons and he quickly and discreetly tries to wipe it off. If caught he’d blame it on Robyn.
Arion nods and adds, "We can always use assistance. Perhaps with your aid and aid from Dom-Ryn we could depart tomorrow. However, I think that we should use the additional help to improve the quality of our supplies and keep our departure date. I also believe we are much safer marching together as opposed to staggered groups. For now will continue with our work. Once you've finished unloading your ships, get some rest, it looks like you had a bit of a rough trip. We can handle the rest of the duties for the day. Tomorrow we will gladly accept your help. Should you require anything please let one of our council elders know." Faelar thanks Arion and replies, "My soldiers will assist in whatever way they can. I agree with delaying the march until the soldiers of Kainui are fully prepared. I fear this will be an extended war, but I am hopeful it is one we will be victorious in." Faelar and Arion stand and move to exit unless you have any other requests or thoughts you wish to make known.
(If no one has anything, everyone make your preparations for the night and roll two d20s for whatever you plan to do tomorrow. One roll will be for the morning and the other for the afternoon. Please detail how you plan on spending each time slot then we can RP as we go.)
Ellis listens to everyone, realizing that it would be better to wait as he nods. Once they all have unloaded the ships, he would have gotten ready to settle down and then go to sleep. As for tomorrow, during the morning he will help try to motivate and encourage everyone to do their best. Then in the afternoon, he will assist and help anyone with any tasks that is needed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Darion would collapse down for some welcome sleep. Tomorrow, he is going to try and find the ingredients he needs for transcribing a spell (55gp worth), and if he is able to find them he will then spend the time learning & copying the spell to his own book.
Erro will go to sleep very early, hoping to be able to recover. Utterly exhausted and sick I doubt anyone would be able to get anything out of him the whole rest of the night. He even refuses fermented drink.
The next day Erro would offer Darion help with funding or finding what materials he needed, on the one precondition that the spell that he was working on would not be used to summon forth any demons or devils, "or any of that nonsense." Otherwise he would assume light duty, hoping to further recover and save his strength. He might walk around and talk to soldiers or commanders and try to find out their capabilities and how they thought they would do battle with the Yuan-ti, on a tactical level.

Rawk will transfer Erro wherever he wants to go before nightfall then spread out her things, partially waterlogged from the rain and waves, to dry and check on her sword, axe and shield to make sure they show no signs of damage. Then she'll prepare a small nest on her cot and settle in for the night.
The next day she will spend using her speed and strength to help collect and move supplies for the soldiers. If she sees her friends she'll take a moment to check in but otherwise will devote the day to helping everyone else prepare. She'll also make sure her clothes and personal effects are dry before packing them up.
Ellis- You help a little by the docks and grab a few nuts as a pre-slumber snack before heading off to bed. You wake up feeling well rested and instead of lifting supply crates you decide to lift the spirits of every individual you encounter. You see Erro and Elia handing out breakfast of smoked or fire seared fish deliciously flavored with fresh herbs. Throughout the morning you visit various sections of the village while nibbling on the fish and sing short peppy songs that cheer the villager and soldiers. Your efforts are soon noticed and you are given a small platform that amplifies your voice near from the docks into the village. You put on a mini concert similar to the much shorter performance you gave on your journey from Dom-Ryn. As the morning turns to afternoon you take a break from singing to eat and decide to help in a more physical manner. No matter where you are sent to help you catch people humming and muttering parts of your songs while their heads bob or feet tap the ground. By the end of the day you are tired but also energized by the collective aura of enthusiasm for the war effort.
Darion- You find sleep much easier on the comfy bed in the visitor center than the cramped catamaran. You awake to the familiar smells of cooking fish and find Erro and Elia have prepared breakfast for the village. Thanks to Ellis' inspiration and concert you are able to locate a village shaman who has some of the necessary components for your spell. The shaman then directs you to three other shamans who each partially aide in you obtaining all the required ingredients for your spell. After having a bite to eat while enjoying the music from Ellis you return to the Kainui visitor center and begin transcribing the spell into your spell book. You carefully trace the lines of the arcane runes and write them into your book. You practice and mimic the verbal or somatic portions of the spell for a couple hours before you feel confident in your mastery over the spell. Jubilant over your success you walk out into the village and sit on the dock watching Robyn attempt to fish.
Erro- Rawk has to carry you to the visitor center and lay you down on the bed. Though your stomach rumbles for food you decline any offers and resolve to sipping water. You close your eyes and feel the world spin but you push down the lump in your throat and eventually find sleep. You awaken and slowly open your eyes. The sensation seems to have passed and as you tenderly plant each foot on the ground you feel the world is back to normal. Your stomach rumbles again protesting the long night of being empty and you quickly grab a handful of nuts. Your hunger satisfied you head out in the early hours of the morning while the rest of your friends, except Elia slumber. You find Elia on the edge of the docks by a pile of fish. She smiles and says, "Morning Erro. I see your legs are working properly again. Mind helping me carry these over to the bonfires?" and suddenly you are splashed in the face as a two large crocodiles emerge from the water and drop fish onto the dock beside Elia. Elia chuckles to herself and sends the crocs away dispelling them in flashes of green natural energy. You spend the morning cooking and handing out meals to the whole village. Your back seems to be handling the lighter stress quite well compared to the laborious rowing and sailing it went through for the past week. After taking a break to sit under a tree you see Faelar and Arion chatting with one another and make your way over to them. They do not protest your presence instead seeming to welcome it. You discuss logistics and tactics for a few hours while you maneuver through the village inspecting the carts, supplies and soldiers. Occasionally you see Rawk flying overhead carrying a crate of supplies and a grin crosses your face. What you find is that both Faelar and Arion prefer strategic attacks on outposts and patrols rather than an all out assault on the temple, though both agree that at some point a temple assault will be necessary. Throughout the conversation you catch Faelar tapping his foot and humming one of Ellis' songs. Each time you catch him he stops abruptly and tries to appear more serious. (If you have any specific questions or insights feel free to post and they'll respond.)
Rawk- You carry Erro to the visitor center and lay him on a bed urging him to eat or drink to which he only sips water. You carefully open your pack and pull out all your belongings that are quite damp but not entirely soaked. You examine each of your weapons and find no chipping or rust yet and settle in for the night. You wake to succulent smells of cooked fish and fly over for your own portion. After breakfast you spend the day flying supplies back and forth. At first you are unused to the layout of the trees and twice you nearly drop a crate as it catches on a branch. As the day wears on you develop a better sense of the forest that the village is set within and optimize your routes. You quickly manage to keep pace with the soldiers and soon it becomes a bit of a game. By mid afternoon soldiers are tossing crates into the air just to see you snatch them and carry them off, each time cheering you on.
Everyone- Before the sun sets the whole village is prepared and ready to depart, thanks in large part to your efforts. A large feast of fish and fruits is provided by Elia and the local shamans. Ellis steps back onto the platform and delivers a final short concert that is met with cheers and war chants. The morale of the two villages and band of heroes grows and you all enjoy the dinner feast as you watch the sun set.
Darion is pleased by the days efforts, and in the evening he wanders to the feast. Knowing that a long journey lies ahead, he makes sure not to get to drunk this time, but sits comfortably down to eat. Robyn comes and sits on his shoulders, happily eating little bits of food that he gives her. He will not talk much, though checks on Erro to see if he is feeling better. As the evening wears on he would probably join in with singing some of Ellis' songs. If he gets a chance to talk to his main companions during the evening, he will ask "So, looks like war is almost upon us... how do we actually rate our chances? I confess, the expedition has gone far smoother than I expected, though not without loss. Let us hope that Tymora continues to bless us..."
Erro was pleased to be back to feeling like himself after he chomped down the very large handful of nuts. Despite some good moments at the helm of the boat, he did feel somewhat embarassed of his glass stomach and resolved that perhaps he should do some work to improve his intestinal fortitude.
That morning was one of his favorite mornings that he could remember. When he was honest with himself, he realized that he had become quite smitten by Elia without first noticing it. What quicker way would there to be get ejected from his new home than to fall for someone like that? He was sick of being a wanderer and most desperately wanted somewhere to finally call home. He sighed, perhaps it was just some fleeting fancy, spurred on by a series of calamatous and dramatic moments shared together. Such times had a way of manufacturing affections, after all. Erro wouldn't put in too much effort to hide it, not just yet, but that will be saved for when we get back to Dom-Gar.
Erro feels heartened as he is welcomed by the commanders. He agreed that the army didn't seem to be outfitted for an outright direct assault. Though they were cunning indeed, the Yuan-ti were also prideful, and that could be something to exploit in guerilla warfare. Erro would wonder specifically if the army, or individual soldiers/squads had any countermeasures against the Yuan-ti's charms and mind tricks? He'd wonder especially what would happen if one of the commanders were charmed by their magic. He may also wonder if there were any special units or special talents that the army had in particular. He'd be quite chatty as usual, but perhaps not in his blithe way.
Rounding out the night Erro sits on the docks looking at the pink sunset, taking deep drafts of his pipe, blowing smoke rings out over the lake. He'll speak with Darion, "I hope that I am not being too optimistic, but fate, or Tymora, has been kind to us so far, hasn't she? They have lost Slithotep, descended into civil war, and lost the Lingering Shadow. What else do they have? From what you tell me of Fenthasza and her poisoner she does sound quite dangerous, but the same way a cornered and hunted beast is dangerous. What do you think you will do if we win?
Darion sits comfortably next to Erro, feeling more relaxed in his company now, given all they had been through over the last couple of weeks.
"My fear is Fenthasza's intelligence and cunning more than anything else. I can well believe she has tricks left to surprise us with. The poisoner scares me, but I haven't forgot that strange creature that nearly did for me, back in the temple. What other dark magics can she summon? Even without that, our play here is predictable - though we would have been fools not to play it. She will have been thinking over a counter play of her own no doubt, and I have little experience with war to guess what that might be."
Darion thoughtfully chews on a piece of fruit, thinking about home "If we win I should head home, see my mum and step-father." he pauses for a long moment, torn, but finally decides to go on "Perhaps, selfishly, I'll have a tale of daring - some treasure from the temple that will impress!" he reaches to the locket round his neck, pulling it out and opening it. The image of young woman is preserved in there, a minor illusion that captures her likeness. "Her names Lilia. We are... well, you know. But her father is some big noble in the city, he is determined to match her to someone 'appropriate to her station'. Not some jumped up boy from the slums."
Darion laughs a little bitterly "Ironic, 10 years ago he was little more than a bandit, raiding caravans and such. Of course, most of these were Yuan-ti controlled, so when they were overthrown he was treated like some sort of noble freedom fighter!Who knows, perhaps he might change his mind if I come back a great hero against the Yuan-ti!" Darion's sarcastic snort shows he doesn't really believe that.
He puts the locket away, lost in thought, then turns to Erro "If I die, and you live would you find my mum, and Lilia and let them know..." he pauses, embarrassed, and the sentence tails of there.
Ellis will have happily performed, relieved that his songs and his words have helped out everyone, cheering them up. This is what he loved to do, wishing that all of this was under better circumstances though. After having eaten, he would meet up with the others as he had heard Erro and Darion's questions and thoughts regarding their chances. "With all the forces that we have gotten now and how much the Yuan-ti have lost, we should be able to beat them if we're fast enough to stop them. Yes, Fenthasza is certainly dangerous and that poisoner will be as well with those zombies of his. But while they may underestimate us, we can't give up and have to fight back as hard as we can like in the temple." Ellis gave his thoughts, optimistic that they will win in this battle against the Yuan-ti. He felt bad for Darion, hearing about Lilia and thinking of how he will go back home once they win, wanting so badly to hug his mother.
Rawk would enjoy the thrill of the mental and physical game she creates while moving supplies. Tired but still bouncing with excitement she'd find her friends and check in listening to them all converse. "I have never met this Fenthasza but from what you say she is not to be underestimated. I've hated the yuan-ti all my life and know how brutal they can be. This will not be an easy fight even with the help from the others but I do believe we can win. We have added strength to our numbers. If the other group is as successful we may even outnumber the yuan-ti."
Listening to Darion talk to Erro she squawks, "You're not going to die, at least not alone. We're here to protect each other. If we must perish, then it will take something bigger than all of us to do it. Together we can conquer the yuan-ti." she stops and thinks for a moment. "If Fenthasza or the poisoner are the biggest threats, why don't we try to go after them at the right moment or create a diversion to flush them out?"
Erro- Faelar dismisses the idea of mind control while Arion cautions him and mentions that her shamans are able to remove such effects but that noticing can be difficult.
Everyone- as you sit and converse the villagers all turn to Faelar and Arion who move towards the stage. “As we make our final preparations remember to rest tonight. We depart for Dom-Gar at sunrise tomorrow. The first step towards victory against the Yuan-ti as one United people. Together we can end this evil. Together we will be victorious." The crowd of villagers and soldiers erupts into chants and cheers. Minutes turn to an hour and with stomachs full you watch as the crowd begins to disperse as each person retires for the night. You sit and continue to chat before following suit. Conflicting emotions make it difficult to find sleep but thanks to the exhaustion from the days work you are able to find rest. You awaken the following morning feeling a bit different. Your mind feels sharper and your muscles slightly stronger. You look around and pack your things just as the first rays of sunlight begins to break across the sky. As you exit the visitor center you see the long line of soldiers waiting in formation to depart. At the head of the formation Faelar stands and you hear the horn blow. A chant erupts from the soldiers and you set off on your way to Dom-Gar.
I need a d12, perception checks from two people and a survival check with advantage.
Still green, Erro will add, “if we go back now you’ll have to carry me!”
The better he got the more triumphant he would feel, seeing the assembled army, and knowing there were even more scheduled to join the fight.
