I was admittedly a little excited when the Suggestion spell worked, but there was creative problem solving and good rolls to stop poor Ellis from ringing the bell. If he did this dungeon would have last at least another month of posting!
I want to DM but i think for the benefit of the group I shouldn't until March at the earliest. I will be traveling most of January and February and won't be able to post as often as I would need to if DM'ing. In addition, I haven't even looked at possible adventures either so I don't want to go in unprepared and deliver a sub-par game.
Good question JustBrad - I fall into the 'willing' camp; As I run my home D&D campaign, I am enjoying the chance to be a PC! However, am happy to DM if needed.
I know before I said I would be willing to DM, but I'm soon going to be studying to possibly get my real estate license so I'll barely have the time to post as a player, never mind DMing.
All good! We’ll see what Sixfoot10 has to say, and if he doesn’t feel like it, l’ll keep the party going until Xtracrispy feels like he wants to give it a shot!
Good luck on your study! We ran our poor realtor ragged and it seemed like she answered questions and was doing stuff at all times of the day and night. Work/life balance has to be a challenge in that field!
Lol, oh boy. Yeah, that’s what I’m most worried about since I’m so used to M-F jobs having weekends off or at least being able to take them off with this job, always having the weekends to play D&D, Larp, go to conventions, and volunteer at events/conventions. But they say that most agents take at least one weekend day off and for more than a day, just requires communicating that you won’t be available at that time. So hopefully I can hustle enough that I can afford to take Saturday evenings off and weekends for a few conventions still.
Hi sorry not to have posted for last few days - unfortunately family illness / bereavement occurred. I am happy with above arrangement - but if you would really prefer to be a player JustBrad I don't mind running things until Xtracrispie is ready to take on the mantle. Has anyone heard from Sixfoot10, he doesn't seem to have been on for a couple of weeks?
Foofaspoon, that would be great! As I have stated numerous times, life is in a bit of an upheaval for me lately, and a reprieve would be welcome! You take the wheel until Xtracrispy can, or, until you have had your fill and then I can take back over!
As for where to go next, it’s up to you! I imagine some cooperative world building and storytelling here. It’s an alternative Forgotten Realms setting.
Okay, fantastic. I'll take over DMing for a couple of months. I've got an outline of a mini-adventure; a follow on from what we have been doing if people are okay with that. I probably won't get a chance to bring the ideas together for a couple of days - shall we aim to recommence on Monday evening (my time). In the meantime, JustBrad could you PM me with ideas / brief background for Erro, and we can think about how to get him introduced as soon as possible?
Similarly, if any one else wants to raise anything (e.g. backstory related) about their character that they might want to start exploring, just give me a PM as well. Hopefully Sixfoot10 will have got back in touch by then and we can all proceed. I'll find a plot-reason for Darion to take a back seat for this adventure, which I think makes sense!
Sounds great! Tally ho! I appreciate you picking up the torch! I hope everyone is cool with this rotating format! Perhaps it is a little less cohesive, but I’ve got no idea where it will wind up going, so that’s kind of neat!
That was an awesome adventure JustBrad. Sorry for dropping out last week or so. It was the end of our trip in the USA. Had an awesome time, but back to a regular routine.
So are we going to continue with the same characters or start something new?
The general plan is to keep the same characters and move up to level 4 (though if DM wants to keep it at 3 he can!). I suppose since that was a good 5 months of you are bored of your character I think you could feel free to change!

Suggestion is one of those that either as a player or DM is either COOL or meh. When it works, such fun, when it doesn't... feels so disappointing!
Do you like my Boots of Flying?
So who wants to take the plunge? We’ll start with who WANTS to DM before we move to whoever is willing to DM.

Oh I’m sure it’s a double-edged sword. For all of the hustling you’ll also get to run your own schedule, which is nice!
Yeah, that will be nice and hopefully I can get to that point where I can set my own schedule and still be able to live comfortably financially.

Haven't heard anything from him.

Sounds good to me. Are we still going to have our characters move up to 4th level?
Okay, Monday works and the plan sounds good. I'll try to post as often as I can do so while taking my classes.

Yes, everyone goes to level 4!
