Moira- at first glance it is just a simple hut, make a Perception check with your hawk's perception skill (you do get advantage since it's sight based) to see if you notice anything more
Sora- check your pms ;)
Nemeia, 9- you can make an additional perception check if you'd like, or I can just go with what you already rolled, your choice
As Nemeia walks up to where the tree is blocking the path, she watches as Sora places her grip against the aged bark. With a quick heave, Sora pushes against the trunk. The large piece of wood moves more easily then it looked, and sails quickly off the road, knocking over more brush as it settles along side the road, clearing the way before you.
Sorajust stared at the fallen tree she had just tossed aside for a minute. When she finally looked back she almost looked - not surprised - but almost embarrassed, the look quickly faded as she just chuckled casually, almost shyly which was a bit odd for her, "Wow, I guess that log was rotted through or something, that was way easier then I thought it was going to be."
23Deception as she tries to play off the whole thing
Moira- There's nothing that you can see that seems particularly dangerous about this hut. You're pretty sure someone is living there though as you can see a faint bit of smoke coming out of what you assume to be a small chimney at the top of the structure. Though something about the hut isn't quite right. You've had exposure back in Stilstream with lumber and how it's used to build small houses like this. They don't look like this when built properly. If anything that looks more like it was grown out of a tree to look like hut.
9- You don't notice anything new. However looking at the log that Sora tossed aside, it doesn't look rotted through, in fact it looks like it would be really heavy if you were to try doing the same thing.
“There’s nothing that I can see that seems particularly dangerous about the hut. I’m pretty sure someone is living there though as I can see a faint bit of smoke coming out of what I assume to be a small chimney at the top of the structure. Though something about the hut isn't quite right. I've had exposure back in Stilstream with lumber and how it's used to build small houses like this. They don't look like this when built properly. If anything that looks more like it was grown out of a tree to look like hut.”
Moira sends one of the hawks to perch on the top of the hut and let out a screech if it sees anything approaching. The other she flies to land on the window sill and look around for anyone inside the hut. She mutters out loud hoping someone nearby will hear her. "I'm looking around the hut quick with my hawk but we can go."
Almost the instant the hawk moved onto the window of the hut, everything suddenly went black. The hawk familiar was apparently forcibly dismissed; perhaps something damaged it or its magic was dispelled, it was impossible to tell what had happened. Moira was suddenly back to her own senses, her connection to that familiar simply gone. The other hawk that had been on the roof was still there, but from its vantage point it couldn't see exactly what had happened to the other hawk.
While Moira was busy with her familiars scouting ahead, Sora simply looked around, trying to avoid eye contact, as she casually dismissed her recent feat. "Yeah, well, it was nothing. We should get going soon." Looking back at Moira as she narrated her scouting trip she added, trying to shift the topic of conversation, "So is this hut something we should be checking out?"
Quickly telling the remaining hawk to return Moira returns to her own senses. "I don't know what is in that hut but it did something to get rid of my hawk when it tried to go in. I think we should just leave it for now. Do you need any help moving the....Oh you already cleared it great. We should go."
If you're sure, then yes, I think we're ready to go. Right Gerald? Witt calls over. Or we can go investigate the hut if you like. It might be dangerous, but after all, we are brave adventures now, he grins as he says this, half joking and half serious.
Gerald looks up from the cart he was sitting in as Witt calls out to him, looking even more surly then usual from the relative lack of sleep."Aye, we got food ta deliver, an' we've wasted enough time as is. I say let's go fer now. Ye' all cannea come back here an' be brave adventurers all ye want later!"
Nemeia nods at the suggestion thinking it was also the best course of action. "It definitely sounds intriguing," Nemeia says as she begins to climb back into the wagon. "If it's capable of disrupting your hawk, it's definitely something I'd like to research more once we get these goods safely to the castle."
9 squints her eye a little at Sora as she lifts the tree, but stays silent for now. She later approaches her while they start to move again, “You seemed a little nervous lifting that tree up. I know it wasn’t as easy as you made it look. You want to talk about something, I’m here. Fine if you don’t.”, she speaks in her usual quiet, raspy, creaking voice, but does not make eye contact with her, just slightly walking or sitting nearby, waiting for a reaction if any. Her face seems as tense as usual, as she stares into the general direction of the hut.
Sora looks back at 9 for a moment then simply nods as she looks back at the road ahead, "Appreciate it. Really. But there's nothing to worry about. I'm fine, really."
You would be able to tell she's probably trying to convince herself more then anyone else.
Leaving the mystery of the swamp hut behind, the party regroups along with the rest of the caravan and begins heading north once more along the road. The sun is shining brightly now in the afternoon, which makes the trek just that much more miserable in the thick humidity of the surrounding swamp. At least for now the road seems quiet and peaceful. As if no one could be bothered to do anything in the oppressive heat of the afternoon sun.
The long travel continues, if anyone wanted to continue any RP. In the meantime one last Perception or Survival check for anyone assisting the guards.

As 9 notices no trace of ambush, she starts looking into the far sides of the road, just scanning the nearby area.
Perception + Guidance : 18 + 3

Witt stares at Sora. How did you get so strong? He keeps an eye out for anything unusual in the area: Perception 9

Nemeia looks at Sora with an impressed expression. "Well done!," she says happily. "A giant tree isn't going to slow us down!"
"The hut sounds fascinating. I'm not sure we can just leave the caravan here though while we go tracing off after weird huts though."
(Is there an open window or other way into the hut big enough for a hawk)

9 nods and shrugs, but stays near Sora for the time being, still observing the road ahead,
