"We're decided then." Sora nods to the rest of the group before turning back to the door ahead of them. Before trying to enter she examines the door, making sure it's not locked or has any traps that would be an issue.
Once she's satisfied that it's relatively safe to open the door she will pull out her swords and charge through the entrance into the next room, ready to fight right away.

Fortunately it seemed the doors weren't trapped or locked, not in any meaningful way, as Sora is easily able to push open the doorway.
Unfortunately this was mainly because the goblins on the other side were laying in wait, ready to receive any form of attack from the wandering intruders within their lair.
On the other side of the door was possibly the largest room of this mine, at least 30 feet across in any direction. In the center, towards the back of the room, was a large pile of coins, though it was hard to tell what kind at first glance. Atop this pile was a makeshift throne created by the goblins; using spare wood to build a palette on top of which they placed a throne chair of obvious goblin construction.
Standing on this crude throne was a larger goblin, in sturdy armor that appeared to be made of very roughly shaped pieces of copper ore that they had picked up from the mine. He wielded a nasty looking scimitar in one hand, and a battered shield in the other. From underneath his helm he gave the party an enraged glare.
Surrounding him were six other goblins. Two in the back were wielding crossbows while three up front were well armored with shields making a defensive line. The final goblin was currently just cowering next to the goblin leader, though he pulled out daggers at the ready as soon as the door burst open.
In a fit of rage the apparent goblin leader pointed his scimitar at the party and yelled in the goblin tongue. In response to whatever it was he said, all the other goblins prepared to attack immediately.
As he yells at all of his lackeys in this room he takes hold of a nearby javelin laying on the wood floor near him and throws it at Sora as she's the first to burst through the doorway.
Attack: 21 Damage: 3
The projectile manages to scrape against Sora's shoulder but does little more then give her a small scar.
9 will make her way to the closest goblin, standing within 10mfeet of them, and snap her whip with Booming Blade at it. She takes aim at its leg, twisting the handle of the whip to fit her bidding. Attack: 16 Damage: 8, thunder damage if it moves: 4
9 strides up towards the armored goblins, staying to one side to remain out of their reach as she unleashes thunderous divine energy through her whip. The hard leather tip lands a solid blow past the goblin's armor. As he clutches at the vicious wound from the whip, the storm of divine energy inside his body begins to tear at his internal organs, and he soon falls over, clutching at his body as blood begins to drool from out of his helm.

Moira
Hearing the fight erupt up ahead Moira tosses the rock still shining with Witt's Light spell toward the sound. Seeing the goblins now she backs down the passage way they had just come down as far as she can while still keeping one of the crossbow wielders in view. Carefully aiming her wand so as to avoid her companions she extends her wand toward the creature "Sicigam Enoitaripsni"
Nemeia looks into the room as the door swings open. A rush of nerves washes over her as she sees the goblins ready to attack. She reaches into her satchel and grabs one of the balls of fabric and metal. She twists the two halves and lobs it toward the wooden palette hoping to cause it to ignite. As the ball ignites into flame, Nemeia attempts to move back into the hall away from the goblins but still within site so she can use her crossbow as needed.
Attack: 19 Damage: 7
Cast Fire Bolt at the palette. "A flammable object hit by this spell ignites if it isn't being worn or carried."
Whenever you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you can cause flames to wreathe you until the end of your next turn. The flames don’t harm you or your possessions, and they shed bright light out to 30 feet and dim light for an additional 30 feet. While the flames are present, any creature within 5 feet of you that hits you with a melee attack takes 1d4 fire damage.

Moira launches arcane energy out of her hand, soaring over the heads of the rest of the party and the goblins ahead, seeking the crossbow wielding goblin just at the edge of her sight. The bolt just barely manages to hit true, slamming against the shoulder of the goblin, causing it to spin in the air under the force of the blow before dropping to the ground unconscious.
Nemeia follows quickly behind tossing a small ball of fire into the fray, landing it on the wooden palette that the goblin leader was standing on. The shoddy wooden construction ignites in flames almost immediately, while the other goblins around the edge manage to avoid the flames, the goblin boss is caught off-guard with nowhere to go as the flames lick up his now burning legs.
Empowered by her spell Nemeia's body is quickly surrounded by protective arcane flames which light up the entire cavern.
The rest of the goblins charge to counter attack right away. They focus on the two adventurers in the front of the group, Sora and 9. One of the guards moves up to Sora while the remaining crossbow wielder attacks from afar. While the two remaining goblins move up to attack 9.
As the goblin falls to her spell a faint shadow streaks back up the path of the blast to Moira. She draws in a sharp breath feeling as though a surge of adrenaline just shot through her veins.
As he calls out to the goblins Witt's arrow streaks through the group and embeds itself deep into one of the goblins next to 9. The goblin rogue clutches at the arrow now sticking out of its throat as his eyes roll back and he falls over to the ground.
Soramoves around quickly, circling the goblin next to her while keep the one close to 9 nearby, thus she repositions herself to move even closer to the action before unleashing her sword swings against the two goblins next to her.
Sora's deft footwork allow her to move into position to battle two goblins at once. Swinging her swords expertly, her first swing fails to find purchase but she capitalizes with her second swing and digs her blade deep into the goblin between her and 9. The goblin falls over hard to the ground as it crumples from its sustained injuries.
Top of the new round ... Goblin Boss Turn:
Meanwhile the goblin leader shrieks as the throne he was standing on is lit on fire all around him, he leaps off the platform and moves back close to the remaining crossbow wielder.
Damage from starting his turn in the fire: 6
Check to see if he's currently on fire: 8
Failed. As he's still on fire he will spend his action to put himself out.
Yelling madly, the goblin leader barks orders at the remaining living goblins in their native tongue as he takes the time to put out the flames on his clothing.
9's whip sails across the air as thunder fills the room, snapping directly towards the goblin boss's leg. But at the last moment the goblin leader moves his shield across and manages to bat the whip away without being harmed.
Moira creeps forward to get the other crossbow goblin in view. giving her wand a swish "Xirtatnac" and a flick "Sicigam Enoitaripsni". Suddenly in the brightly lit room threads of shadow wrap around the goblin followed swiftly by an arcane blast of energy. And Moira moves moves back away from the room once more.
The shadow creep around the crossbow wielding goblin gripping him tightly just as another arcane blast shoots through the room and slams into him hard. The shadows seem to grip into his injuries, hurting him even further. The intense trauma leaves the goblin unconscious before he stumbles to the floor unmoving as his crossbow clatters away from him.

Nemeia takes aim at the goblin directly in front of her and fires her crossbow, but the shot goes wide and the magical bolt strikes the rear wall of the cavern.

The goblin that was just fired upon remains too focused his battle with Sora, and he swings hard with his weapon.
Attack: 6 Damage: 7
The strike lands a solid hit, and the blade digs deep into Sora's side! The goblin cackles as he watches the fresh blood dripping from his blade, then moves carefully so he stands next to 9 as well.

Witt, disheartened that talking is not an option, but determined to protect his friends, takes aim and fires an arrow at the goblin that just attacked Sora:
Witt's target is fairly easy to reach with his bow, and the arrow manages to catch the goblin on the side not protected by his shield. The arrow sinks into flesh, easily getting past the leather armor. With a shocked look on his face the goblin struggles to breath as he feels the arrow dig deep inside him before finally falling over unconscious.
Now only the goblin leader remains.
