Sora stood there for a moment with the throwing axe in her hand ready to attack in case the undead thing began moving. Eventually when it became clear nothing was happening she put her weapon away. "I don't know." She answered to Nemeia, "But not surprised there's more nasty surprises in this place. We should keep looking, but stick together if we can."
Nemeia nods in agreement and decides to stick close to Sora. She seemed more than capable of handling anything that would try to attack them. She focuses on trying to find any clues as to what was going on here and where the Duke and his mistress may have gone.
Do you think it was guarding something? Or set here as a trap for us or for someone else? Or, maybe it was just... here. Left behind and forgotten. Witt is overcome with a wave of sadness, and he looks at what remains of the creature. Is there anything we can do, 9?
9 shrugs as she carefully steps around the room, investigating the rubble, “Can’t do much for them. Let’s have a look around , maybe we’ll find something. Cheer up Witt, we’re making progress”
If he can, Witt will help the others to investigate. Oh, I'm okay, don't worry,he smiles at 9. Hey, maybe we released a soul so that it can find its rest. It would be nice to think that, so I think I shall.
Searching this room, you find most of it is exactly as it first appears. A great deal of destroyed furniture partially or almost completely burned. The zombie you battled is the only corpse to find in this room, though it seems even more decomposed now. There is a great deal of ash in the room from all of the burnt furniture. Eventually as you investigate you realize that the stone floor and walls of this room show no signs of any normal fire other then the layer of ash that has settled everywhere. Even the glass of the many windows that surround the room seems completely unaffected. It doesn't take long to realize that whatever burned the furniture, and possibly killed this corpse, was not any sort of normal fire.
Unfortunately there is nothing else of interest in this room that you can find.
"The fire that may have killed this corpse and torched the room wasn't natural. Everything in here seems to have been unaffected by the fires beyond some ash. There should have been scorch marks at least. I've spent a fair bit of time around fire and know that at least. I don't know that there's anything else in here though. This is all so odd. We should keep looking."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I agree, we should move on." Sora nods in agreement with Nemeia and moves on to see if there is another door in this room. She will make sure to check for traps just in case.
There is one other door in this circular room which Sora inspects and finds nothing of interest. Beyond that doorway Sora will find an outdoor hallway of sorts which leads farther back into the house. Daylight streams into the hallway from both a pair of open barred windows, but also from the larger bars of the gate leading out of the house proper.
Khorzik proceeds to the next unexplored room on this floor. He scans it with detect magic and then searches it thoroughly. He attempts to stay with others doing the same. If there is noises of combat / traps / etc, he leaves his current location to assist and participate in initiative, if possible. If the room he is searching has nothing of interest, he proceeds to the next closest room. When the first floor is cleared and everyone is ready, he proceeds to the second floor and repeats the process for the nearest room.
Moving to the next set of doors, you find that both the doorways on the east end of the house lead into the same room, a large dining room suitable for any grand event. This room is not nearly as destroyed as some of the others the group has come across, with a large wooden dining table dominating the center and several chairs of quality craftsmanship sitting around it. However the room is still a mess, with spills on the floor and a general messy disarray. There is one other exit, a large set of double doors on the opposite wall of the room. You also spot two stands of full plate armor on display on two alcoves on the far corners of the room. Before you step foot into that room your detect magic spell warns you of the same sort of Transmutation magic upon the plate armor stands in each corner of the room.
From your understanding of this magic, and your prior experience with the constructs when you first entered, you gather these armors will animate on a trigger, mostly likely one proximity based. In other words, you suspect that as soon as someone gets close enough to either set of armor both of them will activate and begin attacking intruders.
Oh,says Witt, jogging up. What did you find? He peers through past Khorzik and looks on. This looks... a bit dangerous, So I guess this is where we have to go next? He makes no move to enter.
Nemeia makes sure to stop and has Calie do the same when she hears there are more possible enemies ahead if the group triggers them. "So what do we do? Can we just attack them while they're not alive?"
Nemeia follows the sounds and finds the mess that's left. "Is everyone okay? What is that and why is it here? What has she been up to?"

Nemeia nods as she starts to investigate the room trying to find answers. "The sooner we bring her to justice, the better."
