Grabbing a spare handaxe from the pile, Berrand dashes to the nearest tree closer to the attackers, and, popping out of cover, throws his axe at the nearest green warrior. The axe sinks deeply into the creature's shoulder, and it emits a gurgling cry, before slumping against a tree, wounded, but still standing. Almost immediately, one of the purple creatures emits what amounts to a croaking warcry, and leaps up into the tree above Bertrand, before jumping down on top of him, attempting to grapple Bertrand. Trying to coordinate the attack, the golden leader steps forward, and emits a hypnotic chirring sound and urges the warriors towards Berrus, who is the most armoured. Two of the green warriors follow suit, one of them using the cover of the trees to advance, before throwing himself towards Berrus with his dagger, but he is blocked by Berrus' shield. The second of the pair hangs back, too afraid to face Berrus in his battle armour, and instead tries to flank Bertrand and attacks him with his dagger. Bertrand winces in pain as the dagger cuts deep into his thigh and falls onto one knee. One of the two red creatures quickly leaps over to his wounded companion and, murmuring over him, seems to be able to lessen the impact of Bertrand's throwing axe.
Faekin, grabbing his rapier and pressing himself up against a nearby tree to be in cover from the archer, turns around and shouts his discordant melody in the direction of the golden leader: "HaMukaZü!". The leader seems to be unaffected, but still ducks back behind the nearest tree to stay in cover. Faekin doubles over, slumping against the tree and dropping his rapier, before falling unconscious himself.Seeing the relative success of his companions against Bertrand and Faekin, a third green creature leaps towards Berrus and attempts an attack against the hard- pressed dwarf, but he too fails to get past the dwarven shield.
Berrus, you see a red creature with a bow, who likely shot Thasselandra, and the green creature that was attacked by Bertrand, both of whom have not yet acted, the rest of the attackers are dispersed as described above. You need to try and resist the stunning effect of the hypnotic chirring (WIS save DC 12) before acting.

Mesmerized by the chirping sound, Berrus stands locked in place, doing nothing other than instinctively blocking the incoming attacks with his shield. Seeing this, Brax rushes over to him, slashing at one of the green attackers with his own handaxe and slashing at the creature with his dagger, meanwhile shouting at Berrus to get him out of his stupour. The injured Grung hangs back, trying to do his best to protect his leader, and nursing his injury. The red archer meanwhile is taking aim and letting fly against Bertrand. The arrow strikes him in the shoulder, and, with a gasp, Bertrand collapses in a quickly spreading puddle of his own blood.

With a gasp, Bertrand opens his eyes, covered in blood and with a broken arrow stuck in his shoulder, but ready to carry on fighting. Cliff, seeing the toll the attackers had already taken on the group and the missing courage of the attackers flies into a rage, and charges directly at the archer, leaping a good ten feet and tackling him into a nearby bush, pummeling the grung on the floor.
Falx grabs the unconscious Thessalandra, and drags her into cover, before shouting to Shae to take care of the attackers, while he's trying to stop the bleeding.
Shae and Professor, you're up. First, DC 12 Wis Save, then your actions.

The effect of the mesmerising chirp has ended, everyone can take their action as normal!
Although hurt, Bertrand is capable to fight on, thanks to Maxine's cure. With his club, he strikes the attacker who slashed him with a dagger square in the face, before swinging his fist in a cruel backhanded swing against the purple warrior. The green warrior crumples at his feet, unconscious or dead.
The purple brave slashes at Bertrand with his dagger. Although only superficial, the wounds take an immediate effect on Bertrand, who feels a numbing sensation spread in his arms, and rendering his attacks less effective, before he screams in pain as the poison takes hold, leaving him barely capable of remaining upright. The golden leader, startled by Cliff's charge, slashes at his exposed back with his dagger, trying to free the archer pinned underneath.
The purple warrior that attacked Faekin grabs the bleeding, unconscious body and leaps back towards their leader, while another green warrior covers his retreat by slashing at Berrus, though unsuccessfully. Trying to use the opening, his green comrade attempts his luck, and manages to get past the shield, but the blow gets blunted by Berrus' armour and his natural dwarven resistance to poison.
Berrus takes 6 points of damage in total. The calculation is below, but halfed for the poison and halved for the slash thanks to his chainmail.
Frustrated, the attacker croaks something in his native tongue. At this, the red healer of the attacking warband steps into the clearing, murmuring and gesturing towards a point in the middle of the camp, just a few feet before the bonfire.

a low humming is heard from Berrus, growing louder and louder until it breaks out into a strange chant, suddenly able to move he starts forward at a steady pace towards the Red creature swinging first at the Green creature that struck him Attack: 23 Damage: 3
then bashing his shield into the other creature 6 (OOC not sure what damage if any-shield bash was narrative :)
Berrus slashes at a green warrior to his side, and though the cut appears superficial, the creature is badly wounded by the accumulation of slashes. Trying to get some more space to manoeuvre, he puts his weight behind the buckler and slams it into the grung on his right.
Seeing the grung being pushed back but Cliff getting injured, Brax rushes forwards to Cliff's aid, only to start screaming as he takes 5 damage from spikes and thorns suddenly appearing on the ground around him. The pain pushes him over the edge, and Brax flies into a rage, and pushes on through, ignoring the pain and the bleeding legs and feet as he covers the remaining fifteen feet to the grung leader ( 12 halved). Once in range, Brax unleashes a ferocious attack, guided by sheer, unbridled fury, hacking at the leader with his axe and slashing him with his dagger.
Seeing their leader in peril, the injured grung charges at Brax, tackling him away from the leader, but though momentarily surprised, Brax blocks the attempt and throws the grung warrior to the side. Seeing two ferocious berserkers among their midst, the Archer takes aim at Cliff and hastily lets fly, but the haste means he misses his mark and the arrow flies off into the woods.

With a satisfying thud, the bolt strikes the archer right through the thigh, causing him to give a quacking cry of anguish and pain.
Cliff, having been attacked from multiple sources, uses the momentary distraction to try and wrest the dagger away from the leader, but after a severe struggle fails to do so. Falx, having gotten the Captain to safety, meanwhile opts to engage these skirmishers from a distance, by firing his crossbow at the injured warrior still bothering Berrus. With a surprised gasp, the grung warrior collapses to the ground as Falx' bolt slams through his windpipe.

Professor S:
Recovering from the torpor caused by the strange chirring sound, the Professor takes in the situation around him, content for the moment to remain half hidden behind the barrels. The alarm spell rings a belated warning as the perimeter is breached by their attackers.
He sees the hand axe on the edge of the clearing, lying unnoticed on the ground after being thrown at one of the enemies. Calculating angles and assessing threats, the Professor makes a quick hand gesture and the hand axe suddenly hurtles from its resting place in a straight line towards the enemy red healer’s back!
Eyes wide in shock, the healer turns around, axe stuck in his back, arms akimbo. Gurgling for air, he stumbles, before catching himself on a tree, remaining upright, but seriously hurt, and with his concentration on whatever spell he had cast broken. Still unsure where the attack came from, he scans the area, unable to puzzle out the Professor's exact location.

Shae would snap back to it hearing the red healer gurgle in pain from a catapulted axe. Her eyes would narrow in on him and she’d launch a familiar ball of crackling energy his way.

With a streak of bright light, Shae unleashes her eldritch blast right into the healer... but the grung ducked the blast in the last moment, having it smash into the tree behind him. Focusing on Faekin, still in the clutches of a purple warrior, the healing light finds him, and he opens his eyes, still in the grasp of the creature.
Zip, noticing that Faekin might need some support, immediately fired his crossbow on the purple warrior, hitting him in the flank.

Bertrand, badly hurt from the posioned daggers, digs deep into his reserves, and with second wind starts to hack at the purple brave before him with his handaxe, managing to get a clean slice on the grung's forearm. using the surprise, he doubles up with an elbow strike to the grung's face. Surprised by the two blows, the grung can do little else but to try and slash at Bertrand's slightly exposed torso, going for a nasty stab to the kidneys. The grung leader, harrassed by Brax, uses the opening provided to him by his ally and leaps away from Brax, before letting fly an arrow at him. As the arrow misses its target, he doubles down by taking his dagger and throwing it at Brax, hitting him.
The grung healer, badly hurt by the axe still sticking in his back, wrenches the axe free, and heals himself. Faekin, in the clutches of one of the grung, starts to feel the effect of their poisonous skin, and starts to freeze up, his weakened system unable to cope with the toxins. All he manages to do is to scream out: "Don't touch them... they're... toxic..." before his speech becomes slurred and his limbs go limp. The grung grappling Faekin uses the opportunity to stab the poisoned Faekin with his toxic dagger. Unable to defend himself, the dagger plunges into his side, as Faekin gasps for air, his lungs slowly filling with blood.
The green grung now furthest forward of his party, sees Cliff and Bertrand isolated among their number, and lunges at Bertrand, tackling him to the ground from behind and grappling him to remove the handaxe from his grasp.
Berrus, you see most of the remaining grung ganging up on Bertrand, Brax and Cliff, and you notice that Faekin has lost consciousness, but he's in the middle of the attacking war party. Most of them are badly hurt, but getting close to them is dangerous due to their poisonous skin. You're up!

The golden leader, startled by Cliff's charge, slashes at his exposed back with his dagger, trying to free the archer pinned underneath.
The purple warrior that attacked Faekin grabs the bleeding, unconscious body and leaps back towards their leader, while another green warrior covers his retreat by slashing at Berrus, though unsuccessfully. Trying to use the opening, his green comrade attempts his luck, and manages to get past the shield, but the blow gets blunted by Berrus' armour and his natural dwarven resistance to poison.
Berrus takes 6 points of damage in total. The calculation is below, but halfed for the poison and halved for the slash thanks to his chainmail.
Frustrated, the attacker croaks something in his native tongue. At this, the red healer of the attacking warband steps into the clearing, murmuring and gesturing towards a point in the middle of the camp, just a few feet before the bonfire.

after Shae goes
a low humming is heard from Berrus, growing louder and louder until it breaks out into a strange chant, suddenly able to move he starts forward at a steady pace towards the Red creature swinging first at the Green creature that struck him Attack: 23 Damage: 3
then bashing his shield into the other creature 6 (OOC not sure what damage if any-shield bash was narrative :)

Berrus slashes at a green warrior to his side, and though the cut appears superficial, the creature is badly wounded by the accumulation of slashes. Trying to get some more space to manoeuvre, he puts his weight behind the buckler and slams it into the grung on his right.
Seeing the grung being pushed back but Cliff getting injured, Brax rushes forwards to Cliff's aid, only to start screaming as he takes 5 damage from spikes and thorns suddenly appearing on the ground around him. The pain pushes him over the edge, and Brax flies into a rage, and pushes on through, ignoring the pain and the bleeding legs and feet as he covers the remaining fifteen feet to the grung leader ( 12 halved). Once in range, Brax unleashes a ferocious attack, guided by sheer, unbridled fury, hacking at the leader with his axe and slashing him with his dagger.
Seeing their leader in peril, the injured grung charges at Brax, tackling him away from the leader, but though momentarily surprised, Brax blocks the attempt and throws the grung warrior to the side. Seeing two ferocious berserkers among their midst, the Archer takes aim at Cliff and hastily lets fly, but the haste means he misses his mark and the arrow flies off into the woods.

With a satisfying thud, the bolt strikes the archer right through the thigh, causing him to give a quacking cry of anguish and pain.
Cliff, having been attacked from multiple sources, uses the momentary distraction to try and wrest the dagger away from the leader, but after a severe struggle fails to do so. Falx, having gotten the Captain to safety, meanwhile opts to engage these skirmishers from a distance, by firing his crossbow at the injured warrior still bothering Berrus. With a surprised gasp, the grung warrior collapses to the ground as Falx' bolt slams through his windpipe.

Professor S:
Recovering from the torpor caused by the strange chirring sound, the Professor takes in the situation around him, content for the moment to remain half hidden behind the barrels. The alarm spell rings a belated warning as the perimeter is breached by their attackers.
He sees the hand axe on the edge of the clearing, lying unnoticed on the ground after being thrown at one of the enemies. Calculating angles and assessing threats, the Professor makes a quick hand gesture and the hand axe suddenly hurtles from its resting place in a straight line towards the enemy red healer’s back!

Eyes wide in shock, the healer turns around, axe stuck in his back, arms akimbo. Gurgling for air, he stumbles, before catching himself on a tree, remaining upright, but seriously hurt, and with his concentration on whatever spell he had cast broken. Still unsure where the attack came from, he scans the area, unable to puzzle out the Professor's exact location.

Shae would snap back to it hearing the red healer gurgle in pain from a catapulted axe. Her eyes would narrow in on him and she’d launch a familiar ball of crackling energy his way.

With a streak of bright light, Shae unleashes her eldritch blast right into the healer... but the grung ducked the blast in the last moment, having it smash into the tree behind him. Focusing on Faekin, still in the clutches of a purple warrior, the healing light finds him, and he opens his eyes, still in the grasp of the creature.
Zip, noticing that Faekin might need some support, immediately fired his crossbow on the purple warrior, hitting him in the flank.

Bertrand, badly hurt from the posioned daggers, digs deep into his reserves, and with second wind starts to hack at the purple brave before him with his handaxe, managing to get a clean slice on the grung's forearm. using the surprise, he doubles up with an elbow strike to the grung's face. Surprised by the two blows, the grung can do little else but to try and slash at Bertrand's slightly exposed torso, going for a nasty stab to the kidneys. The grung leader, harrassed by Brax, uses the opening provided to him by his ally and leaps away from Brax, before letting fly an arrow at him. As the arrow misses its target, he doubles down by taking his dagger and throwing it at Brax, hitting him.
The grung healer, badly hurt by the axe still sticking in his back, wrenches the axe free, and heals himself. Faekin, in the clutches of one of the grung, starts to feel the effect of their poisonous skin, and starts to freeze up, his weakened system unable to cope with the toxins. All he manages to do is to scream out: "Don't touch them... they're... toxic..." before his speech becomes slurred and his limbs go limp. The grung grappling Faekin uses the opportunity to stab the poisoned Faekin with his toxic dagger. Unable to defend himself, the dagger plunges into his side, as Faekin gasps for air, his lungs slowly filling with blood.
The green grung now furthest forward of his party, sees Cliff and Bertrand isolated among their number, and lunges at Bertrand, tackling him to the ground from behind and grappling him to remove the handaxe from his grasp.
Berrus, you see most of the remaining grung ganging up on Bertrand, Brax and Cliff, and you notice that Faekin has lost consciousness, but he's in the middle of the attacking war party. Most of them are badly hurt, but getting close to them is dangerous due to their poisonous skin. You're up!
