Berrus takes his axe, and with a quick flick of the wrist gets it past the grung's defences. With a sickening crunch, Berrus splits the grung's head, and in a smooth motion pulls the axe from the lifeless body, and with a lunge, slashing at the nearest enemy, catching them on their hind leg.
With several grung around him, Brax turns into a whirlwind of carnage, as he lashes out in all directions, slashing at the purple grung who still holds Faekin with his dagger and downing him, while throwing his axe at the barely alive healer. Though it connects, the axe hits with the back portion, doing less damage than he'd have liked. Seeing a third of their party dead or unable to continue fighting, with several more seriously injured, the remaining green grung turns and leaps away. The red archer tries to rally him, but seeing the green grung leap past him, he follows him up, and once there, cures the wounded grung's wounds, to get him to return to the fight.
Cliff, frothing at the mouth and covered in blood, both his own and that of the grung around him, dodges a weak slash and then lunges at his opponent, the grung leader. Knocking the dagger aside and getting inside the leader's guard, he delivers a vicious uppercut, followed by a a jab against the jaw. Though both hits connect, the leader seems little impressed by the punches thrown against him.

Hitting the healer with another bolt, he starts to resemble a frog-like pin-cushion. Thanks to his druidic powers however, he still manages to stay up! You hear from a couple of feet over: "Nice shot, let me try to do the same!" and with that, Falx fired his crossbow from cover as well. Sensing that the war party was wavering, he pushed on, and fired a second bolt. Both Bolts hit in quick succession, and under the combined total of three bolts in the space of a couple seconds, the grung healer collapses, dead or dying.

”Well, it seemed to work last time,” the Professor thinks as he stays hidden among the barrels. Reasoning that taking out their leader is the priority, the Professor concentrates on the hand axe used before, now fallen from the lifeless fingers of the enemy healer. He calculates angles once more, then flicks his fingers quickly in the same spell again, directing the axe at the unsuspecting Grung leader!
Noticing the blur of movement out of the corner of his eye, the leader dodges the incoming axe in the last moment. With a tribal elite and more than half of the group fallen, the grung leader gives a load croaking sound, and though Bertrand wounds the remaining purple brave once more, the remainder of the grung grab the unconscious and dying Faekin, and bound off into the forest.
For anyone wishing to follow them, give me a DC 15 nature check, with disadvantage for anyone that doesn't have darkvision or a source of illumination.

“No. No. No!” Shae would start panicking when she’d watch Faekin get swept away. She’d begin to take a few steps forward. Shae, you’d be a fool to chase them through their territory! She’d still take a step or two before stopping, “Not another one... Drop him!” In a shout of frustration, the Warlock, in one last desperate attempt, will hurl an Eldritch Blast to the back of the grung running off with Faekin.
Shae knew Kam was right. There’s no favourable outcome if she follows them.
(120ft range if the DM allows it. If they’re out of that range she’d still try hurling it into the jungle behind them, even if that means the attack just hits a tree.
Attack: 9 Damage: 4 probably misses in her panic anyway! lol hits a tree.)
She will fall to her knees when she sees her last ditch effort fall into the distant jungle, crashing into a tree. Shae would look over herself... not even a scratch. Why am I so lucky? She’d sigh, feeling a little deflated. After a moment, the warlock would release her last healing light and watch it drift off to their most injured party member who’s still with us.
Maxine shoot after those caring Faekin ( Attack: 8 Damage: 7) but it was obviously too late.
"Shae, Professor, wait!" Maxine was torn between chasing after one lost member of the group and protecting the rest, that was hurt or, like Captain, hopefully "just" knocked off. "We can not separate the group. If we going after that ... whoever it was - we need all of us. And healthy us, not half dead. We will go, and we will find them. But we have to give them that advantage now."
She heard herself and did not like what she was saying a bit! Still: "I think I can heal once more - god, that magic is so limited!" She looked around to check who is in the most critical conditions now.
Shae's Healing Light finds the Captain, and she opens her eyes with a loud gasp, and a lot of confusion, as she looks around her, rapidly taking in the situation. Maxine meanwhile is taking care of Bertrand, who has pushed himself nearly to the limit. Cliff, badly mauled, is almost catatonic, now that the fight has ended. All of you feel exhausted, some even more so than you did before. As night falls and plunges the forest and your camp into darkness, what do you want to do?

"Is there any sign of water?" Maxine looked around. "Those creatures looked like frogs, don't they need water to live in?" She hopelessly checked closest surrounding - some brook? Water left in the plant leaves?
Shae would be relieved to hear the captain awake from her unconsciousness. The warlock will find something soft to place under the captains head to rest on while she goes to access Cliff. “I’ve got you.” She’d place a gentle hand on him and cast her last Cure Wounds for the day.

Shae would begin her assessment rounds on everyone, making sure she familiarized herself with any of their changes. Once done her medical checks, Shae would begin documenting what they learned about the grung today.

Unable to keep up with the grung whisking the dying Faekin away and seeing his last attempt at freeing his companion fail, Snively slows his efforts to penetrate the dark undergrowth in the falling night. Sighing heavily, he realizes Faekin is beyond his rescue efforts and slowly returns to the clearing.
”Bertrand, help search and gather the bodies if you will. I will search for magical auras,” the Professor says as he starts the ritual for Detect Magic.

The Professor finishes his scan of the area and the bodies (which hopefully had some water on them and maybe even healing items on the healer?) and detects the magic source. Maintaining concentration on the spell, he goes over and picks up the item radiating magic, checking for any other items of interest in the same location.
Snively then goes and sits down with the magical bauble from earlier and this new magic source (as well as any other magic he finds) and starts the lengthy identification process.
