Shae would blink. She had been wracking her mind to try to find a way to politely ask to use the mirror privately. And here Snively was, as if intuitively knowing that. To him it may have been a small gesture, but it caused the medic to choke up a little bit. "Thank you... I really appreciate this..." She'd say softly. Without saying much more, the Professor could get the sense that Shae felt a lot of weight on every decision she makes going forward, including what she shares out loud.
When Snively would take his leave, if she happened to have heard the Professors mutter, a small giggle would escape her lips. He's got us all talking like him... After a moment she would take a deep breath and refocus herself on the mirror given to her. Thinking about the feather, while twirling it between her fingers, Shae would look into the mirror, wondering if she'll see anything beyond her dreams. What didn't she know?

Shae focusses intensely on the mirror, longer than you usually have to.
Mushu spots the image of a beautiful elven woman with raven black hair and porcelain white skin walking through a scene of intensely strange natural beauty, towards an ancient forest, with other elves with translucent golden skin waiting inside. Before she gets to the forest though, she flies into a rage, unleashing a cataclysmic whirlwind of magical and elemental energies.
Then, as the next image appears, Shae shifts uncomfortably, blocking Mushu's view of the mirror further.
A short while later, you hear a gasp escape Shae's lips, before she drops the mirror, now returned to its normal state, to the floor. She looks pale, and her pulse has quickened.

You pack up your gear, and after the final preparations are made, set off on your way. Maxine, excited by the prospect of reaching the coast today, is exitedly walking to the front of the column, next to Fang. Although the terrain isn't harder than anything you're used to dealing with, progress is slow, with Brax, Falx and the Captain seeming fatigued and plodding on slower than usual. After a break, they pick up their pace a bit, but it seems as if something is weighing on them. Faekin, previously slowing you down as a result of his injuries, seems to be dragging his heels as well, and the crew and he seem about equally perturbed.
Shae too seems perturbed for the moment, enough so to make the early afternoon hours of the march a very quiet affair. It's a long while, before Bertrand breaks the silence, jesting that he can't wait to be taking off his armour and bathing in the sea tonight. He gets a few laughs, but then the sombre atmosphere returns. Around mid to late afternoon, you start to smell the briny air of the nearby sea. All of you are spurred on by this, and within another hour, you finally get out from the emerald canopy and onto lush sanddunes, overgrown with grass and ferns.
As you mount one of the taller ones, you have a clear and unobstructed view of Refuge Bay before you, and turning towards the forest you can make out the smokey plumes of the volcanoes to the south and southwest, crowing the forbidding mountain ranges in the far distance. Cliff is overwhelmed by the emotion of reaching the coast, and sinks to his knees, wordlessly, with tears of joy running along his hardened face. For the more perceptive among you, you can make out geometric shapes on the bottom of the shallow waters of the clear bay, a town from the looks of it, now reclaimed by the tides. More worryingly, you can make out the fins of sharks in the bay, guarding their new-found habitat jealously.
The evening's meal is quickly prepared and Fang, together with Bertrand, spend an hour or so fishing on the edge of the bay, to supplement your dinner with fresh fish, much to your delight. Despite getting here and having a delicious meal to share, Faekin and the crew still seem muted.

Maxine was so deep in her thoughts and expectations, she did not pick up on the general mood. Not until she saw the sunken town. Disappointment was not that overwhelming (really, it would be a miracle to simply walk into a living city in these parts), but it was there. She did not cry - neither from happiness (even though Cliff's emotions were hers as well), not from disappointment, but simply dropped the load she carried and took to the air - to literally clear the head, calm down the storm of the opposite emotions and just because she could.
Maxine returned to the earth collected and thoughtful. So much so, that at the late supper finally noticed everyone's gloom and even understood it had nothing to do with the still unknown road ahead. Shae kept to herself, Faeking was even grimmer than usual, and Captain with the crew - what the hell was going on? Maxine looked at each one, and begun with the friend she neglected for some time now.
"Shae, what happened? All looked so good for you, but you - and somehow others too - are suddenly all down. What did I miss?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Back at camp:
Shae felt the familiar pitter patter of Mushu’s ‘peets’ on her shoulder as he hastily instilled her with emotions of safety and friendship. “Thank you...” Her voice was barely audible and would quiver. Although she was still pale with a quick pulse, it started to calm and colour started to return to her cheeks. She’d reach up to give the familiar some gentle chin scritches until her hands would steady enough. The warlock would pick up the mirror with care, gently dusting it off for its return to the Professor. She would return it before setting off.
On the march:
Shae went through the motions as everyone else, and the longer the silence, the more she would fidget as she walked. She was unable to settle herself. In order to try to occupy or distract her mind from wondering too far, she would busy herself with completing checks on everyone from where she marched. She would keep tabs on their condition.
Can Shae insight the others (NPCs) on the team to see if there is anything she can sense or tell from them, on how they feel? Basically would she have noticed anything/be able to give any insight to Maxine’s question. She would wonder as well, if she notices anything: 6
Arrival:
At the sound of Cliff’s cry, Shae could feel the emotion pour from him, tugging at her heart strings. She’d take a deep breath of her own to stabilize her own barrage of emotions. Her eyes would look up, following Maxine to the sky as if to keep a few tears from flowing. Shae would take a step forward to gently reach out to Cliff, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. She’d give it a gentle squeeze as if to provide comfort of acknowledgement as they all stood there overlooking the view.
As the party would begin to break, she would insist to complete quick medical review on Fang and Bertrand before they go. And it would be just that, a quick tentative once over and would send them off with a simple, “Thank you.” In advance for providing for them this evening. Then she’d move on to complete checks on everyone else. Although she was thorough, her eyes and usually attentiveness were absent.
Shae would have accepted her meal with a polite smile and take her seat. she would pick at it with small steady bites. At first, she would not have noticed Maxine had approached at first. She’d blink a couple times refocus herself back to the present and on her friend who was addressing her. The medic’s eyes would glance to the others before finding Maxine again. Surely she hasn’t affected the others as well has she? Even more anxiety would begin to swell in her chest. What does she tell her? That she was consumed in darkness... Emerged from the inky blackness... Greeted by... Left with...
Shae would swallow hard. “Exactly Maxine... I knew it was too good.” She’d start before glancing down at her hands. “I had another dream...” She’d let out a soft even exhale. “There were more consequences... there are consequences...” She’d look back up to Maxine. “I fear with every drop of magic I use, Kam will fade along with it.” She could be, in essence, syphoning Kam’s lifeforce.
“I observed the two of you conversing before my watch last night. She share anything that concerned you?” Fang asks trying to come to grips with the concept of emotions. Since he’s still used to survival of the fittest.
Maxine gave Shae a long look. Then scratched her nose (the situation was obviously serious, but she could not help it). When she thought she understood what was bothering Shae, she finally spoke: "This is exactly why I try to see magic for what it is - a useful tool and nothing more. You give it too much credits - it begin to rule you all over."
She sat more comfortably and prepared to the long explanation. "Sure, your dreams are more than dreams - I saw it, I believe it. But (!) they are still dreams, right? May be yes - may be no, you can not tell. Now, let's use our heads here and give the guts some rest. Did I get it right and you afraid you somehow suck the magic out of your Kam? Seriously? You told me yourself how powerful he is - he brought you back to life, he gave you powers, he showed at this battle and saved the day. Now, how can you take anything from him, that he does not want to give? You simply can not, the moon does not take the light from the sun, it projects it, nothing more."
Maxine took a deep breath and continued: "Now, we already killed his enemies on that plane, right? And look - he is still fine. But even if Kam is not invulnerable on that plane of his, even if there is someone else there - it's not you. Speaking of planes - have you ever asked if you can get? To visit, to make sure he is fine? Plane-shift is not something unheard of. That is, if you do not believe in simple logic proving he will be fine."
She thought a little more and asked; "Um... What exactly did you see in that dream?"
Fang nods silently in agreement to Berrus about dreams being troubling as he remembers his own dreams about his village burning. “Didn’t she have warning dreams about the hag? Maybe this is another warning of danger?” Fang looks to Glasses for his opinion.
"Well thers dreams then thers dreams ye mae say, some o hers border on prophesy an divination, an some are forced liken what appened to ye, an some just be dreams, ive been lead ta believe tha it takes great skill ta figure which be which
Fang ponders Berrus’s words and while waiting for glasses to weigh in on the matter asks the obvious question “What now?” As he looks at the now submerged village.
Standing at the edge of the water and looking out over the ocean, the Professor can hardly believe that they have made it this far. Shaken from his reverie by Fang's question, he says, "Well, we seem to have successfully bypassed the ruins of the city inhabited by undead and made it to the sea. In the morning we should test out the magic boat and see if we can all fit, or if some will be able to leave while others have to stay behind."
"As far as other dangers, I don't recommend a swim," he adds smiling and gesturing to the sunken city and its aquatic inhabitants.
Looking at the others for the first time in a while, Snively realizes that they all are experiencing different emotions, from Cliff's pure joy and relief to the captain's pensive mood. "For tonight, though, we should celebrate, remembering those who fell along the way and being thankful for those of us who have made it this far."
