Shae’s attention would turn back to Berrus when he’d inquire what she meant. She’d smile when he’d take a swig, happy their defender was still treating himself to a night off. Her eyes would glance down embarrassed, “Maybe I do need some shut eye...” She’d push an awkward chuckle out. Berrus has hinted to her to get some sleep more than once now. The scholar would look back up, “Though I can’t help but wonder about the panther we freed...” She’d scoff to herself for trying to hope it was more than it was. “What if there is another ancient race? Panthers? Hic!” Shae would wince, her hiccup stopping her just after her first silly thought. Shifters? Shh. You’re drunk Shae. Don’t be silly.
“Prowling the night for play?!” Shae would chuckle at Berrus’ eagerness to get to bed. She had been avoiding getting up and moving, for she was expecting that’s when the mead would hit her the hardest, especially if Berrus is having difficulties. “And where does panther Berrus plan on stumbling off to sleep? Hic!” And did he need help? She couldn’t possibly carry their protector.
The Professor smiles gratefully at Fang and provides whatever assistance he can to set up his overwatch position. He will also set up an Alarm spell with a silent trigger, saying to Fang, “I will know if an enemy crosses this line and come to join you in defense of the village. It is good to have you with us.”
Snively bids everyone goodnight and finds a quiet spot near a fire and settles down to sleep.

Seeing everyone gather themselves and finally begin to wind down for the evening, Shae will try to sneak chugging back the rest of her mug and placing it back down. She’ll pluck a couple snacks off the table to carry with her to bed and reluctantly peel herself off her seat, finally testing her vertigo. “Fire’s better than the skull.” Shae will sway a little bit, but she’d smile. She was happy to spend the night under the stars with the crackling fire close by. It has grown to be a comfort when in the presence of their team.
Shae will lean into Berrus reaching to steady her, secretly hoping they weren’t the case of the blind leading the blind. She’d huff a little chuckle out of her nose at the thought.
“Oh! One more thing-Hic!” She’d turn abruptly, a little faster than she should. It would take a second to focus her vision. Shae was doing a Maxine check. Her friend had gone silent or perhaps even snuck away excusing herself for the evening. But if Shae was lucky enough and Maxine was still hanging on, winding down with the rest of the Star Goddess, she will ‘throw herself’ at her friend. Shae would just wrap her arms around her and squish her face against Maxine’s in another over affectionate hug. “Night my Maxine!” She’ll coo before prying herself away. She’ll offer a smile and exaggerated waves to the rest of the Star Goddess and crew members, sparing them suffocating hugs like she did with Maxine.
Once satisfied that she’s said her good nights to the others, she’d spin herself back to Berrus, stagger and pop a snack in her mouth to chew on. She’d smile with food in her cheek, nod and link her arm with his, even though he wasn’t offering it to her. She was good to go now.
gives her a peck on the forehead then settles down a little bit away so she is between him and the fire within a few moments he is fast asleep (or passed out)
"Oh, no, girl, you are not going like this anywhere. Besides, where do you want to go? We sleep here and at the morning we are going all together. I was packing all morning and not going to unload everything again somewhere else." It was not the first time in Maxine's life that she saw someone drank (though, to her own surprise, whatever frogs were cooking tasted strong enough, yet, did not affect her the slightest. Not that she tried too hard, but still).
Star Goddess campfire was all set for the quiet night - last bits of safety before another long journey.
Shae will snicker to herself when Maxine would finally pipe up chastising her, making sure her, Berrus and the others make it safely to the Star Goddess campfire for the night. Sure Maxine was giving her heck, but she wasn't going to go anywhere she wasn't supposed to. She was right where she needed to be. And breaking Maxine's silence and being shooed to bed was endearing to her. Giddy and warm, inside and out, she'll curl up where Berrus sets her. Trying, terribly, to defy her body and minds exhaustion, Shae would fall asleep within seconds her eyes closing and feeling her protectors kiss on her forehead.
For as restful and quiet as the night is, you suffer tremendously upon waking up a short bit after dawn. The only people not affected by a headsplitting headache are Fang and Maxine. From the looks of it, the grung and the crew of the Star goddess don't feel much better, and even among the lizardfolk there are several that are cursing the sun's brightness. Even though, you all get up, drink some water, and make ready for the day. Gruk had overheard your discussion the day before, and had sent B'ark, N'ala and some of the other priests towards you, to provide you with whatever supplies you needed, to the extent possible.

Shae will start with some barely audible groans as she'd squirm to hide her face from the sun. It's not that it was unexpected, but she still felt it all the same. The headache. She'll let out another little groan before popping one eye open, squinting, then hiding her face again. In the back of her mind she thinks she could even hear the slight groan of... Kam? She'll let slip a snort of a giggle. He did encourage her to relax. And they get to suffer together. Like a team. And although her head felt like it was being squished between two boulders, there was still a smile tugging at her cheeks. She hadn't allowed herself to let go and let loose since the incident... That was the last time. She hasn't felt safe to do so since...
Rolling lazily over onto her back, eyes still closed. Shae will wipe any drool from the corner of her lip before rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Then it hit her. She was parched. Finally able to crack open her eyes to start adjusting to the sunlight, Shae will scan the camp secretly hoping the Professor had already prepped morning tea. To her surprise, it looked like Berrus was the only one awake. It could explain why her back felt colder than what she remembered and why she's waking before others.
Finally, Shae will bring herself to sit up. A few crumbs and hints of last night's feast would tumble into her lap and onto the ground. This is how you get ants. And why we banned bed snacks Shae... She'll sigh to herself as she'd brush off the evidence, hoping to save herself from additional embarrassment. The warlock will finally pick herself up off the ground and chug back her first helping of water.
Seeing Berrus checking on the others, Shae will hesitate. She'll take a deep breath before correcting her posture and trying to put on her usual morning smile for him. "Would you like to look for some berries with me?"
Maxine, fresh as a spring flower, woke up early and was happily concocting a new potion (previous one was discarded after careful sniffing the smell of it). 4 (Swiftness. The drinker’s walking speed increases by 10 feet for 1 hour.)
Everyone's conditions surprised her (no, her head was definitely clear) but then she went looking for the frog-shaman. It is unlikely grungs invented a marinade, but if they know alcohol and hangover, they surely found something to help with it too.
"They have some restorative qualities, so I was hoping they might." A smirk would tug at Shae's cheek, glad she wasn't the only one with a headache. When Berrus would hand her the mug of water, she'd raise a brow and pretend to sniff it suspiciously before taking a sip. She'll wink. "I think so." She was being modest. She slept like a rock. "You?" She'd ask wondering how long she could keep their protector chatting without his mead.
Noticing Maxine working away already in the morning, Shae would sip on her water for a few moments to watch her friend in her element. Once a little more hydrated, she'll speak up, "Let's get picking!" She'll pivot heading out to lead the way for some morning picking with Berrus. The medic will be sure to point out and describe the plants in the easiest way possible for him. Keeping his gear in mind, Shae would be sure to keep him in the shadiest of areas and not to wander too far. She'd hate to exhaust him so early in the day. Should anything catch her eye that she thinks could be unique for Maxine, or even some tea leaves for the Professor, she would harvest it.
The Professor cracked his eyes open in the early morning, and a pounding headache greeted him. "I must not have had enough water last night," he thought sleepily, then fell back into dreams for a while longer. Coming fully away some time later with the sun in his eyes, Snively gets up and drinks some water before preparing tea. Sitting with his tea and trying to focus on preparing his spells for the morning, he comes across the notes from the mirror's vision last night and looks around to see if Shae is near. Finishing his spell preparation, he tracks her down and shares his notes with her, saying, "Perhaps you and Kam can come up with something here. It seems to be linked to Berrus' ancestors and the civilization we saw from the graves in Hero's Rest."
Seeing Berrus nearby, he adds, "If you'll hand me the horn for a bit, I will do the identification ritual to see what we are dealing with," and he heads off to clear off an open spot on the ground to do just that.
